Service was always responsive. Hotel itself just needs help with some basics. Poor lighting and inadequate electrical outlets- couldn't find anywhere to plug coffee maker but bathroom sink. Shabby and nicked furniture, elevators, etc

The staff was great and breakfast was fantastic every morning. Renovations are in progress and will continue to keep this location a great choice!

The stay started off with an unfortunate misunderstanding on my part. I was told a fridge and microwave was available "upon request". Upon request meant if there is a room available with the items when you happen to check in you may request it. As our stay was 5 days you would hope that they would have been able to hold one for us but no such luck. We were told we could use the fridge and microwave from the lobby but that didn't work for us either. My biggest concern with the room was the bathroom. The toilet didn't flush well and then the very loud flushing noise would go on for nearly a minute. That was pretty terrible for night-time bathroom breaks. Although water pressure is great, the water pressure was so strong that it was uncomfortable to shower. Once we got light sunburns then I was actually fearful of showering. Also that no matter what we did, water would escape and we were always welcome to a wet floor upon exit from the shower. But the worst part of the bathroom was that it did not have a fan. The lack of fan created an overall humidity throughout the whole room that would linger for hours. Trying to get decent hair was impossible and the dampness even effected our clothes. The TV usually didn't work showing only "no signal" which is amazing considering how infrequently we used it. I heard every peep from everyone at all hours. Most things were mounted crooked which reflects the hotels overall attitude of "don't care". Breakfast was okay but crowded.

VERY friendly staff and liked the amenities!! Breakfast was good and they had coffee all day and fresh popcorn and cookies often throughout the day. The rooms were clean and had a small fridge and microwave.

Great staff very friendly and helpful. Location is close to freeways and downtown

The staff at the front desk is absolutely amazing! Two of the nicest young women I've had the pleasure of meeting in my many travels. They went above and beyond. Thank you!

This is an older Holiday Inn that is definitely in need of updating. The bathroom sink had a huge crack in it, wallpaper was peeling, walls were thin and lots of sound from the hallway and adjacent rooms were heard, the a/c was noisy and had to be turned way down to cool, the hall carpet was stained and worn in places and the ventilation system sent all cooking smells throughout the hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was the usual fare for HIE. With a little sprucing up this could be up to par with other HIEs.

The room had multiple problems from the start. When we arrived in the room, there we multiple lady bugs in the bed and on the ceiling. The temperature in the room was either freezing or extremely warm. The room was outdated and the furniture had seen better days.

What you would expect from an older Holiday Inn Express. Rooms were nice, everything was quiet, breakfast was adequate. Not a lot of food delivery options. No pets allowed.

I came to memphis for an interview at one of the universities and this holiday Inn express proved to be a great choice for our stay! The location was extremely convenient for my interview, as well as a short drive to downtown and beale street! The staff was so helpful as they allowed us a 1 pm late checkout due to the time of my interview. Each of the staff members I came into contact with were kind and courteous. Our room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here!

I really enjoyed my stay. It's a great location and staff was courteous and helpful. The free breakfast was an added plus!

It was a lovely experience! The only thing I had a concern was that the pool was not clean and when they did clean it; it was not safe to swim in. You couldn't see the bottom of the pool. This was an inconvience for us because the pool is for the two children to play in and wear out. As an aquatic staff at the YMCA I felt the pool was not safe; which was a requirement when looking for a hotel.

It was a really nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The only complaint I had was that the pool was not clean and when it was clean the kids still couldn't swim in it because you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. As a lifeguard and swim instructor I knew the chemical balance was not right and safe so the two kids couldn't play in it. A pool is one necessity we like for our children and didn't feel safe to use. We address the issue with front desk but nothing happened before we left. We were there for three days.

Location is convenient, hotel is fine for quick trip. Had problems with our reservation on arrival. Took some convincing, but the front desk clerk finally helped us get the correct room. Friendly staff. Construction being done on the elevator cab - got a little noisy on the 1st floor. Average stay if you're not planning to be at the hotel much.

wasn't too sure what to expect. but the hotel was convenient.. not DOWN TOWN, but just a short cab ride away. the service was TOP NOTCH!! so friendly!! the breakfast in the morning was very good for just the IN LOBBY kind of thing. coffee tea and hot choc avail 24 hours. pool was quiet and clean. rooms were very clean. not a noisy hotel ,

Clean comfortable and staff very friendly. They were very helpful and very pleasant

I went to Memphis with some friends to party, to drink, to see Graceland and have a good time. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again if I am in Memphis . The management and staff are extremely friendly. At breakfast the manager personally stopped by each table for a quick chat and the workers always said hello and stuff. Since it is a Holiday Inn Express you should not expect much but this property exceeds expectations by a lot. The free breakfast, the free parking, the afternoon popcorn and the cinnamon buns are a huge added benefit. Although Google Maps said that it was 1.5-1.8 miles from Beale Street don’t plan on walking there because it is too far. You will still need to drive unless you really like walking. We were planning on drinking so we just took a taxi for $13. Certain sections of the hallway carpet need to be changed and some of the doors were scuffed but the rooms were in good shape and the mattresses and bedding were great. Since Memphis is a bit of a rough city the neighborhood itself was just a step below average but I felt safe and they have night time security. There were tons of nearby places functional places for anything you need and the hotel is right off the highway so you can easily get there from the airport and go to Graceland or Tunica or anywhere else.

The staff was incredibly helpful and amazingly friendly! The room was just enough space and very clean (although smelled of bleach the first night--is overclean possible?) The breakfast was great. It was a one mile straight shot to downtown so made it very easy to get to attractions. Would definitely stay there again. I was concerned that being near the hospital it would be loud and this was not an issue for us at all.

Location is okay and the free parking is a great plus. Rooms should be much cleaner, especially the bathrooms. Bar lock on door was coming off the hinge and did not offer any security. Lobby area and elevators were dirty. Back door of the hotel also did not close properly or lock, another security concern.
