The moment we walked in, we were instantly drawn by the beautiful cozy and lovely interior design. The staffs at the Orfila were amazing, they are friendly and professional, always wearing a warm smile on their faces, made us feel like home. We are foodie, making decision on restaurant is never easy. The staff helped us picking restaurants that fit in our schedule and preference, we were absolutely pleased with their recommendations including the 2-Michelin restaurant inside the hotel that looks like a garden. We brought our 5-months old puppy with us to this last minute trip, the staff provided pet supplies such as bed, food bowl, even filled in water when they finished cleaning. The day of our return, we accidently left dog food and vaccination record in the room, you can imagine how panicky and upset we were. We called the hotel explained the situation they immediately found a taxi delivered our stuff the airport, saved our dog!!! This was our first trip with a pet, for the most part, we have no idea what we got ourselves into, but the staff at Orfila made it a lot easier for us. Whenever we come back to Madrid, Orfila will be our choice for sure and lots of Jamón Iberico!
From the first impression to the helpful and friendly people at the front desk onwards our experience in this elegant hotel was wonderful. So much so we decided that we were going to make this our Madrid hotel from now on.
Stayed here for 6 days and found the hotel very enjoyable. Staff very welcoming and very helpful, they arranged our transport from the airport, everything went well. The room was gorgeous and there was a bottle of Champagne waiting for us, which was very welcome after our flight from Paris. The hotel is in a quiet street and just around the corner from lots of shops and restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay and will probably stay at the Orfila of we get back to Madrid.
You will love this elegant hotel; the staff is to a person welcoming and so genuine. We were traveling with our teenaged son and we had a well sized garden room with an extra bed brought in. Beautiful, big bathroom and quiet room. Our breakfast was excellent. Perfect location as it’s in an elegant neighborhood. It was a nice pretty walk to the Retiro Park. We were only there one night but will be returning end of the week for our final night in Spain.
This is the fourth time I have stayed at Hotel Orfila and the exceptional standards that distinguish this small private hotel are as strong as ever. For me, no trip to Madrid is complete without at the very least a short stay at this lovely hotel. The standard of the rooms, service and staff were outstanding --- as they always are. The Garden Restaurant now has a new chef and with a three star Michelin rating deserves special mention. Dining at the hotel was always a pleasure and the cuisine of a high standard. Mario Sandoval has however succeeded in lifting excellence to a new level. The new menu is far more imaginative than previously and includes some truly adventurous but also very successful combinations. Sandoval has also resisted the Spanish temptation to serve rather large portions. Individual courses are now more modestly proportioned and beautifully balanced. Sandoval also uses less salt than most Spanish chefs and does not scatter rock salt like confetti. Both real pluses in my experience. As always, the focus on seasonal specialties is paramount and this year's Autumn menu is a triumph. The pigeon supreme is a dish that will live long in my memory. I only regret that I did not experience the full gastronomic but that will have to wait for my next visit. Thank you all for a wonderful stay John C Wellington New Zealand
Hotel Orfila did not disappoint. Booked it based on the great Trip Advisor reviews. Great location and warm and welcoming staff all made for a wonderful stay. Everything about this hotel was top notch. Highly recommended!
From the moment you step through the doors, you feel as if you are visiting Shangri-La within a beautiful residential neighborhood of Madrid. Hotel Orfila offers a sanctuary from the city’s hustle and bustle. Centrally located, Hotel Orfila is walking distance to all of Madrid’s top attractions. The hotel’s services, staff, and amenities are exceptional. It is elegant, refined, and charming. I loved my room, bathroom, and special welcome gifts offered by the attentive staff. The outdoor patio is not to be missed and is a welcome respite after visiting crowded areas such as the Puerto del Sol and Plaza Mayor. The restaurant is outstanding and the service impeccable. Housekeeping tends the room twice daily. Complementary bottled water and Wi-Fi are offered. I would never stay anywhere else in Madrid. The hotel is 5 stars across the board and deserves to be recognized as the very best hotel in Madrid.
I just can't say enough about this Hotel. Jose Sanchez makes sure of it's standards and service, who was our front desk contact. the VERY high level of service, rooms, linens, towels ...just everything about this Hotel is Over the Moon wonderful. The location is perfect and quiet. The breakfasts and all the food was delicious and plentiful. You must stay here, and so affordable.
My wife and I love this hotel. Beautiful environment, very personable, attentive staff. We don't know why but they upgraded our room to a large suite and even gave us a free bottle of champagne! The double-sink bathroom was large and very clean and the bedroom was comfortable and quiet. The hotel is on a side street so traffic noise is not a problem. The free breakfast was sumptuous. We would stay here again! 10 euro taxi to center of city was the only, very minor, negative.
We recently stayed for a long weekend in this lovely hotel located in wonderful Salamanca area. The staff were very helpful from the beginning in helping me book a private tour before we arrived and helping us with dinner reservations. Rooms were of a good size and ours overlooked their quiet and quaint courtyard. Nothing was a problem for them and they were always on hand to assist with anything. Although it is not located in the middle of Madrid - we preferred this lovely and quieter location as the busier parts of Madrid can be a bit chaotic and full. It takes about 15 minutes walk to get to the Prado or Thyssen and a bit more to the Reine Sofia but it is a nice walk. There are also many good restaurants in the area. If we went back to Madrid we would definitely stay here again.
