Very central to most tourist attractions .Very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely use the hotel again and recommend to my friends and other family members. Very close to all the transportation.
My husband & I checked in to this hotel today & were extremely disappointed with the size of the "large" double room we had booked for 2 nights. There wasn't even enough room for our 2 bags for us to open them to access our clothes etc ! Also, even though there is a lift, we had to drag our bags up & down a flight of stairs, as they had squeezed in a mezzanine floor. You'll be ok if you only have overnight bags but, anything bigger & you nay struggle. So, we paid extra to have a family room, which is much larger. However, after going out for dinner, we came back to watch a bit of to & relax BUT, the TV keeps losing the signal - grrrr ! Not looking forward to tomorrow nights' stay as we have to move back to a regular double room. Will not be staying here adding.
Great location for Hyde Park festival but disappointing room. Double bed in a single room pushed into the corner so the person on the wall side has to climb over to get out. Stayed with my daughter luckily not my partner who would never had managed to get around the bed space. Tiny wardrobe couldn't open the door fully as it hit the bed and the chair at the desk could not be pulled out as no room so could not access the only drawer in the room. No where to put our suitcase, shoes or toiletries. The shower was good but the sink was very small and it was difficult to clean your teeth without bumping your head on the shelf. Sadly Breakfast was extremely poor and the breakfast room was inadequately sized for the amount of guests ... people had to queue for a seat. We won't be returning.
5 girls (older) in London for proms in the park, Hyde Park. Hotel was close to the park . The room we had had was the family room which was large enough for us all to be comfortable. The room was nicely decorated, clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was also of high standard. Continental breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausages and toast. Overall very happy with our stay, would recommend this hotel
Room was small but freshly decorated. No room for luggage. Location was fantastic. Lovely 20 minute walk to Hyde Park. Able to walk to Buckingham Palace (took an hour and all flat) and only 2 blocks from Paddington station.
A great little place to stay for an overnighter; the rooms are too small for any lengthy stay. Our room was street side and it was difficult to get to sleep due to traffic noise, however room was very clean and tidy with tea/coffee facility and small bar fridge. No lock safe though.
Great location near Paddington Station to access transportation to all parts of London. The rims are small but adequate. A hot breakfast was available. The front desk reception was very helpful, informing us of the types of transportation available and how to reach the popular tourist attractions. Thanks Raphael.
A return visit here (first visited in August 2016) The Royal Cambridge is a couple of minutes walk from Paddington station/ Bakerloo line and as such is perfectly placed for getting into central London. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are lovely, very clean and well maintained. I would advise upgrading to the premier rooms (especially if you have a lot of stuff like we always seem to!) A simple but adequate continental breakfast is included. I would have returned again this August but it was fully booked. Love this little place.
I stayed at The Royal Cambridge for 4 nights in December 2016 whilst having hospital treatment. The staff were lovely and the double room was small but very clean. The linen, towels pillows and mattress were good quality which made me feel I was staying in a much more expensive hotel. The shower was powerful, modern and didn't ran out of hot water like some places I've stayed. The breakfast buffet was good and we were never rushed to finish. I have never done a review before but thought they deserved one because of their friendliness to my family and I.
We booked a double beed room, but got a queen size bed with a single blanket and a worn out mattress. I don't need much in a hotel, because i only want to sleep there but this most basic need wasn't very satisfactory. Also the clear glass window to the all time lit corridor was a little bit strange. There was a curtain in front of it, but it was strange! The small room was clean, the bath was renovated lately, the breakfast was british so the rest went totaly OK, only the bed was cheeky.
