2 minutes from Puerta del Sol , 5 from Plaza Mayor , this hotel really surprised me - beautifully designed , spacious and modern rooms , very friendly staff .Also given the location it was really quiet - would stay here again anytime , excellent value
Great hotel with pleasant staff and very reasonably priced. The decor was modern and stylish. Rooms were clean and spacious and there was also a spare desk to work from. Location was brilliant and would definitely recommend whether staying for work or pleasure.
Central located Easy walking distance for many of the sites. Very clean rooms, with large bed. Very good shower. House keeping was a bit erratic. Our room overlooked the street but with the door to the veranda and the shutters closed there was very little noise. The walls were a bit thin so there was noise from other guests banging doors.
This hotel is adorable and in a super central location - everything is walkable from the hotel and right around the corner from the famous churro places. Our biggest issue: the doors inside the hotel SLAM hard and it can sound like bombs going off. The housekeepers start cleaning rooms very early (around 8am!) and the in and out of the rooms is extremely loud. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. If you’re an early bird, maybe this won’t bother you, but if you wake up anytime after 830am, be prepared for the noise.
We stayed 3 nights excellent location for just about everything we walked everywhere. Very good informative friendly staff, great recommendations for places to go for lunch/Dinner. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great nothing to not like. Enjoy
Recently refurbished hotel near Puerta del Sol, which is pretty much in the heart of Madrid and ideal for tourists - you can walk (and should, since Madrid is such a great walking city!) to practically all of the locations that you will want to visit, i.e. the Prado, the Palace, the Teatro, major shopping streets, etc. Rooms are typically small as in most urban European hotels, but the beds are comfortable and the linen is nice, extra pillows, and a well pressured hot shower! Hotel staff is very accommodating - and they offer loaner umbrellas, because as we all know "the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" (it rained every day we were there!). I thought that we would have no view out of our interior window and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a view of the dome of the cathedral next door - the good news is that the window was not on the street, so no noise from there. A cool detail is that they kept the ancient wood shutters for the window, which added a nice touch to the very modern furnishings. Hotel has good WiFi, but note that all of the TV channels are in Spanish, i.e. no CNN or Sky News in English.
Great location, centre of everything! Lovely clean modern room, comfortable huge bed. Perfect as a base to see this great city. Yes a little noisy at night, but was expecting that due to being central, great to hear the street singers under our balcony. Friendly helpful staff.
Fantastic location for all the main sights - just off the Puerta del Sol (with both its metro & Cercanias stations, giving easy links to the airport) and a few minutes walk to the Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace; 15-minute walk to the main museums. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well as the Gran Via. It seems the hotel is undergoing (and has largely undergone) a refurbishment programme, giving it a fresh, modern twist. Rooms are fairly small but well-equipped and very clean; the beds are very comfortable and the linen good. The staff are really professional and helpful. There is a little bit of noise coming up from the street - and of course, the Spanish stay out very late so that can be a problem for the European traveller exhausted after a day's sight seeing and needing sleep! The walls are a little thin too - might be worth asking specifically for a quiet room if you are likely to be affected by noise. Otherwise highly recommended for a mid-range hotel offering excellent value, and would return if ever in Madrid again.
Nice rooms, very accomodating staff and good breakfast. A little bit noisy because of the thin walls, like in many other hotels. They let me leave my bags until the afternoon after checking out, which was highly appreciated.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, even though we arrived late at night and we speak hardly any Spanish! The quirky décor was entertaining and stylish. Their attention to detail was superb, (so many hotels where you stay three to a room can't get the number of beds right, let alone the towels!) The room was clean, the shower powerful and the beds comfortable (necessary after a day pounding the tourist trail). Even our endless requests for hot water for tea were not too much trouble! Our only slight problem with the room was how much noise came through from the room next door. The location is absolutely fantastic for a first visit to Madrid: 2 minutes walk to Puerta del Sol, 2mins walk to Plaza Mayor, 5 mins walk to the Royal Palace, and just around the corner from the famous San Gines Chocolate Café, so you can keep coming back to the hotel recharge your batteries!
