This is a standard 4-star hotel in downtown Madrid. (+) Location is as good as it gets in Madrid. You are facing the future (under construction as 2017) first Four Seasons and W Hotel in the city, so you can bet it is not in a bad location The hotel "works". There is nothing missing or bad. So if you are planning to stay in Madrid for a short holiday it fills "all the boxes" (-) So here comes the issue. Having stayed at many Madrid hotels, I can't think of such a soulless experience. The hotel and environment could be in downtown Madrid or in suburban Minneapolis. If you want something with "character" and a typical Spanish "cool" flavour, look somewhere else (e.g. Room Mate, etc); there are many other hotels in the area that go beyond this. A pity, because with some more "personal touch" it would be a great hotel. Overall it is good if you get a good fare and just want a correct place to crash at night.
I don't think we could have asked for better location at the heart of Madrid. Stores and restaurants are in a short walking distance and the rooms are big enough. Good value for money. Also kodus for the helpful stuff.
This hotel is centrally located directly in downtown Madrid allowing my girlfriend and I to walk to all the main tourist attractions and museums in under 20 minutes. The staff was very helpful and amazing and the room was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The breakfast in the morning although not included which was unfortunate was very good and offered us a inexpensive great meal to start the day. I highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Madrid also located near some great restaurants and bars.
Had 3 nights at this hotel and found that we could walk to all the major attractions and close to lots of restaurants. We had one of the largest rooms we (3 people) had stayed in during our Spain trip and it was clean with comfortable beds and a good buffet breakfast for 7 euro. The staff spoke good English and were really helpful. Recommended.
Things I liked included: WiFi, quiet street, and central location. Things I didn't like include: waking up to noise of breakfast (I was in a room almost directly above), light switch did not work and I had to unplug lamps to turn them off, and I was unable to take a shower (overhead device was not working).
I stayed 2 nights, received a nice and quite room, enjoyed friendlyness and familiar atmosphere and the location right in the city. Breakfast was at reasonable price, good and very waitress - however style-wise the room and the whole set-up this is not top. Remark: From the airport you can easily reach train station sol with Cercanías without traffic and at less than 3€ - but you need to check the time table
First, I would like to point out that Arturo was incredibly helpful in giving advice on where to go and how to get there. The hotel is located within walking distance of major sites and areas, such as Plaza Mayor, the Palace, cathedral, etc. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. The room was clean and well appointed. We were so tired after not sleeping on our flight, that we told Arturo we'd take the first room available. Although it was tiny, we NYers are used to smaller rooms when we go to the city, besides, we were only sleeping in our room, we were constantly on the go. Very good value.
Superb location, but hard beds, threadbare carpet in room, room and public areas small and compressed, missing grouting in shower, shower had translucent/frosted window onto street, desk lamp and bedside lamp had faulty switches with short circuits actually crackling (changed by hotel when we pointed it out). There is only a cramped breakfast room open in the morning, no restaurant or bar. Small foyer. Four star prices and somehow displays four stars. We booked through Skyscanner website and filtered on city centre location and four star. Shame on Skyscanner for failing to verify or validate the star rating.
When exploring the central parts of Madrid you couldn´t possibly have a better starting point than Quatro Puerta del Sol. It´s situated just a few minutes walk from the great plaza with all the people milling around and with many other attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is newly renovated, the room was clean with all the comforts you need, the staff was friendly and the breakfast extensive. And the cost was reasonable. One little remark on the negative side, though. The beds were rather stiff (at least for people who like their beds a little softer).
Good location and friendly staff, however the hotel well NOT deserve 4* rating as they advertise. Room 107 was the most unpleasant experience, uncleaned shower with some small details of broken tiles and mirror, tv remote not synced with tv, 3 single beds for single use even booked with a few weeks in advance, and outdated lights appliances.
