It was the most unplesant experiece of my life. You must not put white clothes on your bad,if you don't want the cleangirl take it be mistake! And maybe you receive your things if you stay more than 3 days after...more or less distroyed...And the hotel position is...at a four stars hotel...that could be happen...
On older hotel, but still a nice one. I stayed for two nights in a single room and it was really nice. Not close to central Madrid, but I walked there from the hotel. The rates were cheap and rooms were clean. Everything I could ask for. Forgot to mention that breakfast was exorbitantly expensive. I found a nice cafe within a block.
Beautiful 4 star hotel everything was perfect for our anniversary stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Room lovely well laid out and furnished. All areas of hotel clean and well presented. Reception had jars of sweets, fruit and jugs of fresh flavoured water available for guests Late checkout available for little extra. Buffet continental breakfast with breads, meats, yogurts, eggs, bacon, omelette etc etc. Lovely. About 15 minute walk to Gran Via shopping road which didn't mind as get to see authentic Madrid whilst walking the streets. Excellent stay , wonderful city and will definitely return soon.
stayed for a long weekend in august. Reception is below average, check in quite terse and unwelcoming, no information offered on lift location, breakfast area and times or local area. I had to ask for all these as the reception staff seemed disinterested. Another example of this was next night when we inadvertently left key card in the room. I went to reception to secure another one and the receptionist was visibly annoyed and put out, why its your job isn't it. Cleanliness and room were both good and housekeeping was excellent, Bar staff very helpful and courteous, Breakfast was excellent and above average for a chain hotel. Hotel is a bit out of main centre but only about 20 minutes walk, lots of bars and restaurant close by and actually better than city centre tourist trap bars, Would I stay again, yes I would.
Great location, 20 minute taxi ride for 30 euros from airport. Clean, quiet and comfortable. I dont recommend room service as there's so much around the area - just be prepared to walk lots...and we ordered 4 cheese ravioli which was cold. There's a great coffee / breakfast place - Paneria -on the corner as you come out of the hotel and go right - delicious toasted coissants and awesome coffee in a quaint setting. Reception staff very helpful and good command of English - cant say the same for the bar staff who were a little rude an abrupt. There's a small perfect handy store directly opposite the hotel for water (which the hotel does not provide in your rooms), snacks etc. If you're prepared to walk lots you can certainly get to all main attractions as the Palace, Cathedral, Sunday flea market, etc and there's nothing better than walking through classic narrow lanes and stopping for icecream! Enjoy!
We used this hotel for a weekend during our attendance at the Copa del Rey final and had booked a superior room. It was on the top floor and had a good sized balcony with seats and a sun lounger. The hotel was quite expensive but since the football was on I expected to pay more. The location was terrific for the subway but I didn't use any of the hotel facilities. There was a nearby street with some smashing bars and I would stay here again.
Hi all , I stayed at this hotel 4 nights from 19 of July2017 , according the money I paid its very nice hotel with great location 2 minutes walking distance to San bernando metro station , hotel was clean with friendly staff, my room wasn't that big but was nice , very nice park is just a few feet away from entrance , close to a lot of sight seeing. If you don't want to pay a lot I think that's the choice , I take it with out breakfast,
30.00 euros get you direct to hotel. Good quiet location off main roads. Friendly front of house staff- Victoria ( intern) was especially helpful. Main lobby and bar smart. Bedroom good size, nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. 10 mins walk to metro and then a two day travel pass gets you most places in Madrid. Very Very hot this week. Used the tourist open top bus to hop-on-off sites. Loved the tapas bars , meal at Mecado de la Reina and cocktails at del Diegos. Excellent city break.
Conveniently located near the Metro (10 metro tickets for 12.20 E). Can walk to the city center but it's a very long walk on uneven pavement so I highly recommend the metro. Hotel was clean and staff helpful. Plenty to eat for breakfast (spanish potato tortilla, bacon, eggs, assorted cold cuts, fruit, breads). Flavored pitchers of water provided in lobby (i.e. mint, lemon, orange). Bathrooms clean but high step into tub. Shower pressure and temperature very good. As other reviewers mentioned, you will not be provided with wash clothes in many European hotels. Soap, shampoo, comb, tiny razor and tiny toothbrush kit in bathroom. Hair dryer. Only downside is the noise, odor and droppings from dog park next door.
We stayed two nights while on a tour of Spain, Portugal and France with Gate 1 Travel. The Gran Hotel Conde Duque was clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and there was no trouble breaking Euro bills into small change. Our room had a working safe but no english language tv channels. Wifi was good and the breakfasts were very good. I really liked the neighborhood. The hotel is located on a small park-like square with some surrounding small stores, restaurants and apartments. The square contains a well used children's playground and a dog playground. The noise of joy from the kids easily drowned out the occasional bark. While the Plaza Mayor is about 1 walking mile away this was a very welcomed neighborhood and hotel to be located in.
