Good stay for a conference... 5 mins walk on elevated walkway to the Convention centre. Three minutes to the Pavilion Shopping and eating. Bukit Bintang's delights just past there. Hotel is clean, efficient and staff very helpful. Recommended.
I couldn't agree more with other reviews that the hotel is rather aged. We have faced hot water failure/clogged basins during our stay. Upon feedback to the duty manager, we're glad that he managed to upgrade us to other rooms. With such a great location, it's a waste that they didn't get to revamp the building. I believe that friendly staff there can certainly achieve more if the hotel is new enough.
“Staff at the reception margaret, reka, michelle was very kind, explaining everything at your check-in, offering any other information you might need. The decor of the whole hotel is very cool and stylish, very cool vibe all around the premises. Room is pretty clean and the bathroom is clean and spacious, I particularly loved the little window facing the bedroom, of course, it, but it gives the room a nice vibe.
Well don't expect much for luxurious of 5 stars hotel, since it was a quite old hotel but affordable price to stay with a perfect location to pavillion mall in Kuala Lumpur. I stayed 3 days 2 night with my mom. Breakfast was quite mess, since so much visitors and we almost didn't get the food. The room was humid and the bathtub was broken. I couldn't use it. There was a fire alarm excercise (false alarm) so we couldn't check out at the hotel at noon. We have to wait almost an hour. The receptionists were good, well serviced. They lend me an umbrella when it rained outside. You can find taxi or uber or grabcar easily in here. And the pavi mall was only walking distant. There were an excalator to connect to the mall. Very worth he price I think.
Looking at the previous reviews on cleanliness and comments on refurbishment I called the hotel to check prior to booking and was informed that refurbishment will be done in April. I'm not certain what was refurbished but the rooms and the carpets leading to them were awful - you get a wet / musty smell and I'm not sure the carpets are well vacuumed in the rooms. It was pretty gross and this put a really damper on our stay. The staff were good in general (messed up a room service order and said they can't clean the room on the day we checked out - we were checking out late at 6 pm) but got that rectified. The bathtub didn't look clean either and so the kids couldn't enjoy a soak as they otherwise would have. Breakfast is a relatively small spread but there's enough and some dishes change everyday - the food was good. The location is what makes this hotel great as you can easily connect to the pavilion mall (and bukit bintang on the other end) and klcc (for the park, aquarium etc) via the overheard bridge.
The room was not bad but the hotel was out of hot shower for 2 days. Not sure how it happened but it wasn't pleasant. The hotel did informed the guests about this. The air con controller in my room was spoilt, temp stuck at some point, it was freezing cold. Breakfast spread was good though.
You can see many horrible reviews of this location and I never give a rating like this but they all encompass the problems with this property. I can say the staff I encountered were nice especially Pavitra from the club lounge. The fish rots from the head though from general manager and assistant level, enough said. Somethings like needing a renovation can’t be addressed but some like the rooms being extremely dark can be. 20+ floors and l1 of 3 lifts down leads to unacceptable slow times to get out of hotel. Overcrowded and dangerous lift. Yes the location allows you to walk across the street to mall but you can walk 1 block from better property.
The hotels is no doubt in the city centre but I am surprised how a group like Novotel has branded this property under its name, the rooms are small and not well maintained surely the hotel staff is all helpful but sorry I would not recommend the hotel to any traveller there are a no of properties around at similar rates the bell desk guys are cheats they charged me extra for airport and I was given to understand that a tip is to be given by the taxi driver to the bell desk they conformed to me that a Hotel taxi would drop me so the rate would be higher by about 20 MYR but when I came out a normal taxi was waiting which if I had taken on my own would have cost me only between 120 - 127 MYR. never expected this from a Novotel Group. From my experience, a NO NO to this hotel rooms also not good view also not good
Our room was quite comfortable and reasonably sized, although a bit dated. Comfortable beds, no complaints. Friendly staff at reception and restaurants. The location of the hotel is very convenient as it's just across the road from Pavilion via an overhead pedestrian bridge. Only thing I don't like is the narrow underground carpark.
