This hotel is beautiful. Very large room. Extremly comfortable bed, and an amazing view of the grand traverse bay. We have stayed at multiple hotels and this for sure is sitting at the top. Staff was very friendly on arrival. Great place

I had a reservation for 2 suites. My son and his family(with 2 children) were not able to check into their room until 9:00 p.m. due to staff shortage. In addition, the inside pool was not available due to it “under repair”. Our room had the smell of dirty feet in the carpet. It was really gross when we would come in the room. The staff did what they could and were really stressed throughout our stay. We felt sorry for the entire staff and their situation. We have stayed here 6 years in a row and have paid at least $2,000.00 each time. We asked that the manager speak with us and they never showed up. We will definitely think twice about where we stay next year.

Beautiful view, nice room! Only wish is that the bathroom fan had a nightlight function or was a LOT quieter. Bed skirt color was clashing with the rest of the pretty room.
This hotel surpassed my expectations, the highlands room was very nice (I think they have taller ceilings than most hotels, it seemed more open) the bathroom was really large and the tub was really long which made it nice to relax in. There was a TV in the mirror of the bathroom. The pool is open 24 hours and it was really nice to be able to let the kids swim and we were able to relax in the hot tub later as well. The beach is not very big but I thought it was really nice, it is literally steps away so we visited the beach 5 times in our 1 night stay. Such a pretty view and ocean sounds. If you get a room on the opposite side you have an amazing view with a balcony. The breakfast wasn’t awesome, I’ve had a little better even during COVID. When we got there it was only pre packaged cereal, regular milk and some muffins, boiled eggs. It wasn’t really worth going down there. Also to be nit picky the front desk wasn’t overly friendly, and their system was down both times we went down there. But overall I was really happy we stayed there!

I felt unwelcome as I came in. I get that people have rough days but I was having one too and I was paying to be here, they were being paid to be here.
The staff very knowledgeable and engaged in conversation loved the convenience of the shuttle to down town
