We booked a room with a queen bed. However, We arrived to the hotel and was a couple in front of us that also booked a room with a queen bed and they say to them that there were not more rooms left with a queen bed so they had to take 2 twin bed Then was our turn and happens exactly the same no more queen bed and they gave us 2 twin bed I asked the women in the front desk how many rooms they had with queen bed and she say that she doesn’t know I have the feeling that they have only 1 or 2 rooms with queen bed and the rest with twin bed. But in the webpage the offer queen beds... The worst part is that even if 2 friends want 2 twin bed. The beds are one next to each other We go on vacation so we don’t watch tv. But just to let you know if you want to watch the tv. Is behind the bathroom and is literally impossible to watch it from the bed The location is great. Just next to plaza mayor. And all the main things to do However is too close to a few bars, so you can hear noise all night till 4am!!! So bring earplugs if you want to sleep

The location and proximity to areas of interest was great.

What an excellent hotel. The location made us feel that we were in medival Spain. Plaza Mayor is a great location to be in. The hotel felt like home everything was so clean. Great shower good water pressure & had enough hot water all the time. We had a balcony which was excellent. The room had a thermostat that we could regulate the temperature. There is a mini fridge in the room. You just have to ask for a kettle love my tea in the am. Bed was very comfortable lots of pillows. The staff went above & beyond. Edwardo brought my bags up to my room without me even asking what a surprise. We had left them there in the am since our room wasn’t ready. Helen answered all my questions and I had many she never made me feel like I was a nuisance. She always answered with a smile. Elena & Gabriel we’re also very helpful. But Jon on the night shift was the best. He helped me with problems on the computer that were in Spanish, he explained Spanish customs to me, talked about GOT & shared our ideas. I truly felt I made a friend. That I was taken care of so superbly. If ever I would return to Spain I will definitely be staying here my home away from home.

The only negative thing I want to say is that A/C wasn’t working, only warm air was coming out. It was extremely stuffy and we were supposed to sleep with the open balcony, which means tons of noises.

Great location. Nice hotel, very clean and a pleasant stay. Have stayed here multiple times.

Great location! Staff was very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable

Location is good. However, bad sewer smell was terrible.

The hotel room was smaller than anticipated but more than adequate for our family of four The staff were excellent and accommodating. The location was central to old and new on the city center.

The pros: absolutely perfect location, right in the heart of the city. Hotel is quite good overall, with interesting room layouts, a nice tiny porch to revel in being in Madrid, and well-appointed furniture. The cons: The hotel needs a makeover. Mold stains on the ceiling, water stains around the sink. Not quite up to snuff for what we paid for it. The front desk staff is plenty friendly, but terribly overworked: they all seemed to be trying to do three things at once at all times, which means that their attention is divided, making check-in and check-out inefficient.

Very average, chain-like interiors and amenities. But location cannot be better and most staff are very good

A typical Spanish building at a great location. Close to Metro. The receptionist gave us clear directions about how to change metros to get to the airport (3 lines, easy to change from one to the next, takes about 40 minutes). No complaints at all.

beautiful boutique hotel near plaza del sol. small hotel with all the things you need. nice room, good breakfast

Good location , nice And clean . , good price with breakfast . Walking distance to everuthing. Good place

My wife & I booked this hotel due to the reviews and 4 star rating. While the location is great the hotel is old and not in good condition. The hallways stunk of cigarettes and the bed was a hard spring mattress. We immediately checked out and get a room at the ME not too far away.

A boutique hotel with a central location. The room was clean, however our room was located off the street and was a bit noisy. We stay here again because of location.

We had a good experience in this hotel. Very well located and perfect for those that want to travel and walk Madrid.

We had a great experience at this hotel! We booked through this site and got a great deal on it. It was clean, modern, situated right outside the Plaza Mayor next to a small cafe, small but adequate, and a 5 minute walk to Puerta Del Sol (and the metro stop located there). We would definitely stay here again!

Dear guest, Let me thank you first of all for the time taken on submitting your review. All of them let us improve and give us the opportunity to explain what it happened. It is not possible to book a room with queen bed when you make the booking. There are two different double room types in the hotel. The small double room, and the standard double room. All small double rooms have queen bed, and when a standard is booked, there are some of them with king size bed and some of them with twin beds. There aren´t just 1 or 2 rooms with king beds, there are 20. When a standard double room is booked, the bed is always under availability, and it is never confirmed unless this rooms type always has the double bed (as the small type or the superior type). Regarding the TV, they are all on the wall but they can be moved by an articulated arm. In spite of this, we´d like you to have had a better stay with us because I can assure you this is our daily goal. I wish we had another chance to see you again in your next visit to Madrid. Best regards Eduardo Gómez Experience Manager

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review following your recent visit to Petit Palace Posada del Peine Hotel. I appreciate your feedback and while I’m pleased to read your positive comments about our great location and service, I am sorry to read that you found a bad sewer smell, please accept my apologies for the disappointment this would have caused. Being an older historic townhouse property from 1610, here is also sometimes a strange smell from outside affecting our entrance. We all look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel very soon at which time we will spare no effort in providing you with the perfect stay. KInd Regards, Chema Sánchez General Manager
