Residence Inn Las Vegas Convention Center by Marriott3.0 out of 5.0

I am happy to read a recent response to another reviewer, from the GM, saying that this hotel is due for a renovation summer of 2018. It needs it. In fact, I would not stay here again until the renovation happens. The mattresses are very soft from age, so if you have back problems, this would not be the right place to stay. We were in the 2 bedroom loft and I would also not select this type of 2 bedroom set up again. There is no "noise or light" privacy. If the TV is on upstairs, it is difficult to hear the tv downstairs because it is a loft with no full wall to separate noise and light. If you are trying to sleep upstairs but there are lights on downstairs, you might want to wear an eye mask. The bathrooms are teeny tiny and the bathroom upstairs would not be suitable for anyone "big-boned". The bed downstairs is a murphy bed. There are plates and dishes and a small amount of cook ware, so you could cook a light meal. The wifi worked great. The breakfast is the typical breakfast.
We have stayed at many Residents Inns, including one just a couple of nights ago in Salt Lake City. This Las Vegas one is the worst Residence Inn we have stayed at. It's older, very no-frill, but the worst part is the sofa bed is so worn out that the kids complained that they could feel all the springs on their backs. The room rate was cheaper than the other Residents Inns, so I guess you get what you pay for.
This hotel is out of Strips, but it is in the quiet place, which is nicer than a lot of noisy. But, we stayed in this hotel for two nights, there is no house keeping during the day... which was very wired.
We stayed here during our entire Las Vegas visit last August. The location couldn't be better (away from the Strip traffic and noise but very close range to it at the same time). Although the building is 30 years old, it is clean and nicely maintained. When we told the oriental lady who was the shift manager that the sofabed is uncomfortable, she upgraded us. It was nice of her to do that. The breakfast is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pool. Book several weeks in advance to get a better rate.
This is now the only place I will stay in Las Vegas, if I have the choice. I've been coming to this city for a number of years and have stayed in several of the hotels, but this is the one I will stay at from now on. They are consistently excellent. The properties are clean, well-maintained and just plain nice. The staff is the best I've encountered. Everyone is truly interested in making the stay as wonderful as possible. The Front Desk staff is fantastic and I wish I could remember everyone's name, but I especially want to call out kudos to Susan, who has been uniformly wonderful over the past three years that I have stayed at the hotel. I just can't say enough good things about this place and the people who work here!
Room was nice, work area in kitchen, bed and pillows comfortable. Front door needed extra push to properly close. Cleaning staff sometimes later in the afternoon. WiFi is good and constant. Complimentary breakfast has ample selections and is well maintained. This site is within walking distance of the convention center and a Walgreens.
I like staying here because it’s like an apartment in Las Vegas. Monorail across the street gives access to The Strip and it’s easy to get in and out of the location to other areas of the city with your rental car. Breakfast is as good as complimentary ones get and staff are friendly. The only downside for me was the door to my unit was old and the latch did not work easily or reliably. Door needed to be slammed. Other than that - nice place.
This is a long stay hotel which did not apply to me, so my rating is related to my needs. Positives: large rooms with full kitchenette including regular size stove, fridge, microwave. TV has good selection of channels but no HBO. Amenities include shampoo and conditioner, surprised no lotion. Breakfast has complete set of options including make your own waffles. Negatives: stay downstairs to avoid shlepping luggage upstairs to 2nd floor at the expense os sense of security in being on ground floor. The hotel can stand for a restoration, new coat of paint, improvement of door locking mechanism. The pool was being refurbished when I was there and only fitness center is in adjacent Marriott. The center only has two treadmills and 1 elliptical with free weights. I was lucky in that I was able to get my preferred cardio equipment on both days that I went. Bedroom and LR could use more light. This hotel is not at a level I expect for Residence Inns.
It was wonderful to be able to cook in the suite and not eat out for the entire stay. The room was the perfect size for a couple. Very clean and the cottages gave a homey atmosphere. The grounds were well maintained. The hotel is minutes from the strip.
I stayed here a couple of times with some others in my company. It is located right across the street from a monorail station that takes you to the strip, and the Fremont experience is very close. The front desk staff was great, particularly Susan ,who always went out of her way to make sure our stays were exceptional.
