This hotel was fantastic. Service was great, room was clean and spacious. They had a gym and pool which was great - we just wished they had a hot tub too but no big deal. We also loved that they had a bar in the lobby which came in handy on a few nights. The coffee shop that is attached to the hotel is only open on weekends so we didn’t get to go but it had good reviews. We walked into the downtown area of Harrisonburg within 10 minutes. I recommend this hotel to everyone!

Beautiful property. Next door to james madison university. Easy to get into parking garage..

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a trip to Shenandoah National Park. Although on the surface it appeared to be a nice hotel, we were not at all pleased with its cleanliness. There were saltine crackers--yes crackers--underneath the mattress pad of the bed! We found a piece of cereal next to the table in the kitchen. The knives in the drawer were dirty, and the dishwasher smelled so terribly we did not put anything in it. We complained to the front desk and they "re-cleaned" the room. In light of COVID19, the cleanliness issue are extremely concerning.

The hotel is beautiful and it felt very clean. The location to the campus is fabulous. We were able to walk to some local restaurants and the food was fabulous. We arrived a little early and one of our two rooms was ready. The front desk said they would have a room ready for us later in the day near our first one. That didn't happen. They put us on a different floor on the other side of the hotel and didn't have the amenities that were on my reservation. The hotel was not busy at all. We only saw a few people. The first person charged $15 for incidentals to my room and the second charged $25. Evidently they had coffee in the lobby in the morning, but neither person told me. It was all gone by 8:30 am. The breakfast was closed due to COVID. There was not any coffee supplies in my room, but the cleaning woman gave me some after I tracked her down. Everyone wore a mask, but the sanitizer stations were mostly empty. Parking is super convenient and the lobbies are beautiful.

Quiet rooms! Beautiful new hotel, lots of lounging room.

Very clean. Bedding super comfortable. Highly recommend!

My second visit to this property and even in the throes of a pandemic, when all the rules have changed, I was just as impressed - maybe even more so. Impeccably clean, comfortable, convenient, and extremely accommodating.

Very, very accommodating for Handicap access, the best we have ever stayed. Confortable bed and very pleasent staff. I will stay again!

The place is beautiful and very clean. The service was outstanding.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff! We will stay again if we are ever back in Harrisonburg!

This hotel is so nice!! It was really clean and smelled fresh and not like disinfectant. I would stay here every time. The only thing I would change is the bed was a bit hard, but the room was great!

Very new and modern - lacked unique "touches", though. Bed was comfortable except for the pillows.

No thank you. If you want good info don’t piss me off making me say crap

Positives: New and modern. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable with plenty of good quality pillows, Hotel convenient to JMU and RMH. Front desk responds to requests quickly. Negatives: Paying to park for a hotel in Harrisonburg is simply ridiculous and should be something mentioned upon booking as an additional cost. Hotel failed to invest in quality in-room amenities such as refrigerator and hair dryer; both barely functioned for their purpose - I even had the fridge changed out thinking the first was broken. Maintenance told me the fridges were new and just didn't get that cold (WHAT????). So, if you have insulin or other meds that need to be kept cold, don't count on the fridges here. The restaurant is closed on Mon, also something worth mentioning at booking. You'll either have to drive or pay for a restaurant delivery from DoorDash or the like. Finally, hallway noise carries into rooms with ease.

We appreciate that you chose Hotel Madison for your accommodations and the feedback about your stay. Without details such as your name and date of stay, it's difficult to respond to certain specifics here, such as the incidentals charged which likely included parking ($5/night). We had very high occupancy recently for several days which may have resulted in your second room being ready after your first (check-in is at 4:00). Yes, with the COVID situation, our breakfast in Montpelier is not currently available though we have weekend hours in our grace+main coffee shop. We've noted your comment about lobby coffee availability and we apologize that your Keurig in your room was not properly stocked — that should have been done prior to your arrival. We're glad you found our premises to be beautiful and convenient and hope that you do return soon, hopefully for a smoother visit. Please let us know anytime we can assist you during your stay.
