Four Points by Sheraton Kamloops3.0 out of 5.0

My vision when thinking any hotel in the Sheraton group is one of quality and high standards. The Kamloops "Four Points" name could easily stand for the four points they are missing in the 5 star rating. The aircon is loud and barely works. The room is hot and stuffy with no room to move. The premises is extremely tired and run down. Where it is located is 25 minutes out of the town centre with no restaurants located nearby other than the one attached to the premises. My experience was not good and would certainly not return in a hurry.
We had a one night stay as part of the Rocky Mountaineer Tour. We arrived late evening to Kamloops with a smoke filled sky and the town working hard to accommodate the thousands of evacuees because of the fires. Our room was very large and actually was two rooms, with a double bed in each, a kitchen with stove and full size fridge freezer - ideal for a family. Feeling grateful that we had such a clean and comfortable bed for the night.
My first stay at this hotel was not great, however I said I would try again. This time our room was wonderful!!!! We had a great view of the city. The room had a vaulted ceiling, with windows all the way up. The room was clean with all the amenities. The bathrooms are very small, but adequate. We had an early flight to catch and had to leave at 4:30 am. There was no one at the desk, even when I tried to call out. However, my invoice appeared quite quickly in my email account as we were waiting for our flight.
We stayed one night while travelling through the town on the Rocky Mountaineer train. So impressed not the newest of buildings but very well maintained and cared for. The staff we met were lovely We would recommend here if visiting
We were married on July 8, 2017 and stayed in the honeymoon suite for 1 night on our wedding night. Overall, the room was clean and well appointed. Gas fireplace and nice jetted tub for 2 people. 2 bathrooms as well was convenient. No complaints with the room at all. Unfortunately, the staff didn't live up to the expectations of their commitments. I explained to the staff prior to the wedding day (on 2 separate occasions) that I would have some friends show up to stage the room for our wedding night and would hope that they could have the room cleaned as early as possible to allow our friends to stage the room appropriately. I was assured (twice), that the room would be cleaned by housekeeping as soon as the previous night's tenants checked out. This wasn't the case as our friends could not get in to the room until 1:45 PM and as a result, almost ended up being late for the 3PM wedding. Secondly, a family member was thoughtful enough to send a basket containing champagne, glasses, and candle to our room on our wedding night. They requested (twice) to have the champagne put on ice and were assured that the staff would take care of that request. When we got to the room at 1 AM, the basket containing the champagne was sitting on the desk in the room and not on ice as promised by the staff. Disappointing to say the least that the staff was unwilling or unable to execute a couple of simple tasks... Overall, despite these hiccups, the room itself was nice and breakfast the following morning at the hotel restaurant was delicious. Some more attentiveness by the staff would have made this stay perfect.
We needed GPS to find this place but we're happy to find it. It is near a convention centre I wasn't aware of. In walking distance to a mall, movies and a variety of eating establishments. Check-in was prompt. The rooms were clean and tidy. Wifi was excellent. The lobby was large and had a nice area with a computer, coffee, chairs and TV. Parking was adequate and above ground.
We stayed here and we were surprised by the size of the rooms especially after staying at Fairmont's for the passed few days. Our room had two queen size beds in it yet there was still room for a wardrobe, desk and luggage stand. The bathroom was a bit on the tiny side with a shower over the bath. The tv in the room is centrally located and quite a decent size. The air con didn't work which was a disappointment. The hotel is out of town but there is a shuttle to use which is convenient.
Great hotel, not in downtown which is nice for security for your vehicle overnight. Gas station right next door - convenient! Hotel pillows were great, and the bar and restaurant were open till 1030pm! Fab.
On our road trip to Lake Louise from Victoria we stopped here for the night. If we didn't pre pay for the room and we were able to get refunded, I would of canceled our room and kept driving. There were 2 spiders in our room when we checked in, and the room felt disgusting. It was moist in there. I examined the bed before getting into it, that is how dirty it felt to me. The fitness center is right next to the pool and there were about 20 kids running around from the pool and down the halls. The fitness center was soaked. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, it was okay. I had granola for breakfast, that was delicious. Our server for breakfast was the best part of the hotel. She was very friendly. The overall hotel grossed me out. The staff was nice, but I would not stay here again.
After a day on the rocky mountaineer this was the motel they allocated to us for the night, room 207. Not sure where it was in relation to the town because train didn't get in until dark so we couldn't go out for a walk. Room was a good size. Plenty of lamps for lighting and many power points to recharge appliances. The rooms also had a microwave, small electric cooktop and fridge. There is also a table and chair setting. Coffee maker but not very generous with creamer only had 2 single containers so if you wanted more than 1 cup of coffee you were in trouble. Canadians and Americans love that creamer stuff but us Ozzies don't use it, please motels supply little containers of milk for those that don't like creamer. The bed is an extremely comfy king size one, slept like a baby. Bathroom is relatively small. Very clean and no mould. Good exhaust and heater which heats the room up fabulously. Shower is in the bath and dispensers on the wall have soap/conditioner/shampoo, hairdryer, smallish bath towels not plush either, they also supply mouthwash which I have never had before in a motel room. Overall a pleasant, comfortable stay.
