I stayed here for one night on my visit to Lucerne and enjoyed it so much. The hotel is in a great location within a few minute walk of the train station. It is on the quieter side of town as well. I checked in on the app before arriving, so my room was ready at 9am! When I arrived in person, the staff were very helpful in giving me directions on how to get to the base of Mt Pilatus. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again.
Really good hotel in city centre location, about 4 mins walk to main station. Nice restaurant Pacifico with Mexican theme, very good buffet breakfast served here too. I thought room was slightly on the small side, but nevertheless very warm and comfortable, as was the bed. Very good bathroom, with good shower. No plug in basin, design of basin is such that you can only run water, good job no water shortage in Switzerland .
Centrally located (although not directly in the old town). Less than 10 minutes to walk to the older part of the city. Very, very helpful front desk staff. Also happy to receive a suite upgrade as a Marriott Platinum traveller.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of our tour of Switzerland. Very good room and huge toilet. Very clean and comfortable. Location was great, walking distance to the train station and the main shopping belt. Breakfast was included and the spread and quality was good. Happy stay.
We received a truly genuine welcome at check-in, and although our room wasn't ready yet, we were directed to a relaxation room where we could freshen up (full-size bathroom available!), grab a hot or cold drink & snack, and wait in comfortable surroundings if we wanted. When we returned later, our bags were in our room, a nice size comfortable suite with all the amenities. We were given a free bus pass to use during our stay (nice, but we chose to walk because the weather was incredibly warm!) Breakfast was a full buffet (and very good I'm told...I didn't partake). From check-in to check-out the staff was attentive, courteous and helpful. Highly recommend!
We stayed here recently for one night and it was superb from start to finish. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and informed that our room was ready for us. After an easy check-in, we went to our room and it was great. Huge double bed and large bathroom. All was spotlessly clean. There was also a free coffee machine to use and the safe was also free which was a bonus. The location of the hotel is also great. It's about a five minute walk from the train station and local attractions like the Chapel Bridge are a similar distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we visited Lucerne in the future. Thanks again to all the helpful staff.
This is a great choice if your looking for a bit of luxury in the centre of the city. By Swiss standards it was average priced. There is street parking available in the streets nearby or a parking garage across the street. The receptionists are very helpful in ever aspect including explaining the parking options, which can be added to your bill. The room was very comfortable with a window looking into the internal courtyard, something I'd requested to avoid street noise. The buffet breakfast was included & to a very high standard.
We recently stayed in Renaissance Lucerne Hotel for 8 nights for our Switzerland trip. The reason why we chose Lucerne was because it served as an ideal base for us to do day trips to different cities. Lucerne is 50mins by train to Zurich, 2 hours to St. Gallen, 2 hours to Interlaken, 1 hour to Bern as well as Basel. We booked a one-bedroom suite (courtyard view) which came with a separate living/ writing area, a small coffee-making space, the bedroom (with a tiny wardrobe) and bathroom. Considering that this is a one-bedroom suite, I feel that the room size is actually rather small, especially the bathroom. I could not imagine how small the standard room is. Nonetheless, our room was clean and comfortable. There was a Nespresso machine in our suite, which came in really handy. Four capsules were provided and replenished daily. The only minor issue was that toothpaste and toothbrush were missing from the list of bathroom amenity. I had to call to get them. The house keeping team had done a good job by cleaning our room on time every day. By the time we returned in the afternoon, our room had already been tidied up. The location of this hotel is excellent. It is a short walk away to the train station (5 mins), the chapel bridge (5 mins), old town (10-15mins) and various museums (15mins to Bourbaki Panorama, Glacier Museum, Alpineum museum and Lion Monument). There are plenty of food options around. The hotel provided us with a complementary bus pass but I found that we can basically walk to everywhere. We had breakfast in the Pacifico restaurant in the hotel. The food was plentiful but repetitive, however the food quality was good. There was an option for a cook-to-order egg dish (we love the omelette)! The breakfast staffs were warm and courteous, they even remember what kind of beverage and egg we like. The Pacifico also serve very delicious spare ribs (we still miss it til now) for lunch/dinner. The gym at level 2 was quite good (I’d like to point out that not many hotels in Lucerne has a gym), and there was a lounge next to it, which provide free self-service coffee all day. There was no laundry room in the hotel, but there were many laundry shops outside (within walking distance. Just google it.) We sent our laundry to Jet Wasch (along Bruchstrasse), which is about 15-mins walk away. On our last day, the front desk staff was helpful enough to allow us to check out at 1pm. I will stay in this hotel again for my next trip.
First time stayed here and loved it. The staff is super helpful as one finds in family owned hotels in Switzerland. Rooms were decent sized and very comfortable. The lounge is a nice place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Breakfast was amazing. There was a large variety on offer including option of having eggs cooked to order. Would stay here again without hesitation.
The hotel is a very short walk from the train station, maybe 3 minutes, and from the moment I stepped in the door I could feel the welcoming warmth of this place. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel's location puts it in easy walking distance to all the great views Lucerne has to offer. I would love to call this place home and can't wait to go back.
