Beautifully decorated hotel with top-notch service! They look after your every need. Staff spoke English and were very attentive to every request. They did the little things that you expect from a 5-star hotel. The breakfast was terrific and offered a wide variety of items to choose from. The only knock is that there was no balcony. However, the courtyard provided a very nice area to relax and enjoy the gardens.
Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is a small hotel in a quiet neighbourhood. It was lovely to come back from the bustle of the centre to this haven of tranquility. We had especially unseasonal warm weather - top 30s every day. There was great air conditioning throughout the hotel and the reception staff were wonderful in offering bottles of water when we came back or went out and quick to arrange for ice buckets to be delivered to our room. Everything about this hotel is excellent. Free wifi and a music system for use with an iPhone in the rooms. Lovely furnishings, fluffy bathrobes and towels and slippers. Lots of bathroom products. There is a lovely quiet terrace to eat breakfast or for a drink. The breakfast is superb and there is a very large choice of everything with eggs freshly done of your choice. The breakfast was so good it kept us going all day! Must mention the reception staff in particular who were so very helpful and cannot be praised enough. Although I would say that all the staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel
A truly wonderful overnight stay in a property characterized by comfort, quality an attention to detail -- the food, the high quality linens and bath products, the cleanliness of the room, the historic building and lovely garden, and especially the excellent service -- all these made this an outstanding experience. We would recommend this property to anyone from solo travelers to families with children. Outstanding!
Its a beautiful hotel in the centre of Madrid. The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and very clean. They offer a very personal service which you don't get in big hotels, they have very high standards. The food/breakfast is wonderful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else; I will be back soon, hopefully!
Slightly off the beaten path, but still easily accessible, this elegant hotel offers great service and is a convenient walking distance to the Prado. It is very private. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there.
This is a nice quaint hotel with great service. The rooms were very spacious, clean, quite and accommodating. The hotel is close to the hop on hop off bus and near Hard Rock Cafe. The value of the hotel is great,we received great service from all the staff. Complimentary waters were always available. Only about 20 minutes from the airport. I would recommend this hotel
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Orfila for four nights. We stay in many hotels. Hotel Orfila is one of, if not, the best. It is in a quiet area of town and away from the very centre of the city with its teeming groups of tourists, a considerable plus in the summer months. Yet everywhere is in easy reach either on one of the many bus routes or the Metro, both just round the corner. Our bedroom was completely peaceful overlooking the courtyard garden with a comfortable bed and pillows and fully equipped bathroom in which everything worked. The wifi speed was always fast. The air conditioning, despite the Madrid heatwave, kept our room at the temperature we wanted. The buffet breakfast extensive and impressive – very good coffee! Dinner in the Michelin starred restaurant was quite delicious. All the staff, particularly those on the front desk, were first class, always helpful, always smiling. Definitely a hotel we would like to go back to.
High standards of design and comfort are expected at a member of the Relais et Chateau group and the Orfila did not disappoint. But what sets it apart from many others is the quality of the staff particularly those at reception. My wife and I had the good fortune to have Marcos and Jose Ignatio on duty when we stayed for 4 nights in June. From restaurant advice to art museum bookings to recovering my jacket from a restaurant where I left it nothing was too much trouble for them. What a delight to find people so willing to help.Indeed we found all the staff friendly and ready to help. As to the Hotel more generally we were very happy with our room which looked out over the courtyard garden and was very quiet. The breakfasts which were included in the tariff were excellent as was the one dinner we had there. The Hotel is well placed for Museum visits. I have no hesitation in recommending the Orfila to discerning travellers.
Over the years, i have stayed i perhaps 150 Relais Chateaux world wide. all are remarkable, but Hotel Orfila was particularly impressive...especially the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff lead by Jose` Sanchez`. Please know that i love great service, but hate being hovered over. This was quite the opposite and i appreciated the appropriate concern without being overpowering.
Cozy and elegant surroundings in a 19th century palace with gorgeous art and personnel who make you feel as if you are visiting your very polite, well-behaved and well-appointed family. The garden is a must...please treat yourself to a meal, or at the very least breakfast, as it is an oasis of quiet, style and beauty. We arrived to our room each afternoon from our outings to find some wonderful treat awaiting us...a bottle of Cava or some delicious ham or fruit. The ice bucket was always filled and bottles of water always ready. These are very professional and unobtrusive folks who know what they are doing! Our every wish was noted and remembered. We would like to personally thank Carlos, Ignacio, Jose, and the rest of the front desk concierge staff, the wonderful staff of the restaurant, the housekeeping staff, the bellmen, etc., who were always smiling and so very sweet. When asked to do so, they very graciously wrote their names for me, but I am so sorry to have lost that card! Please know we are so grateful to you all and thank you very much for your kind attention to our every whim. We so look forward to our next visit and making Hotel Orfila our "place" in Madrid.
