A really lovely hotel in a centre .Easy to walk to any of the sights. Breakfast was E6 each and really good value. Free tea and coffee all day , any time. Staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The room was very comfortable. Convenient location - 5 min walk to most attractions (Plaza Mayor, La Latina, etc). Hotel has a common dining area with a coffee machine and selection of teas. There is a very nice breakfast offered in the morning at a nominal cost. There is a very nice patisserie within 5 minute walk: La Mallorquina Note: allergy sufferers may have some difficulty with the dust levels in the room (this could be due to the location as the room did get cleaned on a daily basis).
After along day travelling I arrived late in the evening to be warmly greeted by a friedly competent Receptionist who had me checked in in no time at all - just what I needed. The room was compact but fully functional for my two night stay. The complimentary breakfast offered a good range of food and drink items and siuted me fine. Throughout my stay all the staff were courteous and helpful. The rooom was immaculately clean and comfortable. Whever I am in Madrid in future for a short stay I will definitely use this hotel.
Nice modern hotel. 5 min walk to the plaza mayor with loads of restaurants to choose from at night. Metro station is nice and close as well which can get you to all sights you wish to see. We chose to have the breakfast which saved us going out to find somewhere. There was a few nice bits to choose from to eat and drink. Rooms were comfortable and good for the price you pay. Would definitely stay here again the location is perfect.
The hotel is very well placed for visiting most of the sights Madrid has to offer. There is a convenient metro station not too far away for visits further out of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms very good value.
Nice hotel. Very well located for visiting the old town. A five minute walk to Madrid's old town square. Rooms are plain but comfortable. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The included breakfast was good with a nice choice of foods. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Spain. There is a metro station less than a ten minute walk from the hotel. I would recommend taking the metro from the airport or train station. It will save you money over a taxi and it is very easy to use.
The hotel is well located near the very centre of the city and is only a short walk to all the main streets. The nearest metro station is only 200m away and this gives links to the airport terninals in about 40 mins. The Mayerling is a small hotel with a nice reception area where you are welcome to help yourself to free hot drinks at any time. The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good sized shower and there was a good selection of towels and complimentary toiletries. Our room was quiet as it faced the internal courtyard. Other rooms face the street. The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel offered great value for money. Thoroughly recommended
This hotel was a favourite during our travel to Europe. We arrived early before check in but the friendly front desk staff offered to store our bags and provided us with a map and pointed out local must sees. The room was small but graceful with its balcony overlooking the busy Madrid lifestyle. The beds were comfortable, good air conditioning in the room. The rooms and hotel were very clean and good wifi throughout. Breakfast area is busy but there is enough tables to accommodate for everyone. The location of this hotel is great! Steps away from transit and walking distance to all tourist areas! Very happy with our stay!
I must say that I was a bit disappointed when we got to the hotel and went up to our room. The hotel is located in a rather noisy street with rubbish bins nearby. However, my opinion soon changed. The location of the hotel is very central and so very convenient for walking to many of the points of interest and public transport is very close. There is a very popular plaza nearby which probably explains the noise but as it turned out this did not cause us much of a problem. The room (4001) was of a reasonable size but rather minimalist and modern in terms of decoration and storage space. There was not enough storage to totally unpack our luggage but for a stay of 3 days we managed to cope well enough. The bed large and comfortable. We found it rather unusual that the wash basin was in the main room while there were separate shower and toilette cubicles. Once we got used to this arrangement it turned out quite convenient. The shower cubicle was spacious and the water pressure very strong. We were intrigued by the unusual lighting effects in the shower. By the time we had to leave we were very fond of the room. We were rather concerned at first about the breakfast arrangements since there seemed to be very limited space. As it turned out that was not a problem since there were very few people having breakfast at the times we went (c. 8 am). The selection on offer was a bit limited but there was enough to have a very satisfying breakfast. There is free coffee and juice available 24hrs a day - very nice provision. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Although check-in isn't until 3pm you can leave your luggage in a locked room if you arrive early. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would use it again on our next visit to Madrid.
