Yes - they have a "brewing company" attached to hotel, but it claims to be open until midnight (but actually closes at 11:30. Yes - they have a 24 hour front desk, who will refer you to the Hilton 1/2 mile away for food or drink late night No - they are not on the beach No - they do not have room service No - their room's air conditioning does not work well (my colleagues requested fans and for maintenance to override their room AC settings to actually have cool rooms Additionally, they have private events 2 of the next 3 days that will have the entire pool closed --- but this wasn't communicated when I booked (neither through my corp site nor when I did a price compare on their hotel website) They considered it a reasonable alternative to walk 1/4 to 1/3 mile in my bathing suit on the public street & return in a wet bathing suit --- if you are 20 an skinny this may suit you, but at my age it wasn't an attractive option (for me nor anyone who has to look at me walking in public in a wet bathing suit) For my stay this week the Marriott was over 30% cheaper (and has 24x7 room service and a better beach view & restaurant atmosphere And the Hyatt Regency was only $10/night more expensive with many more amenities Really disappointing even though I researched and their very recent remodel was completed in April If I make another trip to Hawaii , I will not stay at this property
We have small children so the location made it so easy to get around with them. A short walk to the beach and right in the heart of the shopping!!! Was a great stay and would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
We just spent 7 nights as a family of 4 at the Beachcomber and were not disappointed. The location is 10/10. Opposite the Cheesecake factory, above Maui Brewing Co and 1 street back from the beach. Hotel has recently been renovated and looks great. Rooms are however quite small with double beds and balconies didn't feel terribly safe for children to be on however we were only in the rooms to sleep in the evenings so this wasn't a big deal. Pool is quite small however this is the case with many of the hotels and the atmosphere was still amazing. Staff were friendly and rooms were cleaned every day. We went and saw the Magic of Polynesia show in the hotel (which we didn't realise was actually a magic show) however it was great with so many laughs! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel is comfortable and is in a very central location, with easy access to the beach and transport. The recent renovations are great, but the lifts are slower than I would prefer. The Partial Ocean views of the balcony facing west are great value.
This hotel is in a perfect location. Steps away from great shopping, eating and Waikiki. The customer service is warm and friendly, amenities are great and the room is clean and comfy, I would highly recommend it for business or leisure, however, be warned that they do not offer any in-room dining.
This was the second time I’ve stayed here and really like it. The rooms are large and very comfortable. It’s situated in the middle of downtown Waikiki and everything is a short walk away. There’s a really nice cafe in the building (good coffee by Australian standards!!) and the Maui Brewing Co is also part of the building. Would certainly stay here again.
We are on our 34 wedding anniversary holiday, we chose this hotel due to location and other advisers. From the moment we arrived the staff were great, while we arrived early the staff looked after our bags. When we came back from a walk we were met by Micheal on the front desk who was great, very informative and extremely good at his job, thanks Micheal and for the 2 bottles of water which came in handy and were appreciated. Our room was on the 3rd floor looking down to the main road and shops, the room looked great and was well set out and modern looking since the revamp, the king size bed was very comfortable. The tinted glass on the balcony kept the glare down, you could hardly hear any noise from the street even during the spam jam street festival. I had heard you get free water each day in your room but we only received it on our first day and none of the other days during our 4 day stay so maybe I was wrong. House keeping kept our room neat and tidy, thank you. There was plenty to do and see during our 4 days with many eateries, the beach and trolley bus. We had a great time and will make his our hotel when we are back, thank you. 👍
The rooms are nice however but I wouldn't return for the following reasons: - very expensive and you have to pay a type of resort fee that gives you a lot of stuff that simply wont use -if you can find the entry to this place the valet parking is 40 a night -the service is poor there is no desire to accommodate -the pool is too small for the amount of people who stay here -loud
I booked this hotel last minute and knew nothing about it. So happy to choose this one! From the reservation process thru check out. Everything was just a pleasant experience. The hotel although not oceanfront in a great central location! The rooms were clean, crisp. I heard they had remodeled this place and they did a great job! Belldesk, front staff, housekeeping - all were so nice, very aloha! No need for a car if you’re just going to hang around waikiki. The Maui brewing company which is connected to the hotel is a great restaurant as well! There’s also a cafe in the lobby. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back!
If anyone looking for accommodation in Honolulu, you can’t beat the location of this hotel , next door to Macy’s , across the street from the famous cheesecake restaurant. This hotel has had beautiful renovations and the rooms are very colourful and clean, I booked this accommodation through a third party called Travel Up , I would never book with them again , they booked us a king room with 2 adults and my 16 year old daughter . I rang the hotel up prior to arriving because Travel Up couldn’t help me change my room to two doubles which was their mistake in the first place . The reception staff were very helpful and understood my concern , in fact they upgraded us to a sea view with the pool . I would definitely stay here again , thank you once again to the staff at Outrigger Beachcomber. Dianna
