I stayed two nights. Upon arriving the staff tried very hard to talk me into upgrading my room to a balcony room. The extra cost would have been 70euros a night. I refused but felt quite hassled. As it turned out I had a balcony room anyway - so the outright deceit wasn't a good start. I would have looked past that and not even written a review if it weren't for what came next which completely defies any sense of customer service. The second morning at 7.30am workmen began a room renovation on the floor above my room. Hammers, power tools, hand saws, conversation, dropping tools, whistling. I rang reception at 8.30am. They said they would tell the workman to stop. They didn't. At 9.30am I rang again because now the workman had started welding and sparks were coming out the vents into my room and falling quite close to the bed. I kid you not. Apart from the terrible burning smell and noise, the sparks were lighting up my room like a Christmas tree. Staff when told were unconcerned and all but dismissed my annoyance. They didn't care. They already had my money. I only wish I could rate a zero. Ultimately you pay for a hotel room for a bed so you can sleep - the one thing the staff did not ensure their guests could do.

This hotel is very high spec and looks like it's recently been renovated. The decor is modern, very classy and a little bit quirky. The whole place was clean, fresh and well looked after. It is located between Opera metro and Puerta del Sol metro and overground, and is walking distance to all the major tourist sights, shops, bars, restaurants etc! The staff were very friendly and helpful. After reading some of the reviews all I can say is our room was bright; we did overlook the pedestrian street but the new windows provided great soundproofing; yes we had a glass bathroom door but it was frosted though it didn't fit flush against the wall. The only slight criticism is the internal walls do let some noise through if you have loud neighbours however this wouldn't stop me from staying here again! Super hotel, excellent location and good value for what you get!

Beautiful hotel, can not fault the cleanliness, food and service. The position of the hotel means there is a bit of noise into the early hours but you would expect that being in the centre. We stayed in a superior room.. room is lovely.. although slightly odd with the open plan and no doors to the bathroom.. I would stay here again

Couldn't believe my luck when I booked into this hotel ."Classy" is the word for it, boutique another. Modern clean lines, spacious bedroom, roomy modern bathroom, altogether a delight, never had breakfast in such swish surroundings.Staff friendly and helpful and whole place spotless. Location could not be better, close to two metro stations so easy to access other parts of town, pedestrian street outside, surrounded by so many places to eat and drink. Lively part of town but not raucous, everybody just enjoying themselves. Cannot recommend more highly.

Brillant find right in the centre of the city. Excellent facilities great interior decoration well priced. Slight noise from the street but not that it was annoying or disturbing. Staff were superb. Will definitely return

The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. My only complaint about the hotel is the lighting in the room. Both my friend and I are very light sensitive when it comes to sleeping. There was a set of security lights above the entrance door on all night as well as light from the courtyard that caused both of us not to have a restful sleep.

Staff very good, rooms clean, stayed in room with balcony which was great to seat out after hard day walking around Madrid . Kettle with plenty of tea and coffee Good location close to Sol and attractions

Before arrival we were a little apprehensive about the hotel because of a few negative reviews and the two star rating. We were very pleasantly surprised with our veranda suite which was quiet and plenty roomy. It is in a very busy area near a couple of major plazas, with plenty of strollers and activity. It is easy walking distance to the palace, park & major museums. Restaurants are plentiful and all quality levels. The staff was very attentive to a few requests that we had. Breakfasts were adequate & with good variety. Good value and location in Madrid

This is a perfect hotel for a base, to walk around central Madrid. The accommodations are great. The modern feel works well, with a good size room and bath. Bed and fixtures all upper quality. I could not ask for better service at the desk. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a great view. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the central Madrid area.

This place is modern, cool and classy. A great choice for central Madrid. The location is prime (right by Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor), the service is stellar, spotless rooms, great amenities and clever, chic styling with much attention to detail everywhere. We were greeted warmly upon arrival in the early morning after our flight. For a small charge, we accepted their offer for an available, upgraded room with a charming terrace overlooking LaCalle del Arenal pedestrian walkway. It was both beautiful and a godsend. We were able to nap before exploring Madrid all day. That night, we slept soundly. Bath was modern, excellent shower. Even a tiny sauna! So cool. The breakfast was excellent. I wish I could go back!
