I' ve been at the Hotel Falken just for one night and we choose it because is a dog friendly hotel. We arrived in the early afternoon by car and after a quick search of a parking we asked to the lady at the reception if was possible to book one trough them. She find us a car space for 29 CHF a day. This was perfect. We booked a room "pet friendly" for a plus of 25 CHF and i was expecting to find bowl for the dog but it wasn't there. The room was clean but small and with a air condition machine that was taking half of it. The room is on a medium range price for a hotel in Luzerne but the customer care is excellent. Hotel suggested if you are not looking for something special!
We stayed here as a family of 3. The property is brilliantly located right in the heart of Luzern & easy walking distance from rail station (even with luggage) & most attractions, such as the Chapel Bridge. The rooms are basic. That suited us fine as we have modest requirements & were happy to squeeze into a tiny room for a couple of nights. The room was air-conditioned which was welcome as we visited in the middle of a heat-wave (by Luzern standards). Shower was small, but again was adequate. Don't expect this to be a flash place, its not, but if you are looking for a cheap hotel in an otherwise expensive European location & happy to lower your expectations for a few nights, this could work well for you. We didn't eat at the restaurant downstairs. The staff were friendly & helpful & spoke enough English for us to get by.
Tiny tiny room and really tiny bathroom. Bed and pillow comfortable. Thank goodness for the air conditioning since it was 90 degrees F. Our hallway is used as a storage area which gives a trashy appearance though our room is clean. Good enough for our one night but would not want to stay longer. Located in old town about 5 minute walk from rail station and Chapel Bridge.
For the very central location, the price is actually very worth it. The staff is friendly and were accommodating to our last minute booking. The rooms are very small, and efficiently appointed, very basic, small small bathrooms. We were told upon arrival our room was not ready but it would be in around 30 minutes, after a 1.5 hour lunch we returned to our room just being cleaned and the housekeeping rushing to finish, entering the room we still found small puddles of cleaning liquid here and there. Upon check-in the bus/ transport discount card was not made clear or offered.
Booked 2 nights at Falken hotel. The location is central among the shops. Is easy to find since is just at the Main Street. Is close to chapel bridge and also less than 7min walk from central train station. The hotel room is bad and smelly. The toilet is small with no amenities besides than towel. We stay at first floor near to the restaurant. The bed is so soft where we cannot sleep.
Awful stay !!! No tea/coffee making facilities ....no hot water ...not very clean...very worn and tired looking...staff not very helpful ( when actually there ) ...most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in ..ordered a double bed but actually got two singles pushed together....was not informed when bilking or checking in that the following morning at 6am there would be marching up and down alongside the hotel as a start to a festival...would not return or recommend
Hotel Falken is located in an excellent location, tucked away amongst shops and restaurants. There is however no parking (which was known at the time of booking). Gps lead us to the area, however it somewhat difficult to locate as there is no/limited signage directing guests to small alley to the front entrance. The hotel staff were polite, however the interior is dark and way overdue for an update. For the price at time of booking, the location was ideal. The bathroom is smaller, and the room was nothing special. For the extra money of other hotels in the area, would suggest entertaining a pricier room for a little bit more money to avoid parking fee of $38 francs in nearby garage. View of south side was of a department store. Front door closes at 9pm resulting in no extra assistance from staff if required.
Stayed for 2 nights as a last minute road trip holiday plan. Booked the family room as it was 5 people travelling for this trip. Check-in was smooth and the female staff was friendly and helpful. The room...well, it is the smallest family room I've ever been in my whole life! 5 of us could barely move around the room. The toilet is so small and the ventilation fan was very loud. The only plus side of this hotel is the location. Just a few minutes walk to the Chapel Bridge and other attraction. Extra charges about Chf24/day for parking if you are driving to the hotel.
In the city center and close to chapel bridge and railway station. Very convenient for day trips to surrounding attractions.Check in/out is easy and a lot of food options and shopping nearby. The room we stayed was ok as it was for 4 ppl with a bunk bed.
I love the location. It's near the train station and the Kapellbrücke. Just a few minutes walk. The room I stayed in was nice too. The staffs were also friendly. But the only problem is that the rooms are too small for the price we paid. I guess it's how it goes there but with that much money, I could stay at a very good hotel in our city. But overall, it was nice although I might think twice before coming back.
