The Connacht Hotel

Hotel was masquerading as hip and remodeled, but behind the curtain it was very outdated. Not a great location, with nothing within walking distance, and was difficult to get in and out of on the busy Old Dublin road. Room was extremely warm with no air conditioning. Clean in the most important places but worn. Bathroom fixtures had mold and chipping. Hallway floors creaked as an annoyance as guests walked down the hall. I would not stay here again. Food – Continental breakfast was pricier than I’d like, but decent. I would have appreciated more vegetarian options. But, options for a meat eater looked above average. Staff was attentive and food was fresh. Attached restaurant for lunch was awkwardly laid out and understaffed, but food was just alright.

Just returned back from Galway from a 4 day break with 44 friends and we stayed at the Connacht Hotel. This hotel and the service is FANTASTIC. The hotel staff were without exception 'fantastic'. Nothing was too much trouble and the service we had from booking, arriving and during our stay was excellent. Nice clean rooms and of a great standard. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, but felt they could have provided small pots of yoghurt, my only negative feedback. Overall the feedback is Excellent. We will return.

We were party of 10 staying at the hotel, the rooms were clean and comfortable. When we went down for dinner on our first evening a women manager was assigned to our group. We do not know why but she was not pleased and we received the worst service I have ever experienced. We had to search her out if we needed anything and one of our party had to ask for our bills and assist her. There was no excuse for her behavior other than sheer rudeness.

I went to Galway in march around st patrick's day and stayed in the Connacht Hotel for 4 nights. I was with 2 other friends and we stayed in one room. The room was big and very clean. The mattress was very nice to sleep on, something I'm always scared of because my back is very sensitive. The fact that you can use the pool and fitness for free is a nice extra. My friends and I went swimming and it was very relaxing. We didn't add breakfast to our booking but when we arrived the price was pretty low so we decided to add it to our stay. I must say the breakfast was amazing! You could choose between a lot of things and could take as much as you wanted. The food was delicious and it was a very nice place to eat. except for all of that the hotel is not only good with the entertainment but also if you have an accident they take really good care of you! I wrecked my ankle and they treated it and they lent me crutchet and they didn't even charge me something for that. Every time they saw me they asked me how I was and if it was better. The hotel service is special, I never met a staff who are so frendley and caring then in this hotel. If I come to Galway again I wil stay there again. I had a lovely time and it felt like home.

Visited the Connacht hotel last week for the second time in 3 months Very friendly staff Amazing rooms so clean and fit all your needs Front desk are so helpful We have been twice and will return soon Breakfast in the morning was amazing Highly recommend to any one

Clean comfortable room, and dinner was9 ok (if ambience isn't important), breakfast however was an epic disaster. So would say stay at hotel, avoid the restaurants. Lots of locals nearby where you can have the ambiance good food and drinks

Love this hotel, I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and everytime I have enjoyed it. It's well located, not right in the city but not too far away either. It's a 5 minute taxi journey to the city centre. No doubt I'll be back again in the future😊

From the moment we arrived we felt this would be a great place to stay. The front desk staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more pleasant. We met two house keeping staff and one leasure centre staff on our way to the room and they too were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. The room was large and well equipped and more importantly it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and they wasn't so much as a banging door at night which has so often disturbed nights away in other hotels. Dinner was lovely but again the staff really made it special. Breakfast was busy but there was a constant supply of buffet foods all of which were fresh and great quality. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for any type of visitor, not only for the Value and staff but also the location within a very busy city. Well done the Connacht Hotel

All in all this is a nice hotel.Good nightlife and food. Now to the bad points. Firstly when we arrived and went to pull put couch for my son to use there was no bedding. When bedding did arrive the duvet cover was old and ripped. Went to order room service and was told as our card was not on their system we could not order and that they didn't take cash. My partner had to go down to reception and order pizza and then wait for it to be cooked. We had an apartment and on the second night we had run out of towels and when we rang reception we were told our apartment was a no service apartment cause we were only staying 3 days. Housekeeping left towels on table in hall while we were out that night but never took the dirty towels away so had to ring reception again. Had to empty rubbish ourselves. Now onto the biggest problem I had. Checkout is at 11. At 9.30 there was 1 knock on door and then housekeeping were letting themselves in. Not happy about this as I had 2 children with me and to have a stranger walk in on top of them was not alright. For these reasons I will not be staying there again or recommending it.

Good family hotel, lively bar with ok music. Great leisure facility. Well located less than a mile from the city centre. Friendly staff and decent price. I would recommend the family suites if you have 2 or more kids as they are much bigger than the family rooms with separate sitting room etc where you can leave the kids to watch tv and have a few drinks downstairs.
