Travelodge Kamloops2.0 out of 5.0

We cut our trip short to explore Kamloops and get the City experience. In retrospect, sleeping in the wilderness was probably cleaner, and more hygienic than this place. I checked for rates online prior to arrival and got a reasonable rate for a long weekend Sunday. Upon arrival, I asked the man at the front desk what the rate was an he gave me an amount $40 over what was listed online. When I asked him about the difference, he replied with "well I guess you're better off booking online". At this point, we decided to go ahead with the booking as it was getting late in the day - big mistake! The "pet-friendly" room they put us in was dirty, disgusting, and smelly. There were stains on everything and dirt on the window sills. The worst part was a loud screeching noise that would come on every 20 minutes or so. We had a terrible sleep that night and vowed to never stay in a Travelodge again. The owners should be ashamed.
We decided to leave our vacation early and split the travel home into two days with a stop over in Kamloops. After searching online for places on the drive we chose the Travelodge in Kamloops. When we got there we presented the price found online and they told us they would not match it and recommended we book it online and then come into pay. This should have been a warning sign. Pros: - Location is close to downtown Cons: - Room was dirty - There was a recurring alarm ringing every hour or so I would say all day and night for about two minutes each time. (We informed the staff about this and they had known about it for a long time and do not plan on doing anything about it) - Customer service was non-existent - Towels were stained - Shower overflows onto bathroom floor - No fan in the bathroom - $20 per pet fee - Shower is designed for person of average height. Anyone over 5'6" - 5'8" prepare to crouch to get your face wet. - Area outside of room smelled of cigarette smoke - Cannot read what temperature AC is set at. I'm 6'4" and wasn't tall enough to read the display To sum up, so far in my life this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had and the Travelodge franchise should be embarrassed. Stay elsewhere.
This property was newly renovated and the check-in personnel were very pleasant. The free breakfast was crowded and a bit if a free for all. An easier to use coffee system would be helpful
Have a small dog, sure they allow in pet friendly room. These rooms are absolutely disgusting, coffeee make broken, grime on floors. Plus they charge 20 per night extra for room and they don't even clean it. Staff rude after I complained and told me to stay somewhere else, which I will happily do. Oh...did I mention they put me next to a resident that was screaming all night? This place does not do Travel Lodges justice, be aware, very aware!
We stayed 1 night on the way from Alberta to Surrey. The rooms were small, there was chewed gum in the fridge, the towel bar in the bathroom was hung very crooked, with drywall repair patches below it. The continental breakfast was VERY basic, so we ended up going out for breakfast. The pool was clean, but very small. Definitely not worth the $138 it cost for 2 queen beds.
Excellent location, next to hospital. Very clean, economical. Friendly staff, all around good value. nice place. close to downtown as well. air-conditioned, coffeemaker, microwave and newly decorated.
This property is very conveniently located within walking distance to eateries and the museum, as well as historic downtown, as well as a short driving distance to Walmart, gas, and fast food establishments.
Had to wait for 3 hours to check in, because check in was not until 3 pm. Never even hurried to assist us any. There were rooms ready I am sure. Air conditioner was very noisy, so we were woke up every time it cut in. Will not stay there again.
I like the way they make you feel like in is at home. I like that the hot tub is salt water and pool.
As the name suggests , this is a lodge . It has a nice location with a view though . Being first week of July and holiday season , looked like all rooms were taken and the premises was busy . We had a quick check in by a pleasant and humble staff in the front office . We had requested for a room with 3 queen beds .It did come with a small kitchen as we had our own food to be heated and this did the job . Room was immaculate and clean . We got the ground floor and did experience a little noise from the occupants of room above . We had a night to spend as we were enroute to Banff/ Canmore , so wouldn't have to worry but if you have romantic evening planned , either request for a highest room or avoid tourist season . Room did have complimentary breakfast included , which is a plus All is all very good .
