Rooms are small but beds are very comfortable. Large bathrooms and everything is clean and tidy. Robes provided. Reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful !! The hotel is a close walk to shops/bars/tourist bus stop/metro and is nice and quiet. It's around a 20 minute walk to the main center. We were a group of ten (five couples).Great free wi-fi ! Good breakfast.

Definitely worth the money. The quality is good, the rooms are tidy and clean and sunny. The staff is really polite and guided us where, what and when to visit which was really, really helpful to us and saved us lots of time.

Just back from 5 nights in the NH Alonso Martinez. The area of Chamberi was simply the perfect place to be. We could walk into the city centre yet we were away from the busy hustle and bustle. There were lots of lovely restaurants and bars nearby to relax in at the end of a busy day’s sightseeing. Easy to get to from the airport, get the metro to Nuevos Ministereos, change lines and then 2 stops to Alonso Martinez. This hotel has everything you could want in a hotel for a city break in Madrid.... safe, robes, slippers, excellent free WiFi, spotlessly clean, great breakfast and a truly wonderful location just steps away from the Metro. However, I am only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the heat in our room. We visited at the end of March when the weather was exceptionally good, over 20 degrees every day yet the heating was on all the time! We asked about the air conditioning at Reception and were told that it only comes on in summer!! Luckily, we were in a standard room at the back of the hotel so we could open the bedroom, and bathroom, windows every night to create a draught so we were able to sleep. This room faced into an interior courtyard and there was never any noise. Had we been in a superior room, facing the street, I don’t know how we could have slept though. Type in ‘warm room’ or ‘hot’ in the search box here on this TripAdvisor page for the hotel and you will see that we were not alone in finding the rooms uncomfortable, it appears to be a fairly common complaint. So, if visiting again in the heart of a cold winter, or in the middle of summer when the AC is working, I would definitely stay here. If traveling in Spring or Autumn I would look at other hotels in this area.

The location of your hotel is very appropriate for my business. I was very much impressed with the receptionists and they were very friendly. Always ready to help. I will definitely want to come back to the same hotel next time. They made my stay in Madrid pleasant. Nothing to regret.

Enjoyable hotel in the usual line of this brand, well located and connected. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Clean and spacious rooms, well-assorted breakfast. For those politically concerned, I notice that the only newspaper you can found in the common areas is the far-right pamphlet "La Razón".

First-class service and room, excellent cleanliness, superb location in Madrid, also close to a metro station. Moreover is not so far from the Prado museum. The staff was very kind and helped me to solve a small personal problem.

We decided to stay here since it's close to points of interest. We just could not sleep. You can hear EVERYTHING: other rooms, people working outside, doors closing, a woman coughing all night next door. We woke up exhausted for a day of tourism...

Nice and comfortable hotel. Very well located pretty close to the center of the city. And it’s more interesting streets regarding museums, shops, sightseeing...Very kind staff. Delicious and varied breakfast. Nice building

There are few better chain hotels than this in Madrid in terms of where it is and the quality of attention paid to visitors. The hotel has also retained many of the features of the original building, so if you are lucky you get a balcony and stained-glass windows!

Very good hotel for the price. My room had been smoked in a lot, but the front desk told me (at checkout) that they would have changed me had I asked. So ask! I was in a hurry at check-in so I could not. Good breakfast, friendly counter staff (calling cabs, recommending local restaurants, etc), good overall value.
