The bartender, Lachen, was a very nice person, just like all staffmembers. They did everything with a smile! Food was very good. The hotel was nice and cosy. We had a wonderful week. Highly Recommended!
Beautiful hotel service fantastic every member of staff make your holiday special outstanding sea views from every bungalow return many times a year as staff are so special like family to us 10 out of 10 every time we visit love from the family xx
This is a large complex of well maintained single story holiday accommodation. There is a good size lounge with kitchenette, two bedrooms and two bathrooms/shower rooms. There is also a good size outside area with patio and sitting, loungers etc. The rooms are cleaned daily and the kept clean and tidy. There are a number of sets of steps which have to be negotiated so disable people may have difficulty getting around but there area number of slopes as an alternative. There is a reasonable size pool with plenty of sunloungers. There is also a pool bar but the service there can be very slow at times. We stayed half board and generally there was a good choice of reasonable quality food. Certainly it would be difficult not to find something acceptable for the majority of people. The staff in the reception are very friendly and helpful as were the restaurant staff. We had a good stay and would certainly good back again. When you look at the total package for us I consider it good value for money.
We have just had a great week in lanzarote, staying at this hotel. We had bungalow 38 which was a bit of a trek to the top of the complex from reception. There were plenty of ramps for getting pushchairs and cases there though. The bungalow was spacious and clean with a small kitchenette in the corner of the open plan lounge /diner, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and balcony /garden which had 2 sun loungers and 2 chairs. There was also a moulded concrete bench and a table. Some of the fixtures were a bit dated and some in need of repair : - handle to the drying area was almost coming off - lava rock trim to the en suite bathroom was cracked and some missing - some of the filler around the bath and shower areas had chipped away Even so, these are really minor niggles! There was a TV in both the master bedroom and the lounge. The lounge also had a satellite box linked up on which many hours were spent trying to identify the English speaking stations! The TV in the bedroom only had 1 - BBC news! Also in the master bedroom was a wireless router, easily connected to and ensured minimal roaming data costs! The complex is built around the main reception restaurant and pool area. Restaurant : we only ever ate breakfasts here but it was comfortable with plenty of seating and a good number of child highchairs which were clean and functional. The breakfasts were amazing - hot and fresh mostly with a magics selection of choice, from eggs bacon sausage beans etc to cold meats and cheeses to Danish pastries, muffins and croissants. Plenty of yogurts for 2 young lads to consume and spread over their faces, clothes and anyone who got near them! The 2 coffee machines were brilliant. 1 a Nespresso together with a plentiful supply of about 6 different types of coffee, the other a more automated douwe Egberts machine. Both made good coffee. There were also metal teapots which were good for tea together with a very good selection of teas, both black herbal etc. Pool : a fairly large pool with lots of loungers and tables spread out from it. Sadly it was a bit windy this week so the times we used the pool we did just that - swim then dry off and go back to the room and sit on the balcony as it was more sheltered. Could really do with some wind breaks being installed as the pool is quite exposed. There was also a jacuzzi pool right by the bar but with it being a bit chilly we only tried that once. Also by the pool bar was a small children's play area - climbing frame, slide and swings. There's also a pool table which was €1 a go. Even though we were only messing about, the wind was strong enough to blow the balls around, and these are the big American style balls! Some kind of shelter system needs to be looked into! We had a lovely week here. It is a little way out of Playa Blanca but only a short walk (30mins) into the Marina Rubicon complex. There are shops and restaurants at Las Coloradas which is about a 5 min walk away. That said we had a 5 minute walk just to get to reception! (with a pushchair so using all the ramps).
We stayed here in the school Easter break, couple plus teenager. Pleasantly surprised with this place due to the mixed reviews. We arrived at 9.30pm, missed evening meal but to our amazement there was a feast of food, cakes, pastries left in the fridge for us with 2 bottles of wine, and a platter of fruit!! A great start to the holiday! one of the nicest welcomes we could ever have had! The reception, pool area, garden areas are well maintained, looks so lovely night and day around the whole area. I'am normally a bit fussy, liking places that are very clean ,well maintained rooms. . The main bathroom is a really good size but both bathrooms were very tired and could do with being replaced but if money is short they could simply just pay for someone to repair, regrout and replace toilets shower etc but cleaned everyday to a good standard and plenty fresh towels if you wished. The beds! WOW! very very hard, I kid you not!! and I like a firm bed but this was just like lying on the floor!! you could ask for a mattress topper but really the mattresses just need replaced with good quality ones.....on the plus side they turned down the sheets every evening and left a chocolate for each of us by the bedside, really nice touch. The maids were really lovely always said hello and very smiley. We stayed in a 'duluxe' above the dining room, no.3, absolutely beautiful panoramic views across rooftops down to the sea in the distance and the biggest terrace ever! no one overlooking your balcony at all, it was so so private, hot tub was good to use on a cloudy day. Food was good enough, breakfast: plenty fruit, fresh breads, nice coffee, hot food, eggs, all nice enough and same on evening meal, plenty choice for the size of the place. All of the staff are really really nice, so friendly and smiley and if you had any problems in your room they were straight there to fix things. The place is very quiet, no loud music, plenty space at the pool, no need to put towels down to reserve!! i think because all apartments have lovely large balconies with sunbeds that you don't need to rush down to the pool. We were quite happy relaxing everyday on our balcony with full kitchen facilities to make tea coffee have cold drinks whenever, wine if you fancy and so so quiet all day on the balcony was just pure peace....Was quite a good 25 min walk to marina or taxi under 5 euros if you couldn't be bothered and probs 45 min walk to get right into playa blanca. Marina is beautiful and not overpriced at all, we had a couple of meals in marina restaurants, really great quality and lovely prominade all along from marina into playa blanca centre. We are planning to go back later on in the year for a 2nd visit as we thought playa blanca such a nice place. Marina market on weds & Sat, def worth a visit! Next time we are going to try a hotel nearer the marina. We could easily return to the Bocayna village and would definitely recommend this hotel for the beautiful large private balconies, the peaceful setting and the really lovely, friendly, helpful staff but please, Bocayna manager, please please invest in new mattresses!! but still a big thank you for we all had a lovely peaceful holiday..
First time in Lanzarote and made the perfect choice of accommodation. After finding our way around realised we were at the quiet area of the resport (well in April it was) but no problem for us, as we like it. Sat on balcony at night and there was not a sound (total quiet amazingly). We stayed B&B and food we found to be very good. Plenty of choice for everyone. All the staff we found to be pleasant and polite. Bungalows also very good and private. A wooden gate to enter before your own front door. All accommodation is set out so all have the same lovely views. All areas are clean and tidy. Close to a few small bars and shops. Great walk on the coastal 'promenade' to Marina approx 20-25 mins away where there is plenty of atmosphere, shops, bars and restaurants. Then approx another 10 mins walk after that to Harbour/Yaiza area. More touristy with many more shops and British bars etc. Would definitely return.
First time in Lanzarote. We made the perfect choice of accommodation. After finding our way around realised we were at the quiet end of the resort (well it was in April) but that wasn't a problem . An amazing holiday made perfect by the staff. Very friendly and accommodating to our needs with intolerances and allergies. Lachen and his colleague Ivan, bar tender was amazing and friendly. They made us feel at home and helped us make the most of this beautiful island.
We absolutely loved our stay here and is probably the best complex we have stayed in for the price. We stayed in the deluxe superior bungalow which had superb views of both mountains and the sea. The area is quiet and peaceful but with enough to do in the local area that the kids were happy. We have children aged 5 and 8 years, there is a park onsite by the bar which they loved and entertained them for hours! The staff and the service are outstanding for a 4 star hotel. They cannot be faulted and are a credit to the hotel. Lahcen the bar tender in particular is full of life and enthusiasm, was great with the children and makes the most amazing cocktails! Other staff were outstanding too but too many to mention. Upon our arrival we had a guy deliver fresh fruit and some wine to the room. 3/4 bottles in total we were provided with. The all inclusive is generous and we had all sorts from beer, wine to cocktails. Had read some reviews saying they were a bit reluctant to give more than one drink at meal times and bar wasn't open but we experienced the exact opposite. We were given a whole bottle of rosé at our first lunch sitting upon arrival when asking for only a glass! Downsides, the food is ok but not great. Breakfast is very good but lunch and dinner could be improved. The jacuzzi is a cold jacuzzi both in the bungalow and by the pool, the pool is very cold too so requires some deep breaths before going in. The bungalows do need updating, the curtains don't fit the patio doors - this wasn't an awful problem for us as sunrise isn't until 745am and our children are awake by this time anyway. Overall extremely positive however and we would highly recommend!
In our opinion, this hotel offers just what it promised; it was very quiet, superb meals and highly personable service. This was just what we were looking for and received it in spade loads. The location is away from the main town but is very close to the small commercial centre of Papagayo where there a few bars, shops and a good supermarket. The beaches of Papagayo are a relatively easy 10-15 walk across the cliff tops. The marina is 25 mins walk away on the gorgeous promenade and the town a further 10 mins. In other words, this hotel is ideally located if you want quiet but don't mind and are capable of a bit of daily exercise. Taxi to town approx 5 euros. Bus stop right outside the hotel. The food is superb; only once a meal was cold but this was resolved instantly by the very helpful and friendly staff. The evening meal was a large buffet style starter and dessert but the main course was, if you wished, ordered from a daily changing choice of 5 choices, which was brought to your table under a cloche - nice touch! You had the opportunity to view the main meals when you entered the restaurant, again very useful esp with our children who always had something to eat that they liked. The accommodation is in bungalows. These were clean and had good self-catering facilities. Some of the previous reviews re poorly fitting curtains were true but not important to us. Our main issue was the beds which we found very hard. We had a superior bungalow with a larger patio a hot tub which was very warm! The pool area is lovely and again, very quiet. Technically, it was heated but at this time of year much heat is lost at night so practically it was cold. It was however usable, not just by us but by others too. It just required a quick entry and a big breath. As a famous comedian recently quoted in a sketch, it was "alright when you're in!". Gymnasium was small but always empty, so therefore was excellent. Overall, a very good hotel, with superb staff, which delivered on almost all points. We would come back.
