Dirty floor, no vacuum, fan in the bathroom didn’t work. I requested repair to three different staff members but nothing was done. People kept door open when they cleaned the room allowing mosquitoes to come to the room. It was cold in London. We couldn’t control heat in the room. Every night I had to come up to the front desk or call them to turn on the heat, The staff are careless about customers.

I stayed at the Queensway Hotel on a 4-day business trip, and it scores highly on what I call the four Cs: Cost, Cleanliness, Convenience and Courtesy. The staff couldn't be nicer. I checked in in a flash, and the staff greeted me with a smile every time I entered. The room, while neither large nor fancy, was very clean. The building itself is a bit worn around the edges (e.g., my windows wouldn't close properly, and the showers were more warm than hot), but I felt entirely safe and clean. The location is ideal - just minutes away from transportation (Paddington Station and multiple tube lines), a wide variety of restaurants, and Hyde Park, which is a great place to go running in the mornings. Overall, I felt it was a tremendous value, and I would definitely stay there again. One thing to be aware of is that the lift only reaches the 3rd floor, so if you don't like carrying bags up a set of narrow, winding steps, best to avoid any 4th floor rooms.

This hotel is very basic and a bit dated. I stayed in a quiet, reasonably clean, but *very* tiny single room with an ensuite. The room was so small that I couldn't open the wardrobe door the whole way, and couldn't get to said wardrobe while the bathroom door was open. It was also quite warm -- even with the window wide open the whole time I was there. Another major problem was the lack of wireless access while I was there. Free wireless access is supposed to be included, but I couldn't access it from my room on the third floor. My guess is that the router(s) aren't strong enough. Since I was traveling on business and had some work to do, it was frustrating to have to go to an internet cafe when I would much rather have worked in my room. Not to mention that my room rate wasn't discounted to reflect this problem. And when I asked about it at the front desk on my first night there, the clerk informed me that he would try to reset the router, but no one else had complained. Unresponsive, to say the least. But here's the good news: Continental breakfast is included, and it's a short walk to Paddington Station, Hyde and Kensington Parks, and the Marble Arch, where you can get on all manner of busses to get around the city. You can't beat the location. As I say, this hotel is perfectly fine for a short stay of 2-3 nights, but any longer than that, I'd recommend at least a bigger room if not a different hotel altogether.

Nice location, close to Paddington Station. Typical older London hotel with no AC. Window broke so couldn't open it making for a hot night. I would stay there again
