The hotel looked nice and the location had many options nearby for food, however, the noise factor was hard to ignore. Coming in from the West Coast, we were not expecting to be up early let alone on a weekend. Saturday morning by 8am we heard a door constantly being slammed below us and then what we later discovered was hammering. Before 10am jack hammering started. My mom spoke to the general manager that day and was told it was not supposed to start before 10am and would address it. Evidently the message was lost because once again, on Sunday, the construction started around 8am. I understand construction can be necessary but the hotel should consider communicating that up front. Also, the hours seem a bit aggressive. If they had stuck to 10am that would be understandable but to hear slamming doors, hammering and other sounds at 8am on a weekend is earlier than even housekeeping started. In addition, when we arrived, we were given a room where the door was standing open. Then on the Saturday of our stay, I left the room for the day (mid-morning) and saw the housekeepers were still on the floor. I removed the sleep sign from the handle as a I left. Despite being gone for 7+ hours, the room was never cleaned and we had to call the front desk at 7pm requesting new towels. There was also trash in the hallway all 3 days we were there that was never picked up. I know things happen but seemed like there were a lot of misses and lack of communication to help the customer experience be better.
We stopped here for one night while traveling through the Midwest. We knew it wasn’t a 5 star hotel, so didn’t expect that level of accommodation. We arrived after 10:00 pm and were greeted and checked in promptly and professionally. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful, our room was clean and quiet, and the included breakfast offered hot and cold food options. The rooms are quite small but have everything you need for a quick stopover.
We only stayed here for a few hours as a pit stop on our road trip, but the service was good, the room was nice, and the beds were comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was pretty good too, but there wasn't coffee available when I was in the lobby.
Typical FI under the Marriott Brand. But we got in late from a gymnastics meet (both weekend nights) and front desk let us hang in the lobby and have good adult conversation one night and let us take the girls swimming a little past closing time after the last meet. It was much appreciated!
We stayed here for one night during the hotels construction phase. The overall experience was just average. The most disappointing thing was the poor/lack of internet service. I had planned to work remotely and couldn’t. I effectively lost a half day of work because i couldn’t connect. Also, the pool was closed for renovations and they don’t have a fitness center, both amenities that we enjoy when traveling. There were some nice restaurants within walking distance and we were able to get a nice hot meal without much effort. The morning breakfast was good, I was surprised to see fresh fruit as an option. All and all because there are many other hotel options in the same area, I would try another one before going back here.
As a lifetime platinum member, I have stayed at Marriotts around the World. The staff here is second to none. Starting with Brandy the GM, she made accomodations so that our entire college wrestling team, family members, and coaches had everything that we needed. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond what most staffs do to make sure that our rooms were ready and and the breakfast was ready early.
We've stayed here many times and have been satisfied. However, this time it was a mess. They've decided to do all sorts of renovation at the same time. The front entrance is all tore up, they're replacing the showers and retiling the bathrooms, replacing Smart TVs, and must be replacing the doors of each room because the new doors are all over each hallway. Yes they decided to do all of these things at once. Out of my 4 day stay, my cable worked less than 2 days, was told the TV was going to be replaced, never was, the brand new shower door was already broke, water was shut off for an entire day without being told, and on the last night my heater went haywire. I put the thermostat on 65 because my room was getting hit but within 2 hours my room was at 80 degrees and no matter what I did with the thermostat it wouldn't quit blowing hot air. I ended up laying on the floor and yanking the plug out of the wall so it would stop. I like the location of this hotel but there doesn't seem to be much organization on this renovation. Super disappointed!!!
We stayed here for a weekend soccer tournament with our oldest daughter. We had a King/sofa sleeper room. The king sized bed was very comfortable and we slept well! The sofa bed was not comfortable and had a stain on it so my daughter just put the sheets over the couch and slept on that. The room itself was laid out differently, and because of that, when the sofa bed was out, you couldn't really get around the bed to get to the bathroom or out of the room. Overall the room just felt much smaller than most rooms we stay in at hotels, but it was clean and quiet. The breakfast bar was ok. There was some hot food, which is nice, but nothing really extraordinary. It is free afterall. :) The only other thing I would like to mention is that the pool area needed some serious attention. There was a lot of hair, dirt, and even a few bandaids, on the floor. Probably one of the dirtiest pool areas I've ever seen. I've worked in a couple popular hotels when I was younger, where the pool area is always busy, and I've never seen one that gross. The pool and hot tub themselves seemed ok though. My daughter and I didn't stay in there too long but we did enjoy about 10 minutes in the hot tub, which was pleasant for her after a day full of soccer. Overall, I wouldn't say it was a bad experience. We enjoyed our sleep as we had a comfortable bed, my daughter said the couch was "comfortable enough" to sleep on, and the staff were all VERY nice and that matters the most to us. The pool area just needs more attention. I would stay here again if we were in the area.
The hotel is fine for the price paid. Average rooms, nice breakfast, great location, staff hit or miss. There is construction/remodeling happening now, but we didn't have any issues with noise. The pool is closed. We booked late for a sporting event and had few options, but if other hotels in area were available, I would book elsewhere. Staff: We checked in around 8PM on a Friday night. The desk clerk was sitting in the lobby/breakfast area eating with someone else when we walked in and upon requesting our name said "Finally, you are my last one of the night.' I am not sure what she meant, but she didn't offer any greeting other than that and simply handed me my keys (I had checked in via mobile) and went back to her discussion/dinner. Not a great first impression. Room: We were assigned the room directly across from the elevator (mid-floor), which seemed odd as I had requested end of hallway room and the hotel was maybe 1/3 full. The room was large and appointed as expected. The linens were clean and of decent quality, but the sheets were not meant for a larger king-sized mattress, you could see the mattress and no amount of pulling could make them fit any better. The door to our room has a 1 inch gap at the bottom and a 1/2 inch gap at the top - meaning that we could hear every sound in the hallway. The bathroom was typical size and the extra towels requested were available upon arrival. The wall behind the door was dirty (stains) and the shower head was not adjustable. We chose to decline housekeeping on our second day, but the woman was very helpful, pleasant and offered replacement towels/toiletries/coffee etc. She was the most pleasant person we interacted with all weekend. Breakfast: It is free and there are hot and cold options. If you are expecting restaurant quality, you will be disappointed. Options were still available later in the morning and replenished as needed. The waffles and fruit were very good. Location: The immediate area has many restaurant and shopping options. Easy on/off to I-65 and a quick 10 minute commute into Downtown Indy on the weekend.
Average hotel. Internet and tv had constant problems. Close to some fun restaurants. Room key problems were daily. Decent stay for the price. The staff was very helpful. Renovations were taking place during my stay so this may help for future stays.
