Can’t even imagine a hotel in a better area than this one! After traveling 2 hrs, & 15 mins on the bullet train from Tokyo, this places is worth a stop. I loved it! It’s an easy walk with your luggage’s from the train station. The mall is also in the train station or right next to it, and the hotel might be on or 2 buildings next to the train station. Very convenient! If you want to explore Kyoto’s more modern side, & or just want to drop your luggage off so you can explore the old town this is your hotel. I loved it.

Simply the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed at. I just loved the lobby - it felt like the palace in Dune, so open and artistic and beautiful. The room was wonderful. There was also an iPad that easily controlled lights and AC and it was not clunky at all, rather super easy to use. The staff were immensely friendly and helpful. Can't say enough about Thousand Oaks and I will definitely return.

One of best hotels I've ever stayed at, family of 4 in a suite. Modern, clean hotel with Japanese vibes, clean and convenient within 1 block from Kyoto station. Everything you could want in a hotel - respectful staff, clean facilities, quiet and in a great location. 10/10 would stay again
