Excellent location, Very helpful and friendly staff. Small bedrooms but OK by London standards. Excellent breakfast although service here a little rushed although it was not particularly busy at the time

We booked this hotel as its location is near to the Albert Hall where we were going to a concert, 5 minutes walk. Was very impressed when we entered the hotel, friendly welcome from reception. Room was small but adequate for sleeping in, comfortable bed and air conditioning which was a bonus when we were there due to hot spell. small shower but clean bathroom with showergel/soap available. Tea & coffee in the room. Had a room overlooking the road on the 4th floor but did not really hear any noise. The hotel has a nice bar area which we enjoyed relaxing in after the concert. Good selection on offer at breakfast including a mix of hot and cold food, fresh fruit, lovely freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is a short walk to Gloucester Road or South Kensington tube stations and there are lots of restaurants and bars in Gloucester road for dinner. Would definitely stay again if visiting London.

This is a lovely hotel, the staff is very nice and helpful and the rooms are extremely clean. We stayed here when we went to Excel for an expo and it was easy to reach. The underground station is close. I enjoyed the breakfast as well, overall a good stay. There are restaurants and pubs in the area as well, for a late dinner or beers.

The Queens Gate hotel is in a fantastic location to visit the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History, Science and V&A museums. Some rooms are quite small but are well appointed, the self service breakfast is of a good standard with vegetarians well catered for and the hotel has a pleasant bar. It is generally well priced for London and for travelling further afield from the museum area, the Gloucester Road and South Kensington tube stops are not far away. Ultimately everything is of a pleasing standard without being exceptional.

Great location for our primary purpose--a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The room was fine for size and comfort, but we were traveling with family and heard that our room was much larger than theirs. Staff was wonderful. We were happy with the bar and especially the patio area just off the bar, since the weather was nice. There was a charge for breakfast, but we all agreed it was very good.

The exterior of the hotel is lovely - white Georgian front and in a neighborhood of similar homes. The area has a comfortable safe feeling. The reception area is small. Our room was very large for a major city hotel. We had three single beds, large windows facing the street, a desk and plenty of storage and chairs. The hotel is old so everything is not glistening and our room could have used a coat of paint. However the room was clean. The beds were comfortable with average linens. Being at the front of the hotel, it was a little noisy at times from traffic but there was no pedestrian noise as the hotel is in a residential area. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and the food was hot. There is a machine that squeezes fresh orange juice which was a major hit with our family. Given the size of our room, the location and the buffet breakfast we felt it was a very good buy for the money even though the reception desk personnel were not particularly helpful.

I stayed at the Queen's Gate Hotel in June 2017. When I booked the hotel, the pictures of the room type I selected showed a large room. When I checked in, the room was a queen bed with about 1.5 feet of space on all sides and a closet sized bathroom. It looked nothing like the pictures. Additionally, the room type promised an approximate size of 18 square meters. I measured the room (bathroom included) and it measured a mere 13 square meters. This is an enormous difference in spaces this small, and was a straight up lie on the website. I immediately returned to the desk and asked for a room comparable to what had been promised and was told the hotel was fully booked, but an upgrade was available that I could pay extra for. This was an entirely unacceptable solution, and these deceitful business practice makes me unable to recommend this property. The hotel was nicely decorated and clean; however the entire lobby smelled of cigarette smoke throughout my stay, and the view from my room was of a dirty dark alley.

Booked this hotel mostly based on location and photos on their website. The hotel is strange, room had two single beds pushed together, walls were paper thin, window sounded like it was going to blow in during the night. Bathroom was small. Bar area was tiny and diner was like something from the microwave. Plus points, staff are very good and breakfast was decent

Stayed at the Queen's Gate while on a recent tour of London and Paris. We arrived early on Easter morning after a long overnight flight from the U.S., not expecting to find our rooms available at that hour on a busy holiday weekend. However, the staff at the front desk were very efficient in locating recently vacated rooms and having them cleaned and ready for us in a very expedient manner. The hotel is in a marvelous and safe location, with Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens and Royal Albert Hall just a short walk away. There are also a plethora of shops and restaurants located on Gloucester Road which is also a short distance away as well. The rooms at the Queens Gate are well-appointed, quiet and comfortable, allowing for a restful sleep after a busy day of sightseeing. Would most definitely stay at the Queens Gate again!

Have stayed here twice now. Both times as partner has to visit hospital and hotel is nearby. Hotel is always clean, rooms comfortable and staff helpful. Sarah on front desk always happy and prepared to go out of her way to help. Bar food is ok and breakfast on a par for London. Only complaint is surely not too much too ask for fresh coffee at breakfast rather than from a machine. Will be back in sept for next trip to hospital.
