Totally underconstruction a mess could not find entrance they were in middle of changing names of hotel

As soon as we walked in to our room, we smelled heavey smoking - unbreathable ! Terrible Smell. Staff were not able to accommodate and please us with a better room. Also, the sofa beds are NOT comfortable at all. The sheets were dirty, The towels were dirty. The staff of the Hotel are NOT friendly at all. They are rude and like to give attitude. This is NOT how hospitality works. POOR Management.

The location of the hotel was great. I needed to be that close to JMU to spend as much time as possible with my child. Front desk staff were very accommodating and pleasant during check in. I definitely plan on staying here my next trip to Harrisburg, VS

Quality place. Used to be a Hilton. Know it's next to the Comfort Inn and you'll find it.

Older hotel that in being remodeled. No name on hotel to locate it easily. Once arrived and checked in, hotel room was not what was booked. This was corrected with ease. Room was missing several towel sets for the amount of guest in room. Stay was nice otherwise

Easy in-and-out. Very comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff.

Hotel was clean, rooms spacious and the staff was friendly.

Hall floor filthy. Bed is uncomfortable. Smelt moldy in room. View was indoor pool that keeps lights on all night. Bathroom floor dirty. Breakfast buffet above average compared to other hotels.

Stopped her because it was the half way point to our destination and it was late. It was below freezing outside and when we checked in the girl at the desk was stocking cups and said that she would be back with me in a few minutes. We get checked in, into the room and fall asleep. About 30 minutes later an alarm goes off saying there is a fire on our floor to evacuate immediately. So I grab clothes, wife and 4 year old and rush out the exit door into 20 degree weather. It was a false alarm. After 30 minutes they were able to reset it and turn it off. A four year old doesn't get it. He didn't want to go back in the room but it's one in the morning. Terrible experience.

The hotel was hard to get to. Hidden entrance at busy intersection made it difficult to get in and out.the hotel itself was very old and out dated. Desperately needs to be renovated. Room was nasty with terrible stench. Lucky if I slept for 2 hours. Do not stay here to many other better choices near by.

It was a great hotel. Very nice soft beds and a great indoor pool! The kids had a blast.

Very clean hotel. Very close to JMU campus. Would stay there again.

We were very pleased with hotel. Very clean and good location for us. Staff was very nice and helpful. But as usual price was very expensive because of JMU parents weekend. would stay there again.

This was a convenient destination to stay overnight prior to visiting JMU. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel furniture was updated, but the television needs to be updated and the ceiling as well. It was average.

We visited Harrisonburg to spend some time with family. While there, we decided to stay at a place with a pool for the kids and a hot tub for the wife and me. When searching, we came upon the Holiday Inn in the 'Burg. The photos were impressive, the price was right, and with the long time rep of the Holiday Inn, we couldn't go wrong. That's what I 'thought'. Check-in was average, by a young person who really didn't like her job or shift. When asked how to get to our room, I think I was asking too much. The elevator was noisy and stinky. The ice machine on our floor was broken. Our room was nice looking, but needed some updating. The heater/air conditioner was the in the room and was soooo noisy. It came on every 15 minutes, and was especially noticeable through the evening when sleeping. The bathroom could use a fan, as when we took showers it steamed up the whole room. The beds were the smallest I've ever experienced in a hotel. Usually when getting a room with double beds they would be queens, our's were fulls. The pool area was very dark, to the point that we felt it was unsafe. If your child was at one end, and you were at another, you could see them very well. It was warm and didn't smell well either. In the photos, you see a smaller 'pool' that you would assume is a hot-tub. It turned out to be a 'kiddie-pool'. Very disappointing. Half of the room was divided with poor amenities. It was not very pleasurable. OK, now the worse part of the trip... During the first evening we slept, at around 3AM, we experienced someone kicking our door and trying to get in. He continued kicking and slamming the door until I got up and told him he had the wrong door (thinking he was drunk or high and thinking we were his room). He did go away, but we all were a bit shaken up and the children were scared. We called down to the desk to report this, and they said they would look into it. The next day, we followed up and they said they didn't find anyone. The staff didn't seem concerned that this happened, and was not very apologetic to us. I know it probably wasn't their fault or doing of this gentleman, but you would think they would make sure we were OK. You choose a hotel for good rest and pleasure. This Holiday Inn feel short of this for our two day stay. It is certain the we will not choose them to stay again.

It was fine. Check-in was easy and quick, the rooms were nice enough. It was a pleasant stay.

The hotel's location was convenient. I never really saw the staff, so I can't comment on how they were. The downside is that because the hotel is so old, there's a lot of grime and stale cigarette smoke smell that no amount of dedicated cleaning (or pretty redecorating) can get out. The ancient AC and shower didn't quite function right. Every part of the building shows its age. Overall, it was nice enough for the price, but I'd warn anyone with allergies to stay away.

Stayed in the executive suite. It was incredibly comfortable and clean. No complaints whatsoever! Used the pool quite a bit and that too was clean and a very comfortable temperature. The front desk attendants were super nice and helpful. They directed us to an AWESOME restaurant in the area (union square) and even warmed up our favorite oatmeal for us in their microwave! :)

Great place to stay if you want to stay at an inexpensive place near Massanutten Resorts!
