After staying at this hotel many years ago and having great holidays I was very disappointed this time and won't be returning. Entertainment in evenings is dire. The hall where this us held is dark, depressing and in desperate need of revamp. The bar area near reception was once pleasant with a pianist. Now not the case, no atmosphere, no music - boring! The pool bar is scruffy and the pool areas have paint peeling off the walls. The food I found dreadful. Some evenings there was nothing appetising. 2 evenings the chicken was raw. We ate out 3 evenings out of desperation. The Indian around the corner was very nice and so was The Welcome restaurant. On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff at hotel very nice and polite. The hotel needs a revamp, improve entertainment and sort out the food/menu etc. It could be lovely again.
Just returned from our 4th year at bluebay! What can I say! I’ve always loved bluebay, never really found anything wrong apart from the hot entertainment room and lack of sunbeds! I’m pleased to say this year both problems have been sorted! The air con is fixed in the entertainment room and they have a whole new load of sunbeds- which now are chained up until 10- so people can’t put their towels out until 10am! ( saves so much hassle) so nice to return and see most of the same staff- always so happy, helpful, and kind. They work mega long hours but still always are polite. The entertainment crew were brilliant this year- better than previous. Always something going on, always keen to get people to do things! My 7 year loved it! Espicaly the big inflatable slide in the pool on Sunday😊. We requested the room we wanted and we got it. Which made it even better! There was no hassle with that and they couldn’t do enough to welcome us back! Bluebay is always clean and tidy- I see a few negative reviews about the food!? I can’t say there is anything wrong with it. There is something different everyday- but if you’re fussy then yes it’s repetitive. But that’s not their fault? Least they have other options! Was sad to come home, but looking forward to booking again for next year ! See you then guys ! Thanks for another lovely stay ! 😃😃😃😃😃
We stayed here for a week 14/06/2018, hotel was lovely and clean and very friendly staff.Great choice of drinks and cocktails in the AI. Food was always lovely and a great variety even for the fussiest of eaters (like me).There is so much food offerings that you can literally eat almost all day if you wanted to. Rooms were big and spacious and cleaned everyday except for Wedensdays. Pool was lovely although a little chilly when u first get in but ok after that and when its hot you don't really mind anyway. Overall this hotel out did my expectations I would definetely recommend this hotel and definitely return in future.
Stayed here in may for 10 nights and was overall impressed. Hotel was clean and was well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were self serve beer and wine with other drinks on request and food was plentiful but sometimes lacking in variety, I would have liked more continental selection for breakfast but theme nights were excellent and there was only 1 night where the whole family couldn’t really find anything they liked. Plenty to do with the kids with children’s discos most nights however wit these starting sometimes at 9pm we found it was a little late for our 4 year old. Entertainers were constantly round trying to get people to participate in various activities which was good to see. My biggest critic or suggestion was the lack of an entry gate at the back or side of the hotel, so it was a bit of a walk to get to anywhere as you had to walk the boundary of the hotel complex. A simple card access gate near the children’s play area would provide quicker access to the shops and restaurants. All in all this is our 6th time to Costa Teguise in the Playa Bastian area and our first time all inclusive, I would go back and stay at the hotel however I wouldn’t stay all inclusive as I much prefer sampling the local delights.
First of all let me get weather situation out of the way. Yes is was dull in the mornings but seems that the Canaries have had unusually bad weather this year and the hotels can't control that. All the staff are friendly and welcoming especially Nina and the bar staff. Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily with towels and bedding replaced. There was occasionally a smell of sewage however again this seems to be a problem all over the island and didn't really affect our stay. Foodwise evening meals were varied and had lots of cold, hot and desserts to choose from. The implements and cutlery provided to retrieve the food items were not practical at all. Tongs for jelly and a butter knife to cut and pick up a piece of cake are just two examples. Breakfast is ok but Spanish bacon is not nice, reminiscent of a piece of old leather. There are several nearby cafes that can do a good fry up for around €3.50 if you want. There is a basic gym that is not advertised of even sign posted anywhere within the hotel. The equipment is poorly maintained and/or broken which could potentially be dangerous. Wi-Fi and TV is additional cost which seems bizarre in this day and age. Its also expensive if you do purchase €6 per day up to €30 for seven days. I would return to Blue Bay and would probably give it 5 stars if the Wi-Fi was free or even a bit cheaper.
Just returned from a 10 day all inclusive holiday to the Bluebay Lanzarote. We found all the staff to be friendly and efficient and the apartments were spacious, kept clean and tidy and had a lovely pool and see view. The food was lovely and had a good choice most nights. Always founds something tasty and of good quality. The drinks in the restaurant were also good quality. The wine was surprisingly good and very drinkable compared to some all inclusive a I’ve tried. Only downside in the restaurant was the noise of the chairs as they scraped along the floor. Was quite annoying during busy times but a minor complaint. Definitely and good quality hotel and excellent value for money.
Bad points The hotel is a little dated there are visible cracks and paint peeling outside. The pool isn't heated and stays pretty cold all day. The food can get so repetitive. Evening kids entertainment disco time is so annoying, same songs every night so frustrating. Towels changed regular and beds made daily but only changed them when we stripped them ourselves. Good points The staff are amazing. They seriously are the hardest working staff I have ever seen. They are in and out of jobs all day always smiling always happy and they are amazing with the kids. If the staff weren't 100% I think we would have liked the holiday but would have only been a 3*. Sun beds easy to get at 10am cheaper plastic ones never locked up. Gardeners and litter picking some daily always clean and tidy. I will return one day I did genuinely love the holiday and the island is stunning. Thanks bluebay.
We visited Blue Bay for ten days in May 2018 (17th- 27th) - unfortunately we lucked out on the weather (as did most of Southern Europe) but we lucked in with Blue bay. A friendly, small hotel, nice rooms, great staff who were ALL kind and helpful and good quality food. Much nearer a 4 star rating than a 3 star. EXCELLENT value for money
After staying at the bluebay hotel costa teguise over the years, I always had a sense of home. Until yesterday when I arrived at the hotel to be told, sorry we don't have a a room for you. You need to go to another hotel till for 4 days. We asked why? We didn't have a room, to be told, there is no why? So no explanation of why i am being shipped to another hotel. The way myself and my partner have been treated is disgusting. I couldn't believe when other guest that arrived had got checked in into their rooms. To say that I was disappointed is a understatement. When you pay good money for a hotel that you've chosen to stay at, you expect the hotel to honour the agreement and not send you somewhere else. I've spoke to the company I booked with, I told them what had happened,I was advised to ring bluebay back to be told the same crap that I was told earlier, but then the hotel receptionist says, the company I booked with was told there was no room for me the day before we flew, so obviously I rang the company I booked with back, they said that nothing had been said to them about that. So yesterday was wasted. We move back to the bluebay on Friday lunch time, hopefully. So there's another day wasted. But I will say this. I will never be returning to the bluebay hotel costa teguise ever again. One big let down
Like it here the rooms were clean and spacious nice big verandas. Lots of choice for the meals and drinks and staff were very very accommodating and friendly. It was a trip for my birthday and the staff helped make it special so Thanks we enjoyed our stay
