Great place, central for everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of choices. Only snag was a tepid shower on my arrival, but that was fine by the morning.
From the minute we arrived in the early hours of Monday morning till we left Friday afternoon, nothing was too much for the staff to make us comfortable, always smiling, always ready to assist. The breakfast was a feast. . much more and bigger variety than ever expected! All the staff were wonderful, but I have to single out Farina - the most beautiful welcoming smile, Mahesh and Santosh - making you want to go in for the most enjoyable breakfasts, Andy, a walking public-relations waiter! We learnt more about Malaysia, the mixed culture, politics, food, people, royals during our dinners than anywhere else! Thank you Novotel Hotel. . .You will see us again! Lilian and Yvonne
Let me just summarize the good points: location and staff/service. Location is great and a few steps away from the pedestrian walk to the Petronas, the Pavillion mall and amidst the financial and business quarters. Staff was attentive, friendly and handle themselves with professionalism. Just I wish they were a bit more knowledgeable on the area, shops etc etc. The hotel facade and exteriors, apparently as it says in the elevator posts, in been painted. A huge work that will take 3 months and, for sure, a big chunk of money. However, I would have used the money for things that really need urgent attention. For example: 1- Rooms need an urgent, critical, refurbishing. I would say that nothing has been done in the last 20 years. Furniture is terribly, old (very) and way beyond the point or "replacement needed". All rooms are dark, creepy, no lights, dusty currains. 2- Bedding. This is supposedly a Novotel but instead you will find old worn down mattresses, with yellowish sheets and duvets, with hundreds of nights of use. Foamy pillows. Awful. Nothing to resemble the famous Accor beds designs, comfort and linen. 3- Bathrooms. Dark with dark old wood furniture. All repairs and paint jobs to extend the life of everything in the bathroom was clumsy and messy. It looks worse after the repairs 4- Breakfast incomplete. No cereals, no bread selection. All juices look so artificial with this unnatural bright colors. And the A/C at the breakfast room does not work so be ready to put up with aromas and sweat. 5- Others. No ropes in the closet, no vanity mirror, awful selection of TV channels limited to 10 choices where 2 are the own hotels. Everywhere you look its all damaged, repainted, repaired over and over, chipped, broken, missing, old... Is though a great value for the price. Just be aware, this is not what you would expect from a Novotel. If you can live with that, then this is the place for that short trip in KL. A real pity Mr. Accor. These guys in Kuala Lumpur are really kicking your brand. You may of course paint the hotel exterior, but If I was you, I will reconsider fixing the interior which is, at the end of the day, what we guests care about.
Just had three weeks there second stay comfortable clean rooms good food staff happy and helpful Mr John McEvoy Perth. Ps faizah Mohamed 👍👍 I would highly recommend a stay excellent pool area great restaurants
I booked a king size bed but was a bit disappointed when I found out that the King size bed was made up of two single beds joined together. Why can't the Hotel give us a true King size bed? The room was OK, cleanliness was OK. The only reason why I stay here is because of the proximity to KLCC. Breakfast in the morning esp. around 7am is very chaotic. They don't have enough alert workers to clear the table and ensure that cutlery is replenished on time.
I stayed at Novotel for 2 days. I arrived around 8.30am to check in and the manager immediately offered me an upgrade since my room was not ready yet, whereas the check in normally starts at 2pm. I got a room on the 24th floor (premium) with full access to the business lounge. The staff there was very professional with a human touch (they did not behave like polite robots, which is sometimes the case in this type of hotels). The food was good. The swimming pool is a bit small but I did not care much about that; some machines in the gym need some repair but it was not a problem either.
I recently stayed at Novotel with my friends in total 6 rooms for 4 nights. The service was good as always. I was really satisfied with the service, especially from Yoon Li. Novotel is always my first choice to stay at Kuala Lumpur.
Hotel in good location opposite Pavilion Mall. Upgraded to a suite because of Platinum status which was appreciated. Staff were friendly enough and welcoming. Annoying to be hit with 10 RM "government tax" upon departure. Why can't this be included in the room rate? When I got to the room, none of the bedroom lights were working. I called to reception who sent someone (15 minutes wait) who replaced a fuse. Hotel is clean enough but needs a refurbishment to fall into line with other Novotel Hotels in the region. All they would have to do is swap out the dark wood for lighter wood and the rooms and hallways would look so much brighter. The Executive Lounge was nice and breakfast up there a pleasant experience despite limited options. I'm not sure if there is an Express Check Out option for guests with Accor status - I waited a long time behind a large group of Chinese checking out which made me late heading to the airport... I just wanted to hand my key in as the room had been pre-paid which was very frustrating. Given the fact that this hotel is often a similar price to much more modern The Pullman nearby, I think I'll return to stay there until some refurbishment is undertaken at The Novotel. Good hotel with nice staff, just a bit tired and needs some freshening up.
Good location, nice room and slow internet (extremely slow). From the hotel, it’s easy to go around the Bukit Bintan area. Pavilion is just right in front with a lot of options for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was so so. Internet was extremely slow, sometimes useless.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful, from welcoming us to the hotel to giving sound direction advice and going out of their way to find out answers to silly tourist questions. Breakfast had a huge selection of European and Malay foods with juices and hot drinks. The room was well presented and fitted the requirements of two there for a weekend of Motorsport. Beds are a little short if you’re over 6’ tall but still very comfortable. House keeping were timely and presented the room immaculately every day. A minor issue with the door lock was quickly and efficiently dealt with and repaired. Recommended to travellers.
