we have been on a road trip through the Rockie Mountains and have to say this is the worst hotel we have stayed in! Luckily we only stayed one night, otherwise we would have moved to elsewhere. Our room was dirty, the headboard was thick of dust as were the lamps and all flat surfaces. The sink was actually in the room and not the bathroom???? The bathroom and shower were covered in hairs, they were even on the floor. Dont book this hotel!!
Stayed here for 3 nights for the BC Winter Games in 2018, the host hotel for our sport was the Sandman Inn and Suites. Tried to upgrade our room but they were full. Understandable. They have only 2 choices for rooms anyway, two doubles or one queen so not much to choose from anyway. They have no elevator, which was a bit of an issue as my wife has trouble with stairs, but we couldn't change so we took our time with the stairs, The first night my wife wanted to take a bath but unfortunately the water was turned off for about 2 hours because they had a burst water line outside, so we waited. Two hour later bath time, Long story short we called down to the front desk about 5 times for various reasons such as they cleaned the room, took old towels but did not replace them, wifi password, wake up call etc. 3 out of 5 the front times the front desk did not even answer the phone. When they did they were very friendly but getting them was difficult. If you want an inexpensive hotel that is getting older, but is clean and the service is good when you can get a hold of them, then this is the place. Passing through, tired, cheap night come and gone, done. But it is beside a great Denny's
Reasonably priced and comfortable rooms in a handy location a short walk from everything in downtown Kamloops. The buildings is old so not all the amenities, thin single pane windows, etc. The service is very friendly and it feels very comfortable staying here.
We stayed two nights at the sandman as it is close to the hospital and the Welcome Back private clinic. Reception were very helpful and pleasant. The room was small but adequate. Bathroom tap was plentiful while the show was minimal. That was all good. The bed was so comfortable it was had to leave it in the morning. The only disappointing part was although they advertise fast WiFi it was the worst WiFi I have experienced. It would time out all the time. The receptionist says it is going to be redone next week. If it isn’t fixed I wouldn’t stay there again. In this day and age WiFi is extremely important. Room was quiet and there was good parking available. There is no elevator.
They have a slow or no wifi service. The room is noicy. You can ear everything outside and including the others rooms. Rooms needs some refresh but they are clean. Well located in the middle of the city and near good restaurants
Great little hotel, very clean and everything we needed including fast internet and great room service. Dennys diner across the car park is greatly convieneitnt and everyone is friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
First of all, there are 2 short flights of stairs to get to the check in desk. No luggage trolley, and wouldn't work, obviously, if there was one. Room, extremely small. If you are a large person, get prepared to stand in the bath tub, to close bathroom door. Not kidding. Had I known, we would have stayed at the Sandman Signature, for peanuts more.
Stayed here for one night on our road trip to Calgary. The rooms are very tired and dirty. Carpets worn. Do not stay here and would not recommend . Also not in a nice part of town didn't feel safe walking with our 10 year old daughter back to the hotel in the evening. Very basic accommodation
Rooms were very clean, parking was a little tight. Later in the evening the parking lot filled up fast. Rooms were updated. Super comfy beds and pillows. I'll be staying again for sure. Only complaint is we were put right off of the lobby so we could here everyone checking in and out of the hotel. And the door was sticky. Like the latch was hard to close you essentially had to slap the door to shut it.
My sons baseball team was in Kamloops this past weekend for a large baseball tournament with 25 teams. Our team had been given this hotel as one that the tournament organizers had blocked off rooms for teams. In total there were to be 13 or 14 rooms held by confirmations for us all as we had all booked via a link from the tournament. When we began to arrive 3 families were told that they no longer had rooms as the night staff had used whiteout to cancel the reservations for some unknown reason. I was told that my reservation was at the other Sandman hotel and no longer with the team. Even though I had called to confirm just the day before. Thankfully we were able to have rooms all together other than one parent who was travelling alone. Once in the rooms, as a group we had the following issues: - no towels - no toilet paper - ants in the kitchen - dried blood on towels and sheets - unclean bathrooms - keys that only worked for a few hours a day - one family were unable to enter their room for 2 hours due to their lock not working. Then had to remind the staff about the broken lock the next day to have it fixed. And we're told, "don't close your door if you leave" - A/C not working in a few rooms, guests were given a fan while temps were over 30 degrees - rooms not made up until 5pm, yet the cleaning chart sat in the hallway in the same spot for over 3 hours I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and suggest that Sandman look into their brand. While dealing with these issues, we were told the manager quit! We do not blame her!!
