Bait and switch. Although I had with Orbitz a reservation for one "double bed" room "classic," the reception placed us in a poor room with two single beds and one cot. When I told them this was not correct, they "upgraded" me for an addition cost of ten euros to a classic room with a double bed. Later that evening, after I showed the reception desk my Orbitz itinerary with a room picture stating one double bed, they cancelled the extra ten euros. They also were "not sure" that breakfast was in eluded until I again pointed this included amenity on the Orbitz itinerary. Overall experience poor!

On our trip on Iberia from Athens to Chicago, we had to layover for one night. The hotel has a free airport shuttle that is easy to locate and runs every fifteen to twenty minutes and a number to call if there is any problem. The beds and bedding were very confortable; the room had a bath and separate shower and included amenities such as a toothbrush /toothpaste, razor/shaving gel and robes; and a restaurant onsite. The breakfast was very good, but the dinner buffet was average. For dinner, I would recommend ordering Ala carte from the menu. We were happy for the restaurant as we arrived late evening, but there is also a McDonalds next door. It was a very pleasant stay and will now try other Melia hotels.

Fabulous hotel staff and room. I highly recommend staying here.

The place is very nice. Big hotel that feels luxurious. The rooms are not huge, but they were very clean and comfortable. The bed was pretty comfortable, but not the best one I have slept in, but this was not a big deal. The lounge was nice, and the staff at the hotel were all very solicitous. Definitely a very good deal. If I had known about the shuttle to and from the airport that the hotel operates, I would have saved myself 20 Euros in cab fare, but the van ride the next day to the airport was short, on time and pleasant.

Surprised by the size of the room, really big.

Typical airport hotel. You will not experience Melia. Better off staying somewhere cheaper.

The buffet is good. Only found bathtub hard to get in and has poor safety features. High risk for falls

This was a very nice hotel. We stayed there the night before our flight out of Madrid. It is close to the airport and has a shuttle to the airport free of charge. It is far from the actual city attractions but if all you want to do is stay at the hotel and your only destination is to and from the airport this is a great hotel.

This hotel was an excellent choice. Very comfortable. The breakfast is the best we had in our trip for different countries. The staff is highly professional, helpful, kind and friendly. Next trip to Madrid we will come back to Melia. Y

We stay here for just one day not to loose our connection to Lima, Peru. The hotel staff is very gentle. Has a free shuttle to the airport and the breakfast buffet is a very reasonable value for money. I totally recommend this hotel for a short stay in Madrid.

They sent a van to the airport to bring me to the hotel, the guys at the front desk were nice and polite. I like the room that has a very comforttable bed,. The breakfast is very good. And they sent me back to the airport free of charge.

A nice location closer to the airport , easy access to Madrid . The hotel would advice you the way to visit the city .

I thought this was a great option to rest between flights during a business trip. It is close to the airport and of great quality.

This hotel is one of the best hotels in Madrid. It was clean , nice for the price and the staff was amazing. I totally recommend it for travelers :)

Love this hotel, I could not be happier with my experience, good location, good value and the room was clean too

Shuttle van service was excellent; room itself attractively furnished, comfortable king size bed, bathroom well-appointed. BUT: Front desk staff not extraordinarily friendly (neither at check in nor out); no water in the swimming pool and no comment about nor apology for this; wedding reception permitted to continue in outdoor courtyard until after 2 AM... at checkout I heard an airline captain clearly state that he expects his crews in future should not be lodged on courtyard side. Overall: fell short of potential; perhaps stay at plainer IBIS across the street for less money and lower probability of wedding receptions ? (and pool won't be empty because they don't have one)

Hotel is impecible. I'm just sorry we couldn't stay there longer. We needed a one night stay close to the airport and when I booked the hotel for one night had no idea how confortable, spacious, clean, friendly staff this remarkable hotel has. Next time we come to Madrid we would like to stay few days just to enjoy the hotel, pool and its luxury.

This hotel seemed to have once been a five star class of hotel but the facilities are aging. But the staff was pleasant and helpful form the security guard trying very hard to answer your questions on "where is a local market?" in broken English. Everyone I interacted with had a positive attitude. The shuttle buses need to be labeled better as several hotels use similar buses and I allowed two buses to go by before I realized they were the bus I needed. You do not have to call the hotel for the shuttle. It runs continuously. As for the market, it is a two minute walk from the hotel. Limited items, more like a small convenience store.

It has already missed a couple of renovations. The exterior walls need a paint job badly. Interiors are OK.

After a long drive from La Rioja and the expectation of a long return flight the next day, it was very nice to have a very quiet and clean room very close to Barajas Airport.
