Had a lovely night stay in the quadruple family room here in the half term. Perfect for all ages took my mum, sister and son and we all were very comfortable. Ideal location close to tube stations, with a nice walk through Russell Park. Thought it was fantastic for the money and the breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day ahead. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we take another trip to London.
We just wanted a cheap hotel for a couple of nights in central London and selected the Staunton on the basis of the Trip Adviser reports. Its location was ideal, being within a short walk of Soho and Theatreland. We had room B1 in the basement and it was exceptionally clean and spacious although the en suite WC and shower room was a bit cramped. Sound proofing from the street above was very good and we were, literally, just across the corridor from the restaurant where an excellent breakfast was served. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. We will not hesitate to use it again next time we are in London.
My partner and I had the top floor room, number 302. The walls are thin as we could hear the people next door 'doing it' what felt like for hours in the night! It's not ideal either climbing up those stairs after a night out, but nothing major. The room was basic and had all that you would need. I paid £67 for a double room including breakfast via booking.com and was pleased with what I got for my money. Had it have cost more, I wouldn't have stayed here. The positives include the location, free wifi with good speed and I guess it was quite clean. I got what I paid for so I can't complain.
Stayed here for 1 night , the welcome was good and lots of information on offer . This is just my thoughts but it seems more of a B&B than a hotel . As mentioned the public areas do need updating , the room was very clean and the bathroom was big . the shower screen needed fixing as it kept moving. The Breakfast was very good and we were looked after very well. The hotel was in a excellent location we walked to the theatre in minutes and Oxford street was easy to walk as well. It was a good stay and if the hotel does get a refresh we would stay here again
Booked the hotel and then contracted them to arrange an early check-in (as it says to do on their website) to be told that I would need to check availability on the day. I arrived early to be told that an early check-in wouldn't be possible but I could leave my bag in reception. I noted that I was uncomfortable leaving my bag in reception but was told the area was staffed 24 hours. When I arrived later in the evening, I was given the key to my room and told how to find it. When I located it, it was tiny and uncomfortable (as was the bed itself). I left early the next morning feeling restless and disappointed.
The location was one of the reasons we selected this hotel, it was close by to our theatre show and the restaurant where we were eating. The hotel is a Grade II listed building and the interior decor matches the theme. The room was clean and fine for our overnight stay. The breakfast was very good, with a choice of continental or full english. The dining room was nice and the waitress was friendly and efficient. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was the halls are definitely in need of a lick of paint and new carpets. It is evident there is no lift as you can see where bags and suitcases have been hit against the walls.
Easy to find and easy to settle into - a charming helpful Reception had the paperwork ready and I was in my room in moments. Yes a coat of paint wouldn't hurt, but everywhere looked and smelt clean. My room was welcoming and attractive, everything worked and the shower had instant hotwater. A good breakfast with quality bacon and sausage for instance, and fast service too. All this a few minutes walk from a packed Oxford Street, amazing.
We had a strange shaped ground floor room with little room to walk about but a decent bathroom. Too warm on arrival and TV oddly placed. Good location for needs and helpful staff. Breakfast ok in a pleasant room.
Just returned from a stay at the Staunton hotel in London. Position is brilliant as your only a ten minute walk from the theatres in the west end and also a 10 minute walk to Oxford Street. Opposite is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Harrods in Knightsbridge( 25 minutes). We stayed in a triple room which was comfortable with free wi-fi and air conditioning. Breakfast was served downstairs in the dining room and was sufficient and extra toast or tea was provided free of charge. A full english and a continental is provided or both if you wish. All in all a good hotel where we wouldn't hesitate in going back.
Despite the tired looking décor, this hotel is very welcoming, clean and comfortable offering a very tasty breakfast and is ideal for a short stay. The location is perfect being just around the corner from a whole host of bars and restaurants and in easy access of Euston Sq station (literally a 5 - 8min walk). The rooms are a decent size with en suit, free tea, coffee and wifi available and with ironing board, iron and hair dryer should you need it. The only slight down side was that I could easily hear the people in the room above as they moved around but this was nothing for me personally to be concerned about as I was only there one night.
