£164 - breakfast NOT included. Apparently a spa hotel. But if you want a robe, that’s another £5. Go to the spa area and have your olfactory glands abused by the smell of rogan josh and masala....not the typical eucalyptus or lavender you would expect. Spa area is like a poorly maintained pool at a run down comprehensive school. Men’s changing room is shared with urinals and the smell to go with it. The previous night we stayed in a hotel in Wrotham. Lovely 15th century inn for £119. This included a beautiful character room, three course meal and breakfast....for two. Now that’s the way to do it.’ve over priced yourself and under-delivered.

We really did have a lovely time at this hotel... Was beautiful to look at and staff were lovely... We even got upgraded because the room we had... The air con wasn't working and was so hot... But the room was lovely and clean... But the new room... Wow... Amazing. Food at dinner was lovely, only criticism is it was way to quite and dull atmosphere but food was great. The one thing that let's this hotel down massively is the pool... Please dnt believe the pics you see... Its tiny, needs decorating badly and dirty with stuff everywhere... But we had massages the next which were lovely... The pool area stops us from wanting to re visit.

We are regular guests and have been delighted to see all the renovations over the past few years. Hopefully the spa will be next as it really is the most awfully neglected part of the hotel and needs a major overhaul. We avoided it completely last visit as the aromas from the adjacent Holy Pundit restaurant are just too overpowering. We often stay at spa hotels in the UK and the Hythe spa is easily the worst and lets the hotel down.

My father was born in Hythe, 92 years ago and left when he was 12. Now he is terminally ill, his ‘bucket list’ wish was to walk along Hythe seafront again. He would also describe as a youngster looking up at the Imperial and wondering what it was like inside - something that was out of his reach at the time. We helped my father achieve his goal of taking a few steps along the seafront and booked him in to stay in the Imperial. I cannot praise the hotel staff enough for the care and attention they gave my father. Special mention to Yvonne on reception who was fully aware that District Nurses would be calling every day, Ben, the head chef, who called me personally to discuss food preparation for dad and Lewis the Maitre D for being attentive to dad’s needs. The hotel itself was clean and very comfortable and we would recommend a stay here for anyone.

The hotel has recently been refurbished and the whole building ,is in excellent condition. Staff were all helpful, but were let down by lack of things you would normally expect to be in a hotel of this class. As mentioned by other people there are no flannels in the bathroom, The bar offered only one kind of non alcoholic beer, it was out of stock during the duration of our 4 night stay. At breakfast yogurt ran out on two mornings, and sauces on one morning. Bedroom tissues (paper hankies) ran out and were not replenished. We asked to book dinner one day at about 5.00 pm for a 7,30 sit down. we were told that 7.30 was full, but they would try to find us another clot. they came back with 7.15. We went down for 7.15 and were seated after the Maitre d explained that he had to do a lot of juggling to accommodate us. This seemed strange as the Dining Room was almost empty. We kept an eye out for the &.30 rush, but it was only two people, same at 8.00 pm, just two people. There was plenty of space and enough waiting staff (although without a clue as to how to present wine for tasting). We guessed that the problem must be in the kitchen, probably not enough staff there. Staff were always helpful, especially helping my wife when she got lost in the corridors, and fitting us in for dinner. however they seemed to be battling against operating on a shoe string without the facilities to be able to give the level of customer service from a hotel of he level the imperial pretends to be.

Stayed here overnight on August Bank Holiday Monday. Previously here Easter Bank Holiday, Check in excellent as before, informative Receptionist. Was upgraded to a front sea view room - THANK YOU. Room spacious, immaculately clean. Breakfast, as before, very good and, again, lovely staff. Superb location on sea front, We hope to return for a 3rd stay. Thank you all,

Service and glamour at a reasonable price , good food at a fair price that's is well cooked and professional served with diligence. Cant praise the hotel enough this was our 3rd visit as a treat. Sports facilities available but not our scene

Lovely old building, but very tastefully decorated and modernised. Our room was spacious with a lovely en-suite,it felt like it had just been decorated.Great position, right on the sea front.Very pleasant and helpful staff,we will certainly stay here again whenever we use the channel tunnel.

Four of us booked into two rooms. The rooms were clean and spacious with a sea view (overlooking the wheelie bins though!). Nice fluffy hand and bath towels provided but no Facecloths were provided in either room, so showering or washing using hands to spread shower gel is the order of the bathroom. Surely two Facecloths per room wouldn't break the bank? Hotel bar staff seemed not to know too much about the hotels amenities, but they went off to find out. Would have thought by almost the end of the summer season they would know most simple things like "Can you get a bar drink outside in the afternoon sun"? But they didn't! Champagne bar is expensive and the Tapas is ridiculously over priced for four very small desert spoons full of prawn or beef! Main restaurant is good, but the Matradee needs to light up as he was very surly! I ordered a medium/well rib eye steak and at around £29 its not a cheap option. Unfortunately, it was dry and hard to chew and I'm sure it wasn't rib eye? Usually rib eye has a small piece of fat in the middle and is succulent! It wasn't neither! Should have complained but as it was a special stay and dinner for us all I didn't want to rock the boat! Over all a nice stay with some silly items that could so easily make the stay much better. Of most concern is the apparent lack of electrical safety testing! (PAT check and inspection) Our rooms hairdryer would fail a PAT inspection. The mains cable was coming out of the Switched fuse spur connection and its PAT inspection label is dated as being carried out on 05/15 some 4 years previously!! Bathroom shaving mirror is loose and the LED lit wall mirror is chipped lower right and the mirrors LED lights didn't work - shaving with just the down lights of the ceiling is not ideal.

Lovely hotel in great location, we had a lovely sea view room with air conditioning which was a blessing with the hot weather. Breakfast on Monday was not a good experience, we was seated at a dirty table and had to wait for it to be cleaned. We wasn't offered tea or coffee or explained how things worked. The man that seemed to be in charge was constantly calling one of the staff members names 'Jack, jack' that's all I could hear the whole time we was in the restaurant. That poor boy seemed very flustered. The quality of the breakfast was not good at all. Tuesday's breakfast experience was totally different, none of the same staff as the morning before, all of the staff members were very friendly and attentive and we were offered tea and coffee as soon as we were seated. The quality of the breakfast itself was excellent. It was like we were in a different hotel. Despite Mondays experience we wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately you had no availability. We will definitely be returning but will book a longer stay next time.
