still the best location and hotel in Lucerne for me! Quality and ambiance, rooms modern, but very small. marriott franchise - can't be wrong. I like the staff and the Manager - always trying very hard to please! Excellent breakfast service - the girls are making you feel at home - and they recognize your face when you'll come back!
Hello! This hotel is indeed a solid product of the Marriott company. This was my second time staying here. I loved it even more! My husband Joseph and I ewww especially enjoyed the staff. Special thanks to Luca, Ana, and Brian. All were so helpful and very personable. Thank you Ana for the wonderful restaurant recommend for dinner. The room was also unique and very comfortable. The hotel had the best foam pillows I had slept on the entire trip!! Plus the hotel is with in walking distance to everything Lucerne has to offer as well as the train station.
From the time we arrived we could not have been happier from the staff(Ana) to the location. The only strange thing was the hotel did not own the restaurant and it was Mexican food. I did not come to Switzerland to have Mexican food. I guess they are catering to the locals certainly not the hotel guests. The room was nice and and we had a great time in a great city! Three blocks from the train station and a very quite area! A great place stay!
Nice old hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. However, room was warm and needed window open and just above the street. Room was very, very noisy until near morning. Also coming from Canada we are accustom to no smoking in public places and room was above a smoking bar so were recipients of noise and smoke.
i sated at this hotel for 3 nights in a city view room with my family, this is my 2nd tiome at this hotel, and glady its as magnificent as the 1st one, the rooms are gr8 and wide, the food is delicious with varaieties, the hotel location is gr8 as its beside the main lake , the staff is friendly, i was happy to come again.
I stayed on night. Room was quite small, but comfortable. Breakfast was not included in my rate, but was available. Room was set up well for business with a desk, etc. WiFi was good. Convenient to train and old town. I would stay here. again when in town on business.
This is the first hotel we stayed during our trip to Swiss. Once we arrived Zurich airport at 6am, we took tram to Lucern. The hotel is close to the train station of Lucern. We were very happy that the hotel allowed to check at around 9am in the morning. The room is very nice and clean. We had a very good sleep. In addition, the breakfasts offered to customers are good in quality with sufficient variety of food. During our stay in the hotel, I needed to attend a conference call. I was given a Swiss toll free number by my colleague for dial in to the conference and the hotel didn't charge me for any use of the phone in the room. In short, the quality of the room and the services of the hotel are both good. We were happy with our stay.
This Hotel is very close to the city center, and it offers this renaissance feeling. The rooms are lovely, the staff is soooo nice, polite and interested, and the breakfast was very good. I would love to come back!
I’m writing this while in the hotel bed at 10:30 pm trying to go to sleep before an early flight back to the USA in the morning. Our room, though decent sized and clean, apparently shares a wall with the club next door, so we can clearly hear every song that is being played. I’ve tried calling the front desk, but after 10 minutes on hold being told to “please hold the line” by the bilingual recorded lady, I’ve given up. It’s unfortunate, as the hotel is in a good location and the room itself is fine. If it weren’t for the dance party in our room and the currently nonexistent front desk staff it’d be a 5/5 rating. As it is I’ll have to hope for a few hours of sleep tonight at some point. Don’t risk it and book another hotel. Stay away.
I highly anticipated staying at this hotel, as I love Switzerland and am loyal to Marriott properties. However, I was disappointed. It started with the check in, I wasn't recognized as a Platinum Elite member. The room was ok, but there was no amenities beyond cheap shampoo. No bottled water, nothing. Breakfast was nice and the service staff was very friendly. That changed at night, when having dinner in the same restaurant. The wait staff was overworked and stoic. Also, even though the restaurant is listed as part of the hotel, you are not allowed to charge your meals to your hotel room. I was rudely told this by the waiter when I tried to pay for my meal. Fortunately I brought another form of payment to dinner with me. Parking is also horrible - I was informed there was no hotel parking available, that it was all reserved. I was left to park on the street, or find a parking garage. The streets are crowded at night, and somehow I ended up with a dent in my rental car after parking along the street one night. The location of this hotel is good, and they have some nice small chocolates available at the front desk. But it felt like I was staying at a no-name hotel.
