Hotel has been recently refurbished and up to usual Tryp standard. The upper floor room had very little street noise. In room safe but no tea or coffee. Convenient location next to Alonso Cano metro. Breakfast was good with usual buffet selection.
My client booked me into this hotel because there was a shortage of business accommodation due to a large conference. I'd class this hotel as a budget tourist hotel. The outside appearance is uninspiring and functional. The reception is very small although the staff were very good. Generally the limited public space was cramped and the decor tired. On the contrary the room was large and comfortable, if a little spartan - little in the way of decoration, but with a nice big desk space for my work. There was a stocked mini-fridge but I would have dearly welcomed tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was in the adjoining cafe and was a treat - good coffee, the usual continental options but with bacon and eggs as well. Self-service too, so I could eat as much as I needed. Wifi was generally good and I particularly liked the fact that I didn't need to enter the log in details every 24 hours, as happens so often in business hotels. The big downside to my stay was that my room had a connecting door to the room next door. Although it was securely locked there was a one centimetre gap under the door, which meant that I could hear EVERYTHING that went on next door. Long midnight telephone calls to the US, the TV, even visits to the bathroom. I couldn't even drown the noise out by turning up my own TV. This went on for three nights, and I got very little sleep. Very disappointing.
Room was ok, sheets had a whole in them and looked a little tired, other than that it was ok. Next to the train station, which was my reason for choosing this hotel, easy enough to get into the city centre, just didn't particularly feel welcoming. More of a place for the business traveller.
I stayed in room 705 (the one in the corner). King bed, nice bedroom size and great bathroom. Quite bright (has a window that can be openned) and really wide. Perfect shower preasure. Everything was clean and it looked renovated very recently. The fitness center seems to be on that floor (7th) though it was looked, perhaps it is necessary to ask first at the front desk.
Very comfortable small hotel in a quiet Madrid neighborhood. I spent 2 weeks there while visiting family. Very upscale and clean. Just a block from Metro station. Breakfast was excellent. Staff is very friendly.
My impression of this hotel was one of a fairly anonymous hotel. It had a location that was suitable for my purposes, but I would not choose it again for leisure. Breakfast was generally just disappointing. This was a one night stay.
Very nice, small boutique hotel. Very clean, modern hotel. Rooms are very nice. Breakfast is very good. Staff speak limited English. Overall a very nice boutique hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
We asked about parking in advance of our booking and heard nothing. It would have been very reassuring to get local knowledge and help. Beds rock hard, bathroom not as clean as we'd have hoped and it's really not worth paying upfront for the breakfast, you can get it for 2 to 3 Euros in any bar!
Stayed for 3 nights. Greeted well and booked in very quickly. Had Free WiFi which was better than most hotels I've stayed in. There is a small reception, one lift and hotel has a restaurant / bar connected. I can't advise on food options as we were room only. In terms of comfort bed was firm but comfortable, two pillows and apart from stiletto / heels noise on wood based flooring from room above, the room was relatively noise free from outside. Bathroom had all amenities you need, hairdryer, tissues, hand and body wash. Shower was OK, temperature not a problem. Location is good. It is between the Canal and Alonso Canal stations, with the latter being marginally closer. There is another station close by (Iglesia) but was currently closed. If you plan to get the metro from the Bahamas Airport then it's worth considering the tourist card as otherwise you pay a 3 euro surcharge. Single trip from airport terminal 2 was 4.70 euros each. Always look for final stop to get correct direction for where you plan to go. There is a useful app on android play store for the metro. If you take metro to the centre I would recommend going from Canal to either Opera or the next stop in Sol. This area and up to Gran Via are the busiest parts with plenty of shops and restaurants.
Have been just a couple of nights. Perfect. I was lucky I got a disable room so I got a super big toilet. Although the room was facing the street, there wasn't any noice AT ALL. Quite, clean, comfortable and very very good price. Will come back next time I visit Madrid FOR SURE.
