Le Montbrillant Hôtel Residence

Got the last room, while rest of Geneva sold out!

I booked this room more than a month ago, because Geneva was sold out due to some major conference in the city. I am used to staying in 5* hotels around the world, however such hotels were at a $1000+ at the time. This hotel had 1 room left, a single, their lowest category and thank God I booked it, because prices only went up and availability down thereafter. The service at the hotel was decent, food acceptable and room acceptable, in fact much more comfortable than I might have imagined. It was small and had a single bed, the room was a third the size of what I am used to staying in other major business cities, and only obviously only good for one person. The bed and bedding however was as good or even better, more comfortable than any I have stayed in, so I got good sleep. Room temperature was also comfortable and curtains blocked out the light. I was on the second floor and heard no external sounds. The room had a functional desk and internet was fast enough. The location of the hotel is excellent, lots of shops, cafes and fast food around, plus right next to the main train station. On average a 10-20 minute walk to anywhere in Geneva my business/social needs took me. The photos on their website give an accurate impression. Under similar circumstances or if I wanted to be on low budget (this time I paid more than double the normal rate, but otherwise its very reasonable), I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location Spacious No Frills room

Large clean room Bathroom nice size Only soap is provided No air conditioning They supply a fan but on a large busy street so with the windows open to get fresh air it is quite noisy until 1:30 AM Helpful staff

The Ambassador

Surprisingly great hotel for the price.

Just be sure to clarify whether or not your reservation includes breakfast. I thoughts ours did, only to discover that we were shelling out 50 swiss francs for a really lovely but not terribly unique breakfast. Starbucks across the street would have been fine. Very clean, quiet and charming hotel that is well located in Geneva for everything from the central train station, airport and old city. No complaints, really!

Hotel Rotary Geneva MGallery by Sofitel

Bang for the buck

I stayed there for the first time about 6 years ago and this year I stayed there for the second time. They have upgraded the rooms to a four star level. Neat and clean, cozy and comfortable with ample space for a European hotel.
