Nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was fine, quiet, comfy bed, nice bathroom (though toilet didn't flush very well). I really liked the fact that we could open the window slightly to let in some fresh air. We did not take breakfast and I was happy we decided not to as the queues were just incredible every morning for breakfast. Also, was not so keen on the dining area, there are no windows and it is right by the bar. We did have dinner there one night and it was nice, prices are very reasonable. The hotel was very busy, lots of families with children. Location is very good for Galway city, nice easy walk.

This hotel is super, rooms spotless, food super, staff friendly, gym & pool Great, I will return to this hotel again be for the end of the year, stayed 3 nights and was gutted leaving it, my 7 year old loved the kids club and it give me a wee break to enjoy the restaurant & a few drinks, recommend to anyone

Just back from a 2 night stay at the Connacht. At the outset it’s worth pointing out that this is an absolutely huge hotel that is extremely busy. At times the place felt like an airport terminal rather than a hotel given the volume of people on site. So if you’re after a quiet break, this may not be the hotel for you. The place has the feel of a property that has outgrown the facilities the bar and foyer area can provide. Huge queues of up to 20 minutes for breakfast are treated as the norm. Would it not be worth using one of the function rooms close to the dining areas for especially busy weekends rather than having large queues forming in the morning when people are hungry (and grumpy)? The swimming pool is excellent although the ladies changing area was very cold. We also found it difficult to get a constant flow of hot water in our room, which even though was billed as a superior family room we found to be quite small. We also had to wait for over an hour to check in to our room, even though it was 4:30 before we arrived. The staff are superb and very friendly, with the food being average hotel fare. The Hotel has the potential to be a terrific place, but is let down by small things

Stayed here Easter weekend with family and unfortunately I could not recommend this hotel pricy for what it is, it was over sold so then staff were going around like headless chickens breakfast can only be described as a cattle mart and as for some of there guests

This might be a matter of taste. But we would most probably not visit The Connact again. The room itself was okay but nothing special. Breakfast was not as good as on the 3 other hotels we stayed at in Ireland. As other reviewers has stated, the Connact has a bit of a strange atmosphere without much charm. A rather typical 70's place.

Large active hotel with great welcome, good gym, pool and responsive restaurant crew. Comfortable quiet room with ample parking. Happy to return again in future. Great for visiting the city of tribes and touring the Wild Atlantic Way. Thoroughly recommend the Burren, Connemara and Clew Bay.

Just back from a lovely stay. A big thank you to the all the staff very friendly ,thanks to Dean for.the lovely cocktails and also to rory and all the bar staff. A huge thank you to the kids club staff our kids loved it so much they were crying leaving they kept talking about Regina and Ciaran how friendly and kind ye all were. The pool staff were also very nice and dealt with any situation very professional. We will definitely be back. The breakfast and dinners we could not find one fault in any of it.thank you for everything

Firstly i would like to say from the very minute we checked in to the minute we checked out we had such a good time. Every member of staff we met were so kind and helpful. The kids club we would highly recommend they do so much with the kids. A big thanks to regina and Kieran and all the kids club staff ye were brillant. Our kids were crying leaving ye and ye were so thoughtful giving them an easter egg going home. We will definetly be back. Thanks again. 😊

Unfortunately this did not please. As reviewed before with 5*. We returned this time to very disappointing service, food & overall experience. Firstly, the 2 young girls waitressing were holding the bar & bar food experience together. There was more staff in suits walking around looking important & NOT HELPING OUT AT ALL... When we walked in we found it difficult to choose a table as they were all uncleared dirty tables from the previous customers & we waited 10 mins or more on table to be cleared for us. We had 2 very young children with us so tgis did not help when my husband had to clear a table for us to sit at & get high chairs. Waited for someone to clean table- then I decided to approach a lady wearing a suit & asked for some services lady did clear the table & was very nice took the kids order & was delivered well. We waited on table service another 10-15 mins, Young girl took or order she was literally thee only 1 who was attending a busy bar with food paying customers. She was run off her feet. Other guests were left waiting longer than us. Our food was fine, nothing special when it arrived, burger & chips was cold & had to be reheated. Waited long enough on the black.ad the young girl was flat out on her feet, taking drinks orders, food bill orders. There was staff about but those women in suits & men attend were doing feck all... Them 2 girls were run of their feet trying to be nice to make up for what others were neglecting. We paid for our food & left a tip for the young girl but not no reason to return aftwr this disappointing experience. Hope this improves during busy holiday periods.
