Fairfield Inn & Suites Memphis I-240 & Perkins2.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is in need of an update. The hotel advertises it is being renovated but the only work we saw was some workmen at the outdoor pool. It is close to I-240 so is only a few minutes to the airport and maybe 15 minutes to downtown Memphis. Except for the need for renovations, it's a good hotel in a convenient area.
I arrived late and the front door was locked but I was quickly buzzed in. The security felt good and the comfortable bed felt even better. The room I was in was clean but it is about time for some touch up on the small things. There was a little paint pealing in the bathroom (probably due to moisture). It is about time to put some reports around the room so things can be easily charged. I liked the fridge in the room and the breakfast was even better. I liked the friendly staff. They all said hello and smiled (except or the lady doing breakfast as she seemed quite busy).
The room was clean and spacious but for $122.11 a night, you would expect the phone and TV to work. You would also expect to not have ants running all over the room. The only plus for the place was that the staff was friendly. If you pay with cash, you will have another $100 added as a security.
The only reason I didn't rate this hotel a 1 is because the people were nice. This Fairfield needs to be condemned. The floors on every level were sagging and not level. The room smelled like a musty smoke pit and cracks throughout the room. To top it off we were about ready to leave and 6 policemen were coming off the elevator with a man in handcuffs. This place doe not represent the @Fairfield brand nor does it represent Marriott. I am shocked the tournament suggested this as a hotel to stay at. I travel every week and stayed at various levels of motels to hotels but this one is one of the worst. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and tried to make the best of their situation.
For the price, it is an okay hotel. Even by the budget-friendly standard, it is just okay. A little construction going on, but it is on the outside, however it prevents easy access to the lobby when you are trying to check-in/check-out with luggage, etc. The staff are all very nice and helpful, and the room is clean. The HVAC is noisy, and I am not a light sleeper at all ...! Again, for the price, it was a decent night's sleep. It was easy to find, and the location was halfway between where we were heading (downtown) and friends we were visiting (Cordova).
This hotel is under renovations right now. It's nice, but the walls are thin, so you can hear out in the hallway. The beds are comfy, the room is clean. Not sure about the neighborhood, it's right off the interstate. The breakfast bar is amazing! They have an employee in the room, keeping it clean and full. Lots of options, fruit, waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, and bacon, sausage, and eggs. Very yummy.
After 8-9 hours in a car it was time to pull it over and get some rest. The hotel we were at wasn't our normal spot in Memphis, but it was nice none the less. A few things that were great is that the fam could eat breakfast in the Morning. The rooms were were good and there was a spot to heat up food. Definitely near restaurants and places you need. A couple things. The staff was great and got us checked in quickly. The only thing was that they held the cost of one of the rooms on my card but shouldn't have. Breakfast was good as usual. There was Construction in the front of the hotel and parking was a small challenge. Overall the stay was good.
The beds are great not to far from freeway staff is nice told us some must do places in area check in easy and fast they do serve free breakfast and have gym on site a couple gas stations and fast food near by
Great hotel in a good part of Memphis. Convenient location, great staff, good breakfast and comfy room. I had booked an Express deal on Priceline and got this hotel for $32+tx. I was a little skeptical but it was great! Brantley gave us a friendly welcome and her was so thorough on all his explanations. Would definitely stay here again!
In the early days of last December of 2016 I finished my tour in United States by visiting the city of Elvis Presley King of Rock n Roll in Memphis. We visited the Holy Land where the King's buried. But, what I want to tell you is my stay at Fairfield Suites. This is a memorable place where you can see a land with a long train (up to 70 wagons) put their way through the railroad .....amazing! the only word I can whispered while treating my stomach with a good taste of bread and coffee on my breakfast...
