This bare bones hotel has the nicest and most helpful desk staff. We were having issues getting tickets on the Ave and several of the evening and night desk staff spent hours with my spouse and daughter trying to solve the problem and when they were unable to, they referred us to a travel agent, who got us the tickets we needed. The hotel itself is clean and centrally located, and the rooms, although small for 3 people, are newer and well laid out. If I ever visit Madrid again I will definitely stay here.
Hotel Quatro is located in the city center of Madrid. A 2 minute walk to Plaza Del Sol and a 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. If you like Museum, just walk 12 minutes and you will see the Museo Del Prado and the national garden. No need to spend your money for a taxi. Hop on Hop off is just across the hotel! I had the pleasure of spending my early morning running to Madrid Cathedral and Palace and other surrounding places! The night life here in the surrounding area was fantastic! So beautiful 😍!!!! Wear your shorts, t-shirt and flip flops! Our room was spacious and overlooking the city. The concierge was very helpful and their suggestions about the "where to go" was brilliant! Asked for a VIP card to book your place direct and save some pounds! Good selection of breakfast too! Would definitely book in this hotel next time. 👌❤️ Many thanks!
I booked this hotel because it was a good price in a nice location, but I never imagined that the location would be so good. The hotel is only steps away from Puerta del Sol subway station, but there's another station only a few yards from the hotel, plus there are dozens of buses that stop right in front. The rooms were very spacious, at least ours was. We were given a corner room, which was a bit weird when we entered because it had a triangulated shape, but it was really nice after you go past that. The buffet breakfast was ok, but I had better in other hotels in Spain, however, there was a good variety of food and plenty. I recommend this hotel is you want to stay in the city center.
Nice Hotel. Great location close to everything (the center 2 min walk, the Gran via for shopping is nearby). There is a metro and bus station nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful. Surrounded by many good restaurants.
Went for a Stag weekend and came away extremely disappointed in this hotel. For not a cheap price I expected a really nice hotel. From the moment I and my mate entered the room we were disappointed. The floor was very dirty, the bathroom tap was leaking, the beds were way too close together. We moved the beds apart and told the reception. When we went back to our room later the beds were back together again. Why would someone do that?? We told them about the tap leaking. It didn't get fixed. For the price they charge you should get decent air conditioning. Not our room. It barely worked at all. Also we presumed we would have an ironing board. Nope. We had to ask for one at reception and what came to our room can only be described as a small piece of board that barely fitted anything on it, with legs that wouldn't stay standing up. Useless. It didn't detract from our great weekend but it was not a cheap hotel and you should get much much better. Won't stay at this hotel again Some of the group stayed a bit down the road for £25 a night less and got a balcony and really spacious room plus top notch shower and air con.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to northern Spain. The location is excellent and in the center of a lot of things. It is walking distance to the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It is two blocks from Madrid's hop-on, hop-off bus and the metro and bus stations are incredibly close so it is easy to make your way around the city. The room was a nice size for a European hotel. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We would absolutely stay there again.
PROS: I've stayed in the hotel for two days with my 20 years old daughter before dropping her to Salamanca for summer school. We both enjoyed the hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect, room was good enough and hotel staff in the reception was very kind and helpful. CONS: We would expect a coffee & tea facility in the room in such a hotel. There is no kettle or coffee machine in the room. The hotel has to consider to supply this facility.
Great staff, awesome location, modern comfortable. Beds are hard but slept well. Room was small but there was enough room. Close to Sol metro. Walking distance to shopping precincts. Highly recommend.
Vanilla style hotel. Basic accommodation, no frills but good location. Not much soundproofing- lots of furniture scraping can be heard from above. Nice buffet breakfast if you can get it included in room price. Location is excellent for Central Madrid though.
Pros: We were staying for one day/night during a two week trip through Europe. The receptionist and front desk staff was very friendly and stores our bags as we arrived earlier than check in. This allowed us to rent bikes and enjoy the city. The room was much bigger than expected for the price we paid so that was nice. We stayed in a double twin room as I believe there were no other rooms available when we booked but it was still nice. Location was central and accessible. Cons: We were not informed of the key card insert to turn on the lights when we checked in and usually we could have figured this out but the device in the wall looked like a broken light switch instead of a key card light activation device. Wifi was pretty slow. The furniture (especially the bed) was a little low quality with sharp corners and located right where you walk Into the room. I hit my leg on it multiple times and so did my partner. The walls are pretty thin as well so hopefully you don't get noisy neighbors. Now the one thing that really bugged us... we asked them to call us a taxi to the airport as we had to leave really early in the morning and the front desk called a cab and confirmed it for us the night before. In the morning we got a call the cab was there and we went down. Somehow they had booked us an unmarked cab with no meter. As a foreign traveler we didn't feel comfortable with this but needed to get to the airport for our flight otherwise we would've declined the service. Upon arrival to the airport they told us a fare of €29 for a 15 minute commute and they did not accept credit cards. We had no euros left as we were leaving the country in a few hours. We had to go into the airport while one person stayed in the taxi with the driver and withdraw €40 with a $8 fee at least on top of that so needless to say this was beyond disappointing and uncomfortable.
