We decided to stay here since it's close to points of interest. We just could not sleep. You can hear EVERYTHING: other rooms, people working outside, doors closing, a woman coughing all night next door. We woke up exhausted for a day of tourism...

Nice and comfortable hotel. Very well located pretty close to the center of the city. And it’s more interesting streets regarding museums, shops, sightseeing...Very kind staff. Delicious and varied breakfast. Nice building

There are few better chain hotels than this in Madrid in terms of where it is and the quality of attention paid to visitors. The hotel has also retained many of the features of the original building, so if you are lucky you get a balcony and stained-glass windows!

Very good hotel for the price. My room had been smoked in a lot, but the front desk told me (at checkout) that they would have changed me had I asked. So ask! I was in a hurry at check-in so I could not. Good breakfast, friendly counter staff (calling cabs, recommending local restaurants, etc), good overall value.

I had a very good time here, personnel was nice and satisfying all requests, room was cozy and location is strategically perfect to visit the city. Price is acceptable especially considering that going towards downtown prices become higher and higher while Puerta del Sol can be reached in about 15 minutes walking time or via a good metro connection.

We loved our stay here; room was spacious, clean and modern (but with gorgeous old windows with stain glass detail). Hotel is an excellent location, couple of minutes walk from Alonso Martinez Metro, which is approx. 30mins from main airport, with one change. We also walked to the commercial centre (Gran Via/Sol) in about 20-30mins. The service was also exceptional. Juan on reception was fantastic from start to finish, and really helpful in helping us book last minute Atletico tickets! He really did go above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. Great value for the quality of the room and service.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a city break. The hotel is located approx 15 mins from Puerto Del Sol and you can pretty much walk down one road directly to the centre. The hotel is lovely inside with charm and character. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are maintained to a good standard with reasonable equipment. Our only comment would be that the aircon was largely ineffective which could be more of an issue in the warmest months.

I hit the jackpot with this wonderful modern hotel when my mom and I visited Madrid for several days in October 2017. The hotel is in a historic building located at a great location in the chic Chamberí district of central Madrid. There are lots of good restaurants in the area. Our elegantly appointed, clean and quiet rooms with beautiful street views were first class, and the front-desk staff could not have been more friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Everybody’s English was impeccable. A special note of appreciation goes to Sr. Miguel Angel who went out of his way to make our visit so memorable. The NH Alonzo Martinez Hotel is within a half hour walk of Puerta del Sol, Mercado de San Miguel and the theater district, with the Alonso Martinez metro station under five minutes’ walk and Bilbao Metro under ten minutes. The property serves an excellent but rather expensive full breakfast; Crane Cafeteria and Bar Santander (by Alonso Martinez Metro) can be a good alternative option for breakfast and there are other options in the area. Restaurant and housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day during our stay, and they were very kind to my mom. The hotel’s Wi-Fi was more than adequate. I will definitely return to this hotel, and I highly recommend it.

Great location right in the heart of Madrid. Within easy walking distance of the closest Metro Station, fantastic looking building. Friendly greeting at reception and quick check-in process. Breakfast does not start until 8am on a Sunday, so didn't get to try as I had an early departure the following morning. Rooms and facility were clean and as expected. Highly recommended.

A friend had booked this hotel for us to spend the last couple of nights in Madrid after a week of travelling through the country. Our friend booked a superior room for us and I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel is classed as a 3 star hotel but the superior room is up there with the 5 star top hotels. We had room 601 which had everything we needed to relax. A tv, speaker with docking station for our iPod. We were welcomed with chocolates, cakes, and bottled water (all complimentary) as well as the extras in the fridge that you can use and pay for. The bathroom was amazing with a bath for soaking, an enormous shower, large sink area, bathrobes, slipper, towels and adequate toiletries. The beds were extremely comfortable and the views from the window beautiful. The hotel is situated within minutes walk of great shops, underground and masses of restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was amazing with a choice of hot and cold food. They even offered lactose free milk amongst the many other types of milk. I can't fault it, although I do not recommend that you stand on the balcony as the building is very old. It's worth paying for the superior room.
