Hotel Nuevo Madrid4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel has the worst service I have ever seen. There are cheaper hotels in much smaller places that this hotel could learn some hospitality from. The hotel is bare bones. They provide you with a teaspoon of shampoo and shower gel. There's no anti slip mat in the bathtub. The breakfast is not included in the cost of the hotel. They even charge you €5 per day for a kettle. The best part is despite paying for a kettle, you will not be provided with cups, even on request. You literally get the roof over your head and a place to shower for the price you pay. Worst service of all time. Please do yourself a favour and take your service elsewhere.
I recently stayed at Hotel Nuevo Madrid for 2 days. The service was freindly and inviting. The food was delicious and they were very accomodating. My boyfriend stayed their previously and we came back because the great service. I will be coming here again for my next trip to Madrid.
Highly recommended hotel! A bit far away from the centre but not a problem. Excellent breakfast, very quite, nice place for eating in the afternoon. Book early and get a price that you have never imagined before.I will defiately come back!
A preferred hotel of the company I work for I can't say the hotel's geographical situation corresponded with my work agenda, in other words I wouldn't have chosen the Hotel Nuevo for business on the other side of town, plus it's quite some way from the airport but then I would have missed out on this rather excellent hotel. Check-in, rather late, saw a fully staffed Reception rather than a night attendant and was polite and efficient. The Room, #102, was nicely decorated, in dark brown & beige outfitting, was spacious and the sleep comfort, not bad. The room has the usual media facilities and was equipped with a mini-bar, no time to test the first but tried and appreciated the second. Breakfast was what I was hoping for and satisfied this seasoned professional's philosophy of "Have a good breakfast, you don't know when the next meal will be". The buffet, 17€, contained all the universal ingredients, including the ubiquitous scrambled eggs, but also regional specialties, such as Spanish hams and chorizo sausages, tortillla, pastries etc, but also fresh orange juice and fried eggs, something you rarely get and justifies the 17€. Check out was quick and efficient Finally, the hotel itself merits a few words. The design is modern but not cold, the architecture is interesting, not the usual functional block of rooms designed for optimal occupancy. The hotel reminded me briefly of the Oryx Rotana in Doha, but only briefly. The Hotel Nuevo, is in my opinion, while less opulent in colour, more discreet and for that it marks points for me. Stay again? Yes, whether business or in couple, the hotel has a wellness centre my wife would certainly appreciate.
Confortable and nicely decorated rooms, very good breakfast (but only if you are not into hot buffets at this time of the day, for that part was really weak) and safe garage for those travelling by car. We were served really, really well by a young waiter at the restaurant during a fine late lunch. The service at the front desk, however, is just average - as is the location, a bit far from the subway and also from downtown area. The dry sauna was really nice, but the jacuzzi, unfortunately, had an awful sulphurous smell.
Introduction: We stayed in this hotel during a weekend trip with my partner in March 2017. My overall impression is good, I liked the contemporary design, the well-sized room, the soft comfy bed and the wide selection of the buffet breakfast. My overall rating for this hotel is 4/5, keep on reading for further details. Location (3/5): The hotel is relatively close to the airport but there is no metro station nearby. The best option is to drive, it takes 10 minutes or less. We took a taxi from the airport and paid 22.70 EUR. Uber is around 16-18 EUR. If you rent a car the hotel has parking but it costs 17 EUR per night. We found that parking is easy in the nearby streets and it is free of charge. Traveling to the city center takes 30-40 minutes by bus. Driving is again much faster, 10-15 minutes tops. Parking in the city is relatively easy in the large underground parking lots. We paid 7 EUR for 3 hours in the heart of the city. Bus and metro ticket costs 1.50 EUR, can be purchased from the bus driver or from the ticket machine at the metro stations. I gave the location 3 stars out of 5 due to the distance of the metro station and shopping facilities. Exterior (4/5): The building has a sleek modern design, a very small outside sitting area and no pool. Interior (5/5): The hall has a really nice contemporary design, there is a bar, a spa, a gym and the reception. There are 3 elevators running from the garage (-2) through the restaurant (-1) to all the floors. I could not find any mistake in the design, the arrangement, the accessibility and the comfort. Rooms (4/5): Rooms are pretty basic, we stayed in a standard room. Size is above average, furniture is a bit dated but everything works well. The bed is very comfy and soft, there are extra pillows in case you need them. There is a desk with a chair, an armchair, two bedside tables and a luggage holder. The flat screen TV is wall mounted and a good size (approx. 32"). The bathroom is relatively large, lots of marble, extra bidet, a bath with shower panel, a hair dryer mirrors above the tap and the side wall with an extra shaving mirror. There is also a built-in cupboard with a safe in the hallway and mini bar under the desk. Air conditioning is in every room and was working OK (a little bit loud at full speed). The window is large, sun protector is installed but the room can be still pretty hot. The window can be opened to let in fresh air. I found the room convenient but I gave it 4 stars due to the dated furniture. There is free wifi in the room and basically everywhere within the hotel. The internet speed is very fast (40/40mbit). There are plenty of channels on the TV but most of them are Spanish. Room overall is very quiet if you turn off the AC. Service (4/5): The overall service is OK, staff is friendly and can speak good English at the reception. Cleaners and other staff did not understand English at all (we asked where is the restaurant and they did not understand although the word is very similar in Spanish). I asked an adaptor from the reception as we had UK plugs - they had only one adaptor which was not working so I had to buy one in the supermarket for 5 EUR. The buffet breakfast is good, there are plenty of choices but could be more vegetables. There is a Spa and a Gym but you have to pay for it although they give some discount. Price (5/5): The price is really reasonable compared to other hotels in Madrid (we paid around 50 EUR per night in off season). Pricing of the buffet breakfast is interesting, we paid 17 EUR per person on Friday and 11.50 EUR on Saturday for the same service. Summary (4/5): In my opinion, the hotel is well worth the price but I would recommend renting a car as getting to the tourist attractions could take a long time by public transport. We enjoyed our stay and overall I would recommend this hotel.
This is a comfortable hotel; good bedrooms, good staff. There is a bar open quite late, serving snack meals, and a good lounge area. Reasonable internet speed, available throughout. We have stayed here several times.
The AC was broken, the beds were hard, the staff was bad at English, the covers too small for the bed(strangely), the restaurant embarrassingly bad(they gave me over cooked, very oily lamp chops on top of 1€crisps... one of the worst meals I've had, ever). The elevator straight down to the garage was great though, and the hotel overall had a fresh and classy feel to it.
I first want to speak of the room that I stayed in a suite, upon arriving in the room it was horrible from hot and it smelled like moffo the hot air coming out of the airconditioning. We stayed two nights, we arrived in good health and we left, my husband and his son with influenza because of the poor circulation of the device and not done cleaning maintenance accumulating bacteria that left us constipated. Breakfast, one of the worst breakfast I've ever tasted in all the hotels I've been to, even the stomach aches I've had. Besides the few options, the part that served hot was not hot food unfortunately, fruits - very poor only melon and oranges,Horrible experience. Remembering that the small lunch is paid and not cut of the hotel, now imagine if the small lunch was offered the hotel as it would be? In my opinion this hotel is far from taking 4 stars. .
I stayed here for the night on a stop-over. I know Madrid very well, having lived there for 20 years. This hotel was more than reasonable. It cost myself and another person only 50 euros the room with two twin beds for one night. The beds are super comfortable, bedooms and bathroom with hairdryer are very clean and the staff could not have been friendlier. We had dinner in the bar on the ground floor, delicious and again very reasonable, and then not having paid for the all-inclusive breakfast had 2 croissants and 2 coffees the next morning in the restaurant on the -1 floor. That was less than 5 euros. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel if you are in Madrid for a stop-over. Don't bother about paying for the carpark as there are plenty of spaces on the streets nearby to park for free. If you are in Madrid to see the sights, it is a little isolated, but there are buses and the metro station can get you into the centre in next to no time at all.
