I'll start with the positive points: There is free parking. The WiFi isn't too bad (10-15mb download). The rooms are a decent size. The soap in the room is quite nice. Now the not so good: I don't think my bed was changed, as there was hair in it and on the pillow. I slept between the bedsheet and the sheet under the duvet. There were holes, and stains on the sheets. The fridge is loud and distracting, as is the air-conditioning. In a room for four people, there were two 'large' towels. I say large, if tied at my waist, they didn't reach my knees... There was one spare pillow for a room of 4 - this didn't have a cover on it. There is no soundproofing from the corridors, and given that no of the floors or ceilings and straight, let alone parallel with each other, there's a lot of light that shines in under the doors. Road noise is easily noticeable too. The plug in the shower is gravity activated, so is always closed unless you hold it open - who wants to manually drain their water?! All in all, not somewhere I'd recommend, and I wish we'd driven from Jasper to Vancouver in one hit, rather than stopping overnight.
Big clean room, amazing view of river/mountains, great basketball hoop outside, renovated bathroom, continental breakfast, 2 kids, 1 dog, 2 parents, lowest priced and best kept secret in Kamloops, definitely return, will definitely stay here again.
Reception and check-in was efficient. The room was clean and large. Rooms on the south side have large windows with a great view. Bathroom was clean. Close to university and shopping areas. Television working. Good value for the price.
I don't do reviews very much but .. The bed was not comfortable! I stayed there for 4 days..better to stay 1. Found hair in my bed every night and on the carpet. Bathroom could have been cleaner. And the room didn't have a nice smell to it, Smelt like smoke a bit. Customer service was good. Good place if passing through town for one night (only)
Bed had hair and sheets weren't clean, room had a bad odor while it said no smoke. Would not recommend this place. I would highly recommend going somewhere else and pay the extra $$ for a better room.
I stayed in this hotel because it is close to University as well as downtown. I found downtown hotels are more noisy and missing beautiful view of mountain. The front office staff was helpful and also suggest me the nearby restaurants. Front office staff suggest me to upgrade my room to the view side and I agree to try this. The room was cleaned, with flat screen TV, The room was full of amenities from microwave to small refrigerator and bath tub. In the next morning I got a free breakfast which was really awesome. I found this motel is having best facilities with least price.
This would have to be one of the nicest motels I've stayed at. Customer service was friendly, room was large, clean and updated. Had microwave and comfortable bed, and a nice clean kitchen for the breakfast area. Great stay!
I booked a room for this hotel online. My partner and I drove to Kamloops from out of town. Once we checked into our room, we noticed food smells in the hallways. Apparently, this hotel has gone through renovations. It has not been upgraded well. Can only imagine what the place looked like before. After being firm with the front desk staff we were given a refund and then we relocated elsewhere.
Booked last minute through Hotels.com. I got what I paid for... Room was half decent, clean. But smelled of second hand smoke (despite all rooms being non-smoking). Neighbouring room was very loud, still watching TV at 0100 with volume quite high. I called the front desk to complain but did not notice much noise reduction next door. I spoke to the front desk the next morning and he apologized profusely about the second-hand smoke. As well, he said he called the neighbouring room but nobody answered. Well no kidding... perhaps if nobody he answered, then that would mean a visit to the room to check? Anyway... a place to crash for the night... or your car if you want to save a few bucks...
I booked to stay here and checked into my room and was greeted by a disgusting musty old smell -- it smells like a 50 year old carpeted apartment building with 10000 people's cooking fermented into the walls for years on end... Then I inspected the bed for signs of bedbugs, as I do everywhere I stay -- and I saw hairs of varying colors and lengths, including pet hairs, on every single layer of bedding. I then picked up the mattress and saw a HOLE chewed into the bottom of the mattress, with little bits of wood or cardboard, and who knows what else, spewed onto the top of the box spring. I opened up a window and saw POO on the curtain - actual brown poo stains. Also a huge stink bug and 2 flies were on the window.. not dead but alive. At that point I went to the front desk and asked for a refund immediately. They insisted on putting me into another room. I humored them and told them to stay while I inspected the room. This second room was in the "updated" section of the hotel, they told me. "All new renovations, new mattresses, etc"....Within 2 minutes, I found hairs on the bedding of both beds, all the layers of bedding, including under the pillows etc. Frigging gross. There was dirt and hair on all the baseboards, everywhere you looked was just caked layers of dust and germs. Once again, I told them that I wanted a refund. The front desk person told me they'd call the manager... The manager refused a refund. I called the online reservation webite that I booked it on, and told them the situation. Even though I had prepaid and it was "non-cancellable", they were horrified and immediately refunded the payment. DONT STAY HERE. Seriously. I've attached photos... See for yourself.. I'd have given this zero stars but they made me put at least 1 star.
