Location is good. However, bad sewer smell was terrible.

The hotel room was smaller than anticipated but more than adequate for our family of four The staff were excellent and accommodating. The location was central to old and new on the city center.

The pros: absolutely perfect location, right in the heart of the city. Hotel is quite good overall, with interesting room layouts, a nice tiny porch to revel in being in Madrid, and well-appointed furniture. The cons: The hotel needs a makeover. Mold stains on the ceiling, water stains around the sink. Not quite up to snuff for what we paid for it. The front desk staff is plenty friendly, but terribly overworked: they all seemed to be trying to do three things at once at all times, which means that their attention is divided, making check-in and check-out inefficient.

Very average, chain-like interiors and amenities. But location cannot be better and most staff are very good

A typical Spanish building at a great location. Close to Metro. The receptionist gave us clear directions about how to change metros to get to the airport (3 lines, easy to change from one to the next, takes about 40 minutes). No complaints at all.

beautiful boutique hotel near plaza del sol. small hotel with all the things you need. nice room, good breakfast

Good location , nice And clean . , good price with breakfast . Walking distance to everuthing. Good place

My wife & I booked this hotel due to the reviews and 4 star rating. While the location is great the hotel is old and not in good condition. The hallways stunk of cigarettes and the bed was a hard spring mattress. We immediately checked out and get a room at the ME not too far away.

A boutique hotel with a central location. The room was clean, however our room was located off the street and was a bit noisy. We stay here again because of location.

We had a good experience in this hotel. Very well located and perfect for those that want to travel and walk Madrid.

We had a great experience at this hotel! We booked through this site and got a great deal on it. It was clean, modern, situated right outside the Plaza Mayor next to a small cafe, small but adequate, and a 5 minute walk to Puerta Del Sol (and the metro stop located there). We would definitely stay here again!

Great location! You can walk anywhere from there. Safe area. Tons of places to eat and shop nearby. One needs to keep in mind it is an old hotel which has been remodeled with a European and modern look. Some rooms are better than others. The staff wants to make sure the guests are happy and if you don't like your room they will change it upon availability. They make every effort to make sure you are comfortable. We did not like the first room they assigned us so they changed us to another one we liked better. They made arrangements for airport transportation. It lacks amenities such as gym, pool, etc. but with so much to do in Madrid it is not needed. Definitely would recommend.

This hotel was just great. Besides being in a great location, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was modest but given the price quite nice. If you need quiet to sleep, the room facing the street would not be your place - Madrid is active late into the night and i could hear most everything. I would return again - great value.

Just a few seconds walk from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, this hotel is right in the middle of it all. Despite receiving a smoking room, there was no bad smell and the room was very clean. The breakfast every morning was nice and reasonably priced.

This hotel could not be better located for a tourist - easy walking distance to prime tourist attractions, shopping, transportation hubs, and restaurants. Amenities left something to be desired - small rooms with high ceilings, very firm mattress's(no box spring), carpet needed a good cleaning and limited plastic furniture - hotel is advertised as high tech - laptop and very modern designed bathroom features. Breakfast buffet was a good deal at $11.00 for well prepared food - we had a huge breakfast and skipped lunch. For the traveler interested in room comfort and ambiance I do not recommend this hotel - for the traveler on a budget who's wants to be in the center of the old city, the location could not be better - young travelers will appreciate it more than older travelers. This is not a 4 star facility.

Staff was extremely helpful, location is fantastic, very central next to Plaxa Mayor and walking distance to Palace, Musuem, Gran Via, La Latine area. Hotel is well kept and Boutique-like with modern facilities. Great value for dollar and keeps away from hectic Gran Via street where many people stay in hotels

Although I at first was concerned because the hotel is on a very busy pedestrian street (and, let's face it, Spain rocks more at night than in the morning), I was pleasantly surprised that the noise from the street was not a problem as the windows seal off the sounds from the crowds on the streets below the hotel. You are definitely in a great location and close to a metro station, with great dining in the Plaza Mayor practically next to the hotel. There's also a good tapas/pinchos bar with inexpensive beers next to the hotel.

Just around the corner from Plaza Mayor and a very short walk to Plaza Sol, in the heart of it all! The actually room was small but well done. More timid travelers may not like to frosted glass doors for the bathroom, ours was really a room for couples. Staff was great and the price was good. Having a room with a computer was a very nice touch that I had never had in a hotel before. Even though our room was on the first floor, they windows are excellent at keeping the noise out and the street behind the hotel was usually very quiet.

great location, very friendly and well informed staff, close to all main Madrid attractions and great food.

Very good hotel, excellently located in the hart of Madrid, on a walking distance to all major museums, and surrounded by many many restaurants. Proffessional, pleasant, and very helpful staff. WI-FI connections, and laptops in every room. For additional price, an excellent breakfast buffet is offered. Rooms are pretty small, but still ok.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review following your recent visit to Petit Palace Posada del Peine Hotel. I appreciate your feedback and while I’m pleased to read your positive comments about our great location and service, I am sorry to read that you found a bad sewer smell, please accept my apologies for the disappointment this would have caused. Being an older historic townhouse property from 1610, here is also sometimes a strange smell from outside affecting our entrance. We all look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel very soon at which time we will spare no effort in providing you with the perfect stay. KInd Regards, Chema Sánchez General Manager
