Had a great time staying in this hotel during our trip. The room was cleaned regularly, there was a bathtub, they changed our linens everyday plus they gave us complimentary bottled water everyday. Nice hotel to stay.
Yes, if you want peace and quiet from the tourist crowds. You can easily get a free shuttle to and from the ferry jetty, via Sofitel Ponte 16. Just 5 mins walk from Sofitel to the hotel (alleyway beside Koi Kei Bakery - hotel is at the back). About 8 mins walk to Senado Square. For us, it is a good location. (3 adults and a 1 yr old baby - 2 rooms).
First of all, the "Un" in Ole Tai Sam Un is pronounced as "yüen", not "oon". Macau naming oddities, I guess. Me and my family came here during super peak period (Chinese New Year) because they charged us quite a hefty amount for what seems to be a two star hotel. Nonetheless, the hotel's location is for us, worth the price we paid because it is a 15 minute walk to Senado Square, an hour's walk to A-Ma Temple and its right in front of Rua de Felicidiade. Not only that, right opposite the hotel is a great porridge shop that serves huge meatballs (pork), the famous Koi Kei Bakery is two to three shops away (there are also competitors even nearer to us), tons of Chinese restaurants around us, two Sino-Portuguese restaurants within pleasant walking distance and a really affordable Cha Chan Teng a slight distance away. Hotel-side, their staff can speak in English, albeit haltingly. Hotel rooms are clean and bright, although, as in many Chinese-speaking countries, the toilets come with no bidet...and with this hotel, the gap between the doors can prove to be quite a privacy issue. Note: The offer for this hotel you see on booking sites such as Booking.com may not include VAT and service charge, and you may be charged extra in your credit card bill.
-hidden in an alley which some of the taxi driver would not know it -room is not too small (fit for two pieces of big luggage) and equipped with what you need -room is clean -affordable price -walking distance to all tourist attractions and some famous casino hotels -friendly and helpful staff and able to speak in English and Mandarin -can store luggage for free if you arrive earlier than check in time
Good location very near to all tourist spot ( Chinese heritage alley) and food. The front desk staffs are friendly and helpful. Room and toilet very small but clean. Opposite the hotel is a must try porridge.
I decided to stay at this hotel because of its good rating in tripadvisor. I was OK with the room (it was clean and neat) until I spotted a moldy water kettle (needed a clean one to boil water for my baby). Called the receptionist for a change and was quickly brushed away by "no extras as all rooms were full". I went to the receptionist and told him he could try a little harder than that.. He promptly went to the kitchen and gave me another water kettle with a worse condition. He then suggested for us to get a new one from a supermarket. I would not return.
The room is small but cozy. The hotel is located in the city area (close to the happiness road) near Senado Square (about 5 mins walk) so it is so comfortable for travel and foods. All staffs are friendly and helpful.
The hotel was small but clean .Unfortunately no one spoke English here and most of the other passengers were mainland Chinese. Though it was very central, the road along which it was either on sale or boarded up. Some were even being torn down. The room was not cleaned at all even though I told the room maid to do so. There was no manager to complain to and after 2 days I was glad to leave. The breakfast was cold and nothing was filled up again.
The hotel is small and very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient for us to walk to the places of interest like Senado Square, St Paul Ruins, Macao Museum, St Dominic's Church and all the nice eating places. It is also safe to walk back to hotel at night
The hotel is situated in a cosy Neighbourhood and is within 15 min walking distance to Senado square. Quite a strategic location. I do feel that this hotel previously may be shophouse converted to a hotel. So guest staying here may have a chance to stay in a real traditional house. This hotel is quite popular and it was fully booked on the day I checked-in and checked-out. I did spend some time Google to get to this hotel. And, actually it is quite near to the Ponte 16 Sofitel hotel, around 20min walking distance.
