SpringHill Suites by Marriott Kingman Route 663.0 out of 5.0

The welcome to the hotel was sincere and warm, and everything after set this hotel above the norm I associate with Springhill Suites. The room was typical of the brand, but everything was perfect (clean and well supplied). And to our great surprise, the window opened so we were able to sleep with fresh air and without the sound of the air conditioner (it wasn't needed). The hotel is located along "hotel row" off I-40. Lots of choices (I've done one of the others previously), but this appears to be as good as it gets in the moderate price range. Not only were we pleased with the room and the attitude of the staff, but the breakfast was more generous and varied than I have seen at other Springhill Suites and much better than some of the other chains that typically provide breakfast (lots of fresh fruit and choice of cheeses, yogurt, and more). All in all, a good experience and an excellent stay.
from the initial Hello until we left, we had a most pleasant stay in a two week vacation road trip with many disappointments for much more money. We were so pleased with our room that we just stayed in that night after dinner to watch TV because it was so clean and comfortable, much different from the two previous nights at the Grand Canyon where we avoided our room at all costs.
Came in on September 20 due to having inside of our house repainted, and needed a chem-free room due to my wife's allergies. At first the room they had ready, wasn't quite right, so the manager had someone from housekeeping check it out and some room fresheners had been accidentally left in the A/C. No problem, found another room, no issues and the stay was refreshing. And, the breakfast is fantastic.
We arrived late a night to a friendly greeting from a clerk waiting for her last check in of the day. We jumped into very comfy beds and had a great night's sleep followed by a perfect breakfast. The hotel is spotless and the staff is friendly and concerned. I don't know when my travels may take me this way again, but I would definitely stay again!
Enjoyed my first stay at this property. Hotel and rooms look much younger than 8 years old except for the stains on the carpeting in my room. Very contemporary design and most functional. The room does need an in room safe like most hotels offer and also blackout curtains that cover the window. Mine were too short and the sun was streaming in at 6A, not what I wanted after a long day. Pool was out of order during my stay as were the two lobby computers but the manager graciously allowed me to use hers and she and everyone else that I met were very kind and gracious.
Like many others we stopped off here between the Grand Canyon and LA. The hotel has nice big rooms, friendly staff and a good breakfast included in the rate. We also heard large group of young people but they did not disturb us. Would have preferred an outdoor pool and pool needs painting. Parts of the room are tired especially the carpets.
I've stayed here a few times. The staff is always top notch. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The morning breakfast is a great way to begin your trip the following day. I will definitely be back. There are also several restaurants close by.
We stayed August 5-6, 2017, in room 417. The smoke detector started chirping from a low battery in the middle of the night, which was impossible to sleep through. It took a call and three visits to quiet the thing up. They said they'd see what they could do on the bill. When we left, we received no bill at all, which I thought meant it was zeroed out, which is what the Hampton Inn would have done (100% satisfaction guaranty). But a few days later I received my receipt; no discount at all. This probably will cure me of Marriott for the rest of my days. But honestly, every single room in this hotel has a ticking bomb in it that will make the room uninhabitable if it happens to go off while you're there. These are WIRED smoke detectors, so the risk of a low battery is infinitesimal. I don't think the incessant chirp is a good design for homes, but it is unconscionably bad for hotels. Have the low battery light up so that housekeeping can change it. Or have it chirp only during hours when housekeeping is likely to be in the room. The only reason I stopped at a hotel in Kingman was because I needed to sleep to be safe on the road. Springhill by Marriott did not deliver that sleep, and charged me the full rate. It probably won't happen to you, but it might.
My wife and I stayed here twice going and coming to California. I stopped in without a reservation on the way and the front desk clerk on the evening shift was friendly and accommodating. She helped me with my AAA discount and our room was quiet and clean. We stopped back in a week later and got one of 3 rooms that were left. The day shift clerk even went as far as to give us the room we had had a week before. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly. I just wish the breakfast lasted another 30 minutes because we missed it both times.
It is on Route 66 . The room was comfortable. It was nice to have the in room microwave. The 2 drawbacks, covered pool. Very loud and hot. All the other hotel on the street have outdoor pools. The hotel has 1 elevator. In the morning when you are on the top floor with luggage it takes a long time to get down or up. The free breakfast in the morning was very nice.
