Cute little hotel in a quiet area of town, yet very centrally located. Staff was very friendly. Rooms had everything you needed, but a bit small and might be an odd shape (at least mine was). Overall it’s a fine place to stay if you are just looking for somewhere rather basic and comfortable. Pros: - Central location, but on a quiet street - Cost efficient - Made to order and continental breakfast - Clean & comfortable Cons/Considerations: - It’s very basic, so don’t expect anything fancy - If you want to take afternoon naps avoid room G3, it’s right by reception so it’s loud when people are checking in and out - I don’t believe there’s an elevator, so if stairs are an issue this might not be the place for you. Breakfast is down one floor from the reception area/ground floor. Overall it’s a decent place to stay if you are on a budget.
Great little hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury. 5 min walk to British Museum. 5 mins by bus from Euston Station (number 73 or 390). Hotel undergoing renovations so there was a bit of noise in the hotel during the day. We asked for a ground floor room as I was traveling with my elderly mother, the hotel gladly accommodated our wishes. Lovely room with a tiny en suite with a powerful shower. In room safe, fridge and ironing board/iron, and hairdryer. Beds were comfy, room was spotless. Not a lot of noise from the main road. Breakfast was fine, the staff were so friendly. Highly recommend for a short stay in central London.
Stayed on business. Ideal location for British Museum and only 20 minute walk to Kings Cross / Oxford Street. Room was spacious, clean and had mod cons. Breakfast was good. Overall a good stay and would visit again - much more friendly that one of the big chain hotels.
Stayed here last week for 3 nights with a friend. Lovely room, very clean, so pleased to have a fridge in our room, bathroom spotless with toiletries. Our only complaint was the heat in the room, however, when we spoke to staff they soon turned heating down for us. Great breakfast, one morning we had to wait for 20mins for a table, which was a real nuisance as put us behind with our busy days itinerary. Hotel is in a great area for West end, Oxford st, Euston, etc, we hardly had to use the underground, walked everywhere. Would stay here again.
Would definitely stay here again. Pros: - clean - refrigerator and safe in-room - breakfast included - quiet - towel warmer rack in bathroom Cons: - no lift (we asked for a lower level room in advance and got the ground floor) - bathroom was a bit small
Had a lovely night stay in the quadruple family room here in the half term. Perfect for all ages took my mum, sister and son and we all were very comfortable. Ideal location close to tube stations, with a nice walk through Russell Park. Thought it was fantastic for the money and the breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day ahead. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we take another trip to London.
We just wanted a cheap hotel for a couple of nights in central London and selected the Staunton on the basis of the Trip Adviser reports. Its location was ideal, being within a short walk of Soho and Theatreland. We had room B1 in the basement and it was exceptionally clean and spacious although the en suite WC and shower room was a bit cramped. Sound proofing from the street above was very good and we were, literally, just across the corridor from the restaurant where an excellent breakfast was served. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. We will not hesitate to use it again next time we are in London.
My partner and I had the top floor room, number 302. The walls are thin as we could hear the people next door 'doing it' what felt like for hours in the night! It's not ideal either climbing up those stairs after a night out, but nothing major. The room was basic and had all that you would need. I paid £67 for a double room including breakfast via booking.com and was pleased with what I got for my money. Had it have cost more, I wouldn't have stayed here. The positives include the location, free wifi with good speed and I guess it was quite clean. I got what I paid for so I can't complain.
Stayed here for 1 night , the welcome was good and lots of information on offer . This is just my thoughts but it seems more of a B&B than a hotel . As mentioned the public areas do need updating , the room was very clean and the bathroom was big . the shower screen needed fixing as it kept moving. The Breakfast was very good and we were looked after very well. The hotel was in a excellent location we walked to the theatre in minutes and Oxford street was easy to walk as well. It was a good stay and if the hotel does get a refresh we would stay here again
Booked the hotel and then contracted them to arrange an early check-in (as it says to do on their website) to be told that I would need to check availability on the day. I arrived early to be told that an early check-in wouldn't be possible but I could leave my bag in reception. I noted that I was uncomfortable leaving my bag in reception but was told the area was staffed 24 hours. When I arrived later in the evening, I was given the key to my room and told how to find it. When I located it, it was tiny and uncomfortable (as was the bed itself). I left early the next morning feeling restless and disappointed.
