I really try to find the positive in every situation, but this stay was beyond disappointing. The staff was great so no complaints about that, but whoever is managing the property did a horrible job. We came here to celebrate my 50th birthday and no matter where we went by the hotel there was ongoing construction noise. Very loud. Jackhammers, drills, constant buzzing even when we were trying to relax at the beach. Instead of hearing the lovely waves, all I experienced was my head pounding. 6 days total and not a single day at the hotel was relaxed. Even over the weekend. I guess they were fixing the balconies and parts of the inside which I got emails about (literally so late that we couldn’t change our plans) so parts of the common areas were minimized to walk through. For my first Hawai’i trip, I wish this hotel didn’t ruin my experience but it definitely did. Came back home with an unmemorable birthday, multiple headaches and no relaxation. Whoever manages the timing and noise of this construction, do better. And if you’re considering staying here please confirm if there will be any construction otherwise you will throw your money down the drain like I did. Final note: even the shuttle pickup (but through Expedia) was an hour late.

Amazing hotel! I would stay here again. It is close to everything! You step out and the beach is in front of you. I really enjoyed my stay! 10/10 would recommend the hotel, it’s gorgeous!

We were notified 2 days prior to our stay of the balconies being redone. 2 restaurants were closed. The pool was so loud from the construction we could bear the noise. We were continually bugged to pick polyp our gift. There was no gift it was a time share switch and bate

Stayed at the Marriot for 7 nights and it was great! I was a little worried based off of some reviews I read, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. Great location and easy access to everything you need. Friendly staff and exceptionally clean. Makes you feel like you're at a resort with everything they offer. Would highly recommend!

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unacceptable Stay at Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Dear Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa from October 1st to October 7th. From the moment I arrived, the experience was far below expectations. The airport pick-up was delayed, and check-in took much longer than acceptable. Upon finally getting to my room, I discovered it was not the ocean view room I had booked and paid for. I had to request a room change to a higher floor just to get a partial view. Furthermore, there was constant construction noise, and the environment was stuffy, dusty, and uncomfortable. It made it nearly impossible to relax or enjoy my stay. I paid for a premium experience and instead dealt with disruption and inconvenience throughout the trip. To add to the frustration, I was offered a cruise around the islands that was presented as complimentary, only to later find out it cost $150 per person. This felt misleading and unacceptable. Given the numerous issues I experienced — including the late transportation, delayed check-in, incorrect room assignment, construction disturbances, and misleading charges — I am formally requesting compensation or a partial refund for my stay. Dear Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa from October 1–7. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations for a premium resort. The arranged airport transportation was late, and the check-in process was unnecessarily slow. Upon arrival, I found my room did not match the ocean view I had booked and paid for. Only after a request was I moved to a higher floor with a partial view. Just hours before arrival, I was informed of ongoing construction—too late to make alternate plans. The noise was constant, and the resort felt dusty, stuffy, and poorly ventilated. The pillows in my room were visibly dirty and emitted a foul odor, making it difficult to relax. I was also offered a "complimentary" cruise, only to later learn it cost $150 per person—an unexpected and misleading charge. These issues—delayed transport, slow check-in, incorrect room, poor cleanliness, last-minute notice of construction, disruptive environment, and misleading pricing—were deeply disappointing. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience. I stayed at this hotel expecting a relaxing getaway, but instead was met with loud construction noise throughout the day. There was no mention of ongoing renovations when I booked, which feels incredibly misleading. From early morning until late afternoon, the sound of drilling, hammering, and heavy machinery made it impossible to rest or even hold a conversation in the room. It completely ruined the atmosphere and made it hard to enjoy any part of the stay. When I brought it up to the front desk, they offered a vague apology but no real solution or compensation. For the price I paid, I expected a peaceful experience—not a construction site.
