We had a large very comfortable room, a lovely old building, and very pleasant staff. We would not hesitate to stay again. The breakfast was good and quite a good range offered on the menu, Quorn lodge is open to non residents for the restaurant and even tho we didn't have an evening meal, the menu was plentiful. When we were given our keys to the room, was pleasantly surprised, as we had a four poster bed. So go for room no31. Melton Mowbray , home of the pork pies, and quite a pretty looking market town.
Stayed here for a couple of nights in May. Very friendly welcome, room lovely and big, bed very comfy. Breakfast was very nice, and staff very friendly. Very close to the town centre. The decor is a little tired and in need of modernising.
I found this hotel very clean, and the staff were excellent in all department, nothing was to much trouble. The food was very good, and for a property as old as 1840 it was very comfortable and quiet. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to anyone
I liked : Friendly staff. My room was massive. There was a proper bar, which wasn't over-priced (no ale on draught though!). The breakfast lady was very cheerful and welcoming (possibly incompatible with a hangover! But that's the drinker's problem!) The location - 500yds from Melton town centre. A good room-rate for a near town-centre hotel. I didn't eat here... but the Rotarians and the Lions eat here regularly, and they can be a fussy bunch when it comes to food! I didn't like : the room fixtures and fittings were a bit tired. Stained pink carpet (it was clean, just a bit old). A curling, trip-hazard, Woolworth standard rug in the middle of the room. Stained bathroom grout. A free-standing mini-bar fridge which had no top. Two bed-side lamps with four visible bulbs, all of them different, one was even a grotesque energy saver. Old fashioned bed-side tables with switches which hinted at air conditioning, but which appeared to do nothing. Haphazardly installed electric cable conduits, one of which contained no cables. "Happy Shopper" shower-gel and shampoo! A few other minor details suggesting maintenance is getting on top of them, and attention to detail is left wanting. Bizarre thing : My room was as big as a church hall. However, the wardrobe was in the very ample bathroom (in which the standard sized bath looked a bit lost)! Getting rid of two easy chairs, and moving the sofa would make space to accommodate the armoire in the bedroom. All of these things should not put you off though. The biggest thing I didn't like was that a receptionist refused to book me a cab, and handed me a list of taxi telephone numbers saying "we don't do that". I found out why they don't. The cabs in Melton on Monday night are rarer than chicken's teeth. Most of the numbers "rang out". Would I stay there again? Yes!
We stayed for one night after a local tough mudder. The staff were charming, the bar prices were good, the sitting room was very comfortable and we felt at home and welcome. Breakfast was good - plenty of toast and coffee, a full breakfast cooked to order and a selection of cereals and yoghurt. I would have preferred to have had the option of fresh fruit as well as prunes and grapefruit, but there was a good enough selection available to suit most tastes. The bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. Everything we needed, in fact! We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
I can't speak highly enough of this place. The staff were amazing. The function room, food, service were totally excellent. Thank you so much to all at The Quorn Lodge Hotel! My parents loved every minute and all guests spoke highly of everything. Car parking at the hotel is excellent also.

Booked last minute not to be disappointed . Close to town centre , good sized car park , very friendly welcome good sized bar, rooms spacious , bed extremely comfortable , all amenities toiletries , hairdryer , good breakfast , really helpful staff
Although somewhat dated it has all the facilities a traveller requires.. A good carpark, nice rooms but maybe in need of modernising, good food and an adequate bar.. however the staff were very helpful and friendly.. Not cheap but maybe value for money.
