Back from a great family holiday to Bluebay. Great choice at buffet, friendly staff, spacious clean rooms, good selection of drinks inc cocktails. Entertainment wasn't the best but was ok, would have been better if the air con had been working properly. For a weeks break with the family I would definitely recommend Bluebay to others and would be happy to return to the area and hotel.

Went to the Bluebay with family. We were surprised by the number of children outside of school holidays. This didn't spoil it, sunbeds are a problem even in June and people were sitting on beds from very early in the morning, even had blankets on to keep warm!, The food was excellent although repetative but there was a choice each night. The rooms were good but we had to move from AB309 as the generator noise was too much. We moved to C block which was excellent. All of the staff are brilliant, shout out to Yassin, bar manager, Muhammad, bar man and Alexandria on reception. We are looking forward to returning in December.

Just returned from my 3rd family visit to the bluebay costa teguise. Previous trips were great. On arrival towels in bathroom were badly stained. On 3 nights no hot water between 18.00 &19.00. food not up to standard of previous years. Annimation team and entertaiment did not live up to previous years. One plus point all staff still friendly and helpful. I dont understand why the standards have slipped so much in the space of a year.

Blue Bay Lanzarote Stayed 11 nights from April 21st 2017. All inclusive review. Positives: Hotel lovely, clean and rooms have kitchens with fridges and air con. Food varied and plentiful with no queues. Majority of staff are lovely but watch out for Isabelle as she can be quite rude to both staff and visitors. Pool is cold but once you're in it's quite refreshing. Plenty of sun beds. Decent choice of snacks at pool bar. Night Entertainment varied with list by restaurant and pool bar. Day activities ok with list on wall by pool bar. Negatives: No lifts and lots of stairs. No 'Do not disturb' signs; maids knock then walk in if you don't get to door quickly. Shower floods floor. Air con a bit smelly. WiFi very poor and you need to pay. Night entertainment room really HOT and uncomfortable so not many people stayed. Day activities; can't hear or understand microphone especially to the right of pool. Rarely do they come around and tell you what's on. No room or hotel information in room. Could do with leaflets for all.

On reading the reviews and looking at the photos we thought this looks nice for a relaxing time out, on arrival first impressions where good. Reception staff polite explained about the hotel times meals ect then pointed to the direction of our room. This was easy to get to as the stairway was just off reception area, the downside being no lifts and having to carry the suitcases up two flights of stairs. Not good if you have back problems. The food was ok but very repetitive, after about four days we decided to go out we could not face another evening meal very little change in the menu. The noise in the restaurant from the very heavy wooden chairs scraping on the floor as people got up was so loud at times we could not hear each other speaking. Don't be fooled by the photos like we where showing semi comfortable sun loungers (blue ones) and umbrellas because there are not enough umbrellas, and not many blue sun beds the majority of the beds are white ones with solid plastic slates, most uncomfortable, a couple of days we where not able to have the protection of an umbrella so spent some of that day inside instead of enjoying the sun and fresh air, I did go and mention this to reception but the man on duty at the time was really not interested. Four of the nights out of eleven we where there for we had no hot water to shower with, we had to boil the Kettle to get hot water, again reception was not really interested in. I went to enquire about the free internet that was available according to the hotels description again reception said no free internet over there on the table it the rates they charge, and no we did not go for the Internet. The entertainment in the evening was very hit and miss, the room that the entertainment was is was so very hot the A/C was non effective. Our room was ok the room maid did a good job, all in all the staff where nice but we will not be returning to this hotel in the future. (We booked this hotel out of school holidays to have some peace without lots of children I do understand there being pre-school children there but this was like being away in the middle of the August holiday season, a few people we spoke to said they could not believe how many parents had taken there children out of school) this last bit was just an observation. I would throughly recommend the trip on the Catlanza we did the adults only trip it was a great afternoon the staff where great, food and drink and a jet ski ride included in the price, snorkelling and swimming also should you wish to, a great deal of fun.

This is a really friendly hotel. Almost every member of staff was cheery and they were all extremely helpful. We checked in at about 2130, and were met with extremely cheerful receptionist who couldn't have done any more for us. This includes printing out our hotel voucher for us. We had missed dinner, but the restaurant reopens between 2230 and 2330 for toasties, which was great. You pay for safe hire, but it's on a par with other hotels. We were allocated room A307 which is really well placed handy for reception with a lovely view over the pool. The room is fairly basic, but just what you expect for the price. It was clean and spacious, if lacking a bit of storage. The shower did leak a bit which we plugged with towels. Didn't have any problems with insects in the room at all. The pool area is lovely. Plenty of space and very clean. As with every hotel, there aren't enough shades, though plenty of beds. The fact that people were sitting on sunbeds from 7am I think says more about them than it does the hotel. The staff sporadically remove towels from unattended beds to try and stop people blocking them. I nearly lost mine when I went to get a coffee. I fully back the hotel doing this. The pool was very cold but I think we were a bit unlucky with the weather so the pool was colder than normal. Pool bar is self service, which is great. More than happy getting small cups during the day. Snacks and lunch at the pool are what you expect. Burgers hot dogs, pastas, pancakes. Sometimes not as hot as you would like but freshened regularly. The meals in the restaurants were generally very good. Being allocated a seat each night is nice and we were always met with a smile. Breakfast has everything you would expect and the fresh pancakes went down very well. Only had lunch once in the restaurant but the choice was great. Dinner had a great salad bar, and soup available. Main courses were varied and there was always freshly grilled meats and fish being made in front of you. There were Canarian, Mexican and Chinese theme nights in the 10 days we were there. Comments suggesting the only meat available being veal are way off the mark. The meats ranged from veal, pork and chicken. The restaurant staff are very efficient at clearing empty plates, but at some points they do back up a bit. Self service drinks in are great. The animations team were busy during the day, with a full programme listed at the pool. They aren't in your face, so I think some people don't realise some activities are happening. I thought they did very well. The evening entertainment is decent enough. A few different acts and usual kids disco. The air con in the entertainment room was fixed while we were there, so it's a much more pleasant experience. There is a small beach really close by, and two others within 15 minute walk. There is a courtesy bus to take you to the main beach. Great service There are a few bars and restaurants in the immediate area, with more close to the bigger beach. My only real criticism is the lack of fresh bedding and towels. The towels weren't changed very often and the bedding even less. When we asked for fresh bedding, it was provided quickly by reception. It would be good if these were changed more often. Overall, a great time was had by all.

We stayed at the blue bay for 2wks in June a party of 4 adults. The resort met all our needs and our room ab304 was in a prime spot overlooking the pool and with a slight sea view The food was repetitive yes ,but was hot, bread was always fresh there was a carvery meat every day and the snacks were good from the pool bar. The rooms were cleaned every day (excp Wednesday) and if you wanted anything towels .pillows it was not a problem for the staff. ALL the staff were very hospitably and very helpful. The reception staff were the best we have ever met and we have travelled a fair bit drinks were good and plenty to choose from. The hotel was very clean and the pools were too. The only negative I would give was the evening entertainment for adults was very week there is a lovely bar near reception but some nights were spoilt by children running around whilst waiting for the main room to open (no adults area). we would return !!!!

Positives: Pool area, staff, rooms large spacious well appointed and like pool area kept spotless, animation team. Negatives: Food... yes theres always something edible but its always the same something...veal veal veal. Menu doesnt changes like other venues e.g mexican one night, italian next, indian, grill night etc etc then after a week back to the start again. With it being listed outside hall advising guests. Evening entertainment...brutal. After kids disco the entertainers literally empty the place dated and needs looked at. Then sun bed wars... arrived late in june at 8am you were guaranteed a bed anywhere even one of the coveted comfy blue ones but as we approach 2nd week in july anything later than 7am and you struggle for a bed anywhere. The only bonus is those who reserve beds and disappear before 9am have their towels removed by pool attendant and rightly so. So what you are faced with is people sitting on sunbeds from 645am until 9am before going for breakfast. Thankfully only 2 days left. In summary pool people and room thumbs up. But boring food poor entertainment and MENTAL sun bed scenario means no thanks and thumbs down from me.

We have just returned from Lanzarote and had a brilliant time at the resort. The selection of food and drinks was great. The pool area is clean and well equipped, apartment was a generous size with a small kitchenette. The pool bar allows you to help yourself to drinks and food throughout the day and great for kids to have some independence. All staff were helpful and friendly from check in to check out. I would like to especially mention Pasqual on reception who was absolute brilliant in assisting with a medical emergency. His polite and helpful nature really assisted us in our hour of need. Thanks again!

My wife and I visited this hotel in March and were impressed from the outset. The reception area is bright and modern and the staff very friendly. The restaurant and bar areas are just off the reception area and are very clean and bright. We really liked the way you had to wait to be seated at the door of the restaurant as with most AI holidays we have been on, it has just been a 'free-for-all'. The pool area is large and clean, but the pool is the coldest I have ever encountered and not many people swam - I tried it once and was out within seconds! Our room was clean but basic and had everything you could need whilst on holiday. We did, however, have to buy plastic cups as the ones in the room were tiny so as we could have a drink whilst getting ready on an evening. There is a supermarket just at the rear of the hotel (go out of the front doors and turn left, then left again and it's just at the bottom of the road) and the beaches are approximately 10-15 mins walk away. The resort centre is slightly further but well within walking distance. The only thing which might be a problem here, was the fact you had to pay for wifi and tv etc., but we don't go on holiday to watch to. All in all, not a bad week away but the weather really let us down this time.
