A wonderful stay. Situated in a quiet quarter but close to travel links - this made for a perfect base for our 4 days in Kyoto. I absolutely loved our stay here. It was a quite, beautiful and dreamy neighborhood. I loved how big our room was compared to most hotels in the area. The rooms has everything that you need and more! If I am ever in Kyoto again I will be staying here again. This hotel has 100% set the standard pretty high for other hotels I stay at in Japan in the future.

The location was beautiful, small lake in front of property and lovely sitting area next to lake. Kevin was a wonderful host, he suggested a terrific little sake bar near the guesthouse. Kevin offered to drive us to the train station upon check out. That was such a generous and much appreciated gesture. Of the four different lodgings we had, this was by far the best!!

Kyoto Hatsune hotel was an amazing stay. The manager, Kevin, was incredibly kind and helpful whenever we needed anything. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed, including an amazing view of the city. The location cannot be beat — quiet but still conveniently located to the metro and everything we wanted to do in the city. I highly reccomend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto!

We had a great stay here. Perfect location near the canal and river as well as subway and bus connections. Loved how quiet it was here and Kevin went above and beyond to make sure guests felt welcome and comfortable. Also the cedar bath felt so luxurious. We'd definitely stay here again in Kyoto!

This is a bare bones “hotel” that is really more like a hostel. The proprietor was very nice but only there very limited hours. The room was clean and had everything we needed-no maid/cleaning services but there are extra towels/sheets in hallway. Downstairs in the small lobby doesn’t look very nice-dirty and cluttered-but the area is close to bus and subway service and rooms are clean and comfortable.

Location was in a secure neighborhood away from noisy bars and restaurants. About 10-20 minute walk to most attractions and shopping centers. The home was clean and private with a nice view of Kyoto since I was in the top floor.
