I stayed here for a few nights on business. Not sure if its a newer hotel in an old building, or if they recently had a renovation, but the hotel was clean and the room was nice and modern. The hotel front desk staff were pleasant and the hotel breakfast was also very good with plenty of breakfast offerings. The location was great as you're within walking distance to good restaurants, cafes, and most of the tourist sites. Overall I had a comfortable stay and would stay here again.

We stayed at the Petit Palace over the Easter weekend and really enjoyed our stay. We had a quadruple room which was spacious and well furnished, it was a little dark with not much natural light coming in, but overall we were very happy with our room. The staff were very welcoming on check-in and we really enjoyed our breakfast which had lots of healthy options. The location was also great and we walked to all the major sites. Unfortunately I stupidly left my bag with my kids when were waiting to leave to go the airport also assuming it would be safe in reception. I came back from the bathroom after being away for maybe one minute and a thief had walked in off the street and lifted it on the way out. It had my life inside - passports, money, phone keys etc. I am not blaming anyone but it ruined our holiday and so I am posting this as a warning to everyone to watch their belongings at all times!

The hotel is in a great location with the metro within walking distance. We chose a superior room with city view and it was excellent - none of the noise that people elsewhere mentioned. Maybe we were lucky. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and airy - very well appointed and modern. The balcony rooms look out onto the plaza and are excellent for people watching. Fifteen minutes walk down Calle Hortaleza is Puerta del Sol so major attractions are not far. There are so many places to eat around here you will not be disappointed. We will definitely return soon.

The rooms are chic, with no balcony, the bathroom is large and daily cleaning is done. Plastic slippers are needed because the water coming from the shower does not leak anywhere. Bathroom ventilation can be better. Breakfast is buffet style, you can eat organic products, jamon, omelets, yogurt, various juices, coffee, etc. You can find food for all tastes. Positioning in downtown Madrid is a plus. The total stay at Petit Palace Santa Barbara was a pleasant experience.

"Never again. Noisy, noisy and No sleep." *the worst hotel experience we ever had: *noise everywhere: from the side street because of drunk/noisy people and ton's of bottels in the huge garbage disposal. Horrible noise. *bathroom has no lock on the door and there is a gap . Not a good choise with kids. *breakfast had many choises ...but Boring after 2 days. And there was always a lack in tea spoons and not a selection of tresh white bread. BUT THE STAFF - THE 2 LOVELY LADIES WERE THE NICEST AND THE MOST POSITIVE THING AT THIS HOTEL. *when we arrived- I payed for a room for 4 .even though we were 3.since I wanted a room with a large window and not in the attic. But we received an attic room . BE AWARE: THERE IS A TINY EINDOW AND LOW CEILING. NO LIGHT. The lady did shiw us 2 other rooms saying:"ALL THE ROOMS AT THE 4 th floor are WITH A SMALL WINDOW". Which turned out Not true. At our last day- when the manager told me that there are othert suoerior rooms as well. Also- on the websites (the hotels +booking+ others, the picture of the room for 4 is with a big window and the room for 3 is with a tiny one and low ceiling). We were moved to room 110. Right at the othet corner of a JAZZ CLUB. And a huge garbage bin.And I was promised it was VERY QUITE. The first night was o.k The second: HORRIBLE!. BASS noises from a club. No sleep. I HAD TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM AT 2 IN THE MORNING AND WAKE MY CHILDREN. The other room :308 was OLD. There was a crack in the ceiling and the floor was sinking in parts of the room. Again- noise from the people at the plaza. But - since it was a vacation, I decided to try and enjoy. UNTILL 2 NIGHTS AFTER: THE CRACK IN THE CEILING GREW BIGGER AND WATER STARTED DROPPING ON US. I called the staff again. And they moved us to 2 rooms, Me and my younger son in the first room and my older son 2 rooms from us. We had to pack everything again. In the morning - the manager (she was very nice), told us she was sorry for the water in the room and said thery closed this room and the 2 rooms above it. And asked:"There are SUPERIOR ROOMS IN THE 4'TH FLOOR WITH LARGER WINDOWS. YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THEM". I was shocked!! The staff was very nice. The lovely ladies helped us reserve tickets to warner park and a taxi and restaurant. They were really nice and did their best . Especially the 2 lovely ladies at breakfast: they always smiled . The location - was convenient .close to everything. Breakfast had lots of options. The pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was a good size.

We stayed here for three nights. On our second night the fire alarm went off at 4AM just on our floor. No one even comes to tell us what is going on we find out from other guests that there is a pipe burst. The alarm keeps going for over an hour. The next morning we go down to inquire about the issue and the staff just complains about difficult her night was dealing with it. There was no apology no concession made for the disruption it caused us. The rooms were average and clean but the location wasn’t the most convenient to the city center.

Very upset after payed twice the same 3 nights. I made a mistake, because I reserved firstly on wrong dates for distraction. Something the hotel has nothing to do with! But, secondly, I explained the error to the hotel, asking for a nice and good discount for the same nigths on right dates. No accepted! How this policy can retain clients. I just stayed because I had there a couple of friends intalled with their children. PS: breakfast service to forget: no coffee and tea spoons, wet and dirty bread recipients

We stayed three nights at this hotel. It is very well located in a very good and very central area of Madrid. There are many places to have breakfast and eat in the surroundings and to which you can go walking. The hotel is a remodeled and updated petit house with a very modern and beautiful decoration. Being an old building, the rooms have more generous measures than modern hotels. We were in a family room with a master bedroom overlooking the Plaza Santa Barbara that has a small annex with a bunk for the kids and a comfortable bathroom. The attention of the staff was very pleasant and professional. The bed is really comfortable and everything in the hotel is very clean and careful.

This Hotel is in a perfect location for all sight seeing, and very close to the Metro. The room was spotless, the staff are helpful, the food at breakfast was superb, only drawback the coffee machine is not the easiest to use, most struggled with it. If i visited the Hotel again I would ask for a quiet room, we were in 112 and we found the noise from the streets was quite bad, along with the noise from the bins being emptied at around 2am! Having said that it is a lovely hotel.

I stayed here for a night, picking the hotel primarily because of the proximity to our office just round the corner. It’s a great location, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and only a 3 minutes walk from the Alonso Martínez Metro Station. The rooms are a very generous size, huge walk-in showers, comfortable beds and pillows, strong Wifi, and a well stocked mini bar. I couldn’t find any faults at all with it!! The staff were also very friendly and spoke excellent English, useful given my awful Spanish. My only advice would be to avoid a room at the front of the hotel if you like to sleep with your window open. The bars in the area attract quite a crowd and were quite noisy. However this was no problem for me as the weather meant that I kept the window shut on this trip. Might be more challenging in the summer.
