We made reservation via a travel agency It turns out to be a great stay. It is close to all the tourist attractions such as Mayor Square Metro subway etc (about 15 min walk) and eateries. The hotel has friendly staff and decent size rooms, comfortable lobby and about $60 euros if you Uber from the airport.
I stayed here for a total of 4 nights as part of a Globus tour. The location of the hotel is wonderful! It is central, within walking distance of the San Bernardo metro station and lots of great food places and parks. The exterior of the property and the lobby and common areas are both beautiful. The rooms themselves (I was in two different rooms as I spent 2 nights at the beginning of the tour and two nights at the end) are average at best. The furniture is worn, scuffed and damaged and the beds are on wheels and extremely hard. The room was, however, very clean - which is my top priority. Plus of the room is they have nice large bathtubs, great water pressure and good sized bathrooms. Also, staff were consistently friendly and helpful. My biggest issue with this hotel was the food. We had dinner in the hotel twice and both times it was terrible. The food was cold (not warm - cold) and did not taste very good. Also, the wait staff were indifferent and not attentive when it came to drinks, etc. I'm not sure if it is because the two meals we had there were built in to the cost of our tour, but this is the only place which we stayed that the food was bad. I was extremely disappointed. When I return to Madrid, I may consider staying here again based on the location, but it would heavily depend on the price of the room. I definitely would not eat here or pay more than $100 Euro or so for a room, as it isn't worth more than that.
Stayed two nights. Nice upscale lobby area - very spacious and comfortable. Room okay. Beds and mattresses were great. Breakfast buffet was 4-star. Had smoked salmon, etc. Hotel is 4 metro stops from city center. Taxi fare from Prado was 7.45 euro. Hotel staff were very helpful.
This is a very nice hotel. We stayed here from 7 -14 April this year and had a lovely holiday exploring this beautiful city. We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the square and it had a lovely wee balcony. We walked everywhere from this hotel and, although exhausted by the end of most days we had a great time. The hotel is clean and welcoming and it is well worthwhile purchasing the breakfast offer. Loads to choose from and, although not piping hot (heat lamps!) It was very tasty. We bought the 2 day hop on hop off tourist bus ticket and took advantage of one of the free walking tours as well.
not in the center of old Madrid but near one of the metro stops and easy to get into the center of the city. Room fairly large. Beds comfortable and clean. Large safe. Enough electrical outlets. Free and fast Wi-Fi. Lots of hot water in the shower. Towels large and fluffy. Had a small balcony that overlooked parking but I could see the mountains in the distance and I liked having it there. The breakfast was fairly good with lots of choices. I didn’t like the dinner I had there but it was a tour dinner so take it as you would.
Muy bien hotel. Cómodo y bien ubicado. Friendly and helpful staff. As soon as we arrived they tried to give us the best service. And after all, they speak English. The only bad thing is that the rooms are not soundproof, you can listen the tv playing from the neighbor room.
It is a charming nice hotel with some own characteristics and style. The location is very good too, next to the metro and 20 min walk from the very centre. The area where the hotel is located is great too, with many nice local bars and restaurants. Breakfast is fantastic, does worth every cents! Highly recommended and really cannot complain about anything.
The hotel itself is lovely. Full of character and a good location. Sound proofing the rooms could be better though as could staffing the hotel bar. I was left waiting for 10 minutes whilst the only barman was dealing with another person (who arrived at the bar after me). Also the room cleaner was a little eager. We got the impression she just wanted us out of the room so she could get finished
I am currently staying at this hotel, have been here one night and have already experienced some issues. The hotel is well kept and nicely decorated. They have candies in the lobby and check in was great. Everything was great..... Until the vacuuming in the halls started at 7 am. Then when trying to shower, it filled up with water and some dirt came out of the drain into the newly created pool. I went down to request a new room and the front desk was no help. They said they'd send up a service man. When I said I'd like to shower now (I had been traveling all day yesterday and was in deep need of a cleansing), he showed me a different room filled with other people's belongings. Hopefully this stay turns around. If it does the rating will go way up!
This was a very nice hotel, we enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and the wifi worked well. The hotel has a feeling of grandeur of past times. There was no problem getting a baby cot in the room, but the cot itself was a bit outdated. The mattress was too small, so we had to stuff the edges with towels, so the baby would not fall between the mattress and the bed frame. This was, however, only a small inconvenience, and overall we were very happy with our stay. Location next to a metro station was convenient.
