We booked a getaway after Thanksgiving and left our grown kids at home never expecting the entire resort to be overrun with hockey families attending a jamboree. We tried for an early check in at 2:30pm but unfortunately could not get our room until after 5:00pm. We were told to go enjoy a drink and food at the Lantern. We tried but there was no one to wait on us. The bartender and one waiter were so overwhelmed with the hockey families. My husband finally went to the kitchen and asked for an app and drinks. We were served 45 minutes later. Kids were laying all over the furniture, running around everyone's table and ran in and out to the pool area, the halls, the lobby, the firepit. The resort finally sent out a text saying this would not be tolerated. It only made it worst. We tried to have dinner at the Lantern again but ended up leaving. Parking, none for us at our building because yes, the hockey families took those. Then the cars had to leave for the hockey jamboree at 5:30am so no sleeping in. Beep, beep! I sent in my first complaint to a hotel and I've yet to hear back. We've been here many time and know it is a family resort and we expect some loudness. We enjoy that! Sea Crest is tired and extremely understaffed. I do want to point out that every employee, even though they were so overwhelmed, tried so hard to be patient. The rooms were very clean and tidy and beds were comfortable and our room was cleaned daily which was appreciated!

The room was large and clean, which was a plus and the bed was comfortable. But...the room was dated and a bit shabby. Peeling paint on the ceiling in the bathroom; shower control was warped and wobbly; the toilet roll was placed in an inaccessible location; one of the white sheer curtains for the outside window was ripped/torn; and we had awful view out the window of the roof and venting system. Also there was an elevator to our floor, but to access our wing, you had to walk up a handful of stairs (perhaps a problem for others; we were not told about that in advance); doors slammed upon closing...very loud! Not in a hurry to go back!

We love the location and beach access but the hotel needs a serious make over. Every year, the fees go up and the condition of the property goes down. This year, they ran out of beach towels before noon. Staff is super nice, however.

You’re paying for the view

Sea Crest is expensive. $50/day resort fee that includes nothing except I guess parking and internet, two items today that should be included. The rooms are clean but cozy not spacious. You are paying for the view. Great view but $500 per day view (with taxes and fees), not so sure. This place can be crowded, weddings, conferences, making relaxation at the pool/beach less relaxing. Sometimes the other food venues are closed or have irregular openings. It is apparent they want you to purchase and consume all food at their restaurant ( no microwave in rooms) and other dining options are at least 2 miles away. Privacy between balconies is minimal or nonexistent. You could stay at other places with more nearby conveniences and go to Old Silver Beach, adjacent to the resort for a parking fee far less than the daily resort fee. In February I went with my wife to a Riu all inclusive ocean front resort for a week in Cabo. We paid less in Cabo than a week at Sea Crest. No comparison in service or amenities. Needless to say we will not return to SeaCrest which is a shame as we vacation in Cape Cod annually for a week or up to a month. We will return to one of the wonderful options we have previously enjoyed.
