I would definitely stay here again. It was still under construction - the exercise room was not functional. The breakfast room was nice. Staff was okay. Rooms felt comfy, and had a large TV. Pool looked nice, but i didn't stay long enough to use it.
The staff at this hotel are the worst in the Choice chain. Avoid this hotel if you possibly can. I had inadvertently prepaid (this is still suspect as I booked on line), and arrived to find a construction mess, and told them I would stay the first night (I had booked 3) but would leave the next morning and wanted my money back for the next two nights. After I arrived and found out I would be dealing with a construction mess, I asked for an upper floor, and was given not a king which I booked, but 2 queens. Their response: "I don't know why you were given two queens." The next morning, after being told by Sandy the night before that the manager Nicole would be there then, things went from bad to worse. Nicole was completely unaccommodating - wanted to know why I wanted to leave, even after I had told Sandy (and her) the construction was the reason. Would not refund, told me to call corporate, but then added with a smirk "But they have to call me first." They had my money in that "prepay," and had no intention of refunding anything. After seeing how they operate and how they treat guests, I would assume a "prepayment" is the only way they can be assured of keeping any money. Also, once the charge appeared on my credit card (about a week before my visit), I called Sandy to tell her that was not intentional, and I was concerned as to what would happen if I couldn't make the trip. Sandy assured me I could get a refund under those circumstances. All a lie!! I will never stay again at this property, and I urge others not to too. This staff is not worthy of the Choice name.
The hotel has great potential as the breakfast wasn't bad, the pool area was nice, the staff was friendly, and the work that is completed looks very nice; however the hotel is currently under major construction which did disrupt our stay. The work is fairly loud, and the floors are all torn up which made moving my grandfather who is wheelchair bound very difficult. I'm sure it will be great once the work is done but right now they really should close during the work.
We stayed at this hotel twice in March 2018. We had three fraud charges added to our bill. The manager did not follow through with returned calls to fix the problem. Had to contact Choice charge card to rectify the problem. Had to get a new charge card because of this. Have stayed at Choice properties and never have had a problem like this.
Checked in after internet reserve to find a full remodel in process. Don’t plan on breakfast until finished. Two tables at front desk with snacks. Supplies throughout building. Should have closed for week, remodel then open fresh and new. To top it off as soon as we walked in room, barking dog above us that was fairly consistent. Now for the positive. Went to clerk with complaints. She quickly changed our room. Was somewhat updated. Mattress new. Average room with space. Amenities of frig, microwave, etc. maybe in future after remodel reviews will reflect better. Use comfort inn a lot in our travels. Not best choice this time
Currently, there is only one reason to stop here: if you are dead tired and desperate for a place to stop for the night, like I was. It was conveniently located just off I-40 and I was tired. I haven't been in a Comfort Inn for a long time and if this one is indication of their current shape, it's not good. But these guys were in the process of renovating. Dusty, noisy, everything lacking, even chairs in the room, it was bad. The only ray of hope were the people at the reception: all very friendly and nice. But seriously, this place should close until they are done with the renovation.
Filthy about sums it up. Although, the Breakfast lady and front desk lady were very nice people, they couldn't make up for the flea bag appearance of this place. If we had not been in so late and dead tired, we would have walked out despite the no refund policy from making the booking online. Our door was unlocked and open when we arrived at the room. There were two occasions during the night that we were awakened by drunks in the hall. Terrible value for the money they charge...drive by if you have a choice.
We had a very nice stay, the hotel was clean and the hotel was recently remodeled. The staff was of course wonderful. Staff now a days are very curtious and helpful. the breakfast was as good as always at comforts inns.
Previously stayed here, so booked again this year. Probably won't stay again. We are not hard-to-please people, but expect to get our money's worth. We had a Queen room on the second floor, as did our friends who were traveling with us. They had a Queen bed with 2 bedside tables, which we did not. We only had one bedside table, so had to rob a side table from chair in stairwell landing. Cons: -Non smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke, so we were given a can of industrial strength spray to mask the smell. -Toilet/tub and shower room door only cleared toilet by 1/4", so we had to walk in and to the very back of the toilet to close the door. Poor room design. The sink and vanity is in the entry hallway. -Room was dark - both floor lamps didn't work, one was unplugged and one just didn't work, most likely dead bulb. -Desk clerk let us check in early, but the rooms weren't ready, which was understandable. She was clueless as to how long we might need to wait. -Desk clerk couldn't give us directions to Oatman, which is a local tourist attraction. -Hubs found a nasty dirty towel behind the headboard on the floor - ew! -Couch and chair were stained. -Breakfast eggs were round and looked like fried, but not appealing. Pros: -Lemon water and coffee in lobby - good! -Shower worked great. -Breakfast attendant very friendly, efficient and cleared our plates. -Breakfast waffles were good.
With all due respect, this is an Econolodge at best, even if they sell 100$ per night rooms. I happen to travel a lot, as a Choice Privilege member I usually wound up at one of their hotels. This particular one stands squarely in the disappointing lot. The flip side I had a room on points. Just to give an idea: I've found my room devoid of ant courtesy item (e.g. soapbar), went looking for the housekeeper and asked for them. Sure enough, she never bothered resupplying the room. Staff not particularly friendly (a smile works miracles), I've found U.S. Post offices generally more welcoming. At 9 in the morning, a housekeeper knocks on your door and tells you abruptly: "You have until 11" - evac style. That's it - no good morning, no manners. My room had worn-out furniture and didn't look particularly clean. I am aware this is a franchise-operated hotel and I wonder if Choice shouldn't consider rebranding the facility. If you are fiecely loyal to them, you might as well stay on the Econolodge close to the airport. It's quite dirty and distinctly unfriendly in my own experience, but you save 50$ and pretty much you get what you pay for. Which is not the case with this Comfort inn.
