Elegant family hotel in Galway. If you happen to be accommodated on the D-wing, expect to be in a maze to find your way into your assigned room, but it sure is fun especially after you've had 5 or 6 beers. Had one of my best nights here when we toured Ireland.

I have been few times in this hotel and spend here more than 10 weeks during few trips due to business reasons. Staff was always nice and helpful, did not encountered any problems. Rooms are spacious and generally neat, if you happen not to look under furniture or behind toilet. Also air filters are really dusty. One more thing that I found concerning or at least strange was a fact, that in room toilet there was never a toilet brush. That was actually gross, because you had two options to choose - clean with toiler paper and hands, or leave it until room refreshments. Despite that in the price you have access to 24h, well equiped gym, which is actually a separate company in the same building. There is also a swimming pool with sauna opened 6 AM - 10 PM. I used sport facilities every day and cannot say a bad word about it. I never used catering service, so no idea about quality. There is also a bar in the hotel, which gets often pretty busy. And there is a laundry room as well. In general I would not like to try different place in this location, even though it is not perfect.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weekend stay at The Connacht and I felt like I had to email someone to compliment how amazing your hotel is. We're a young couple and we were expecting not to be treated the same as older couples as we know that some hotels would be sceptical about younger couples, but this was not the case at all. From the moment we walked into the hotel we were treated so so well and we were made feel so comfortable from the get go. We were checked in by Christine, who informed us we had recieved a complimentary upgrade, due to the fact it was my boyfriends birthday and this made the trip even better. It was so lovely to see that a hotel were so generous and kind to do this. Our room was absolutely amazing, we found it very warm the first night but this was due to the fact we didnt turn off the radiator on arrivial or open a window, so it was no fault of the hotel. We ate in Reubens on Friday night and the staff were amazing. We were seated by an older lady (she had her hair in a pony tail, it was dark brown and she wore glasses, we unfortunately didnt catch her name) and she was constantly making sure everything was ok, which was so nice. We had the chicken wings for starters, which by accident we recieved the main sized portion of but we were quickly informed that this was a mistake by the kitchen and that we would be charged for only a started sized portion and then we had fish and chips, Both were so amazing and we couldnt stop talking about the food throughout the weekend. We sat in Zero One for a few drinks both nights and the live music was amazing. We were served each time by Rory who was very friendly and very fast. Breakfast both mornings was amazing and staff were very quick to come over and offer tea/coffee which was so nice. We had an absolutely amazing time at The Connacht, from the hotel staff to the food to the bar, it was such a lovely place to stay with such a nice atmosphere. Everything was so reasonable priced also. You definitely got your value for money in The Connacht hotel. The hotel is a five minute taxi drive from Eyre Square. There is a bus facility but due to the weather we did not use it. We will definitely be back to The Connacht in the very near future.

Stayed 2 nights over the weekend. Overall this is a very nice hotel. The superior rooms are lovely with the double/single bunk for kids a great idea. It’s a bit strange that you have to get a porter to open the door to the balcony and call him again if you want to lock it. A key chained to the door would work but I’m sure there is a good reason for the process. Location is good with a good bus service to town. Air quality is good, comfortable and not too hot even in the bar when its busy with food being served. This is something that sadly lots of places don't pay attention to but this hotel got it right. Leisure center is nice. We arrived at 2pm and were told that the room would not be ready until 3:30. This was fine as this is the check-in time. We decided to wait and use the leisure center after check-in. However the room was not ready until 4 which messed up our afternoon. The reason given was that the hotel was busy. Large (rubgy) groups seemed to have been prioritized but that’s just our observation. At breakfast after giving our room number we were asked had we paid for breakfast. We told the man that we were on a B+B rate. He then asked us for a voucher. We were not given one. Instead of showing us to a table and checking it afterwards we were made stand there at the top of a large queue while he called reception to check were we indeed telling the truth. Very embarrassing. He mentioned something about codes being changed! The nice lady at reception apologized when we raised the issue to ensure it did not happen on the second morning and gave us a voucher to avoid another episode. Maybe giving a voucher to everyone on a B+B rate would be a better process. Over all this is a nice hotel and would be willing to stay here again.

Just back from two nights stay with a large group. Fabulous hotel, excellent value. Friendly, professional staff, lovely reasonably priced bar food.Location is ideal for shopping/exploring. Will definitely be back!

Stayed in this hotel for the weekend, good location, clean on arrival very nice leisure facilities and staff was nice, however from the 3 days I stayed here I received no housekeeping service.... not even fresh towels room was never on dnd and I place the cleaning card twice but nothing.... very disappointed with that. Everything else was ok

A group of around 30 of us stayed here for the weekend. Arrived Friday evening and 23 of us checked in without any delays at all. Our rooms were lovely. The staff very friendly and we ate in the hotel bar both evenings. The food and drink very reasonably priced. There is a bus just down the road from the hotel which goes into Galway city every 15 minutes. Lovely pool and gym. Very big hotel but really a fab hotel for couples and families.

Only stayed one night, but was very nice and I would go back. Food in the restaurant was very nice, and I had two of the best pints of Guinness there! Hotel room was very nice, and the breakfast the next morning was good also.

I am sorry it took me long to leave this review as we had such a lovely time in this hotel for my sisters Graduation in november. A couple members of my family stayed including my sister and her young daughters. They thoroughly enjoyed the poor facilities. My grandmother stayed too and we all enjoyed relaxing in the lovely foyer area between activities. We booked lunch in the restaurant and the staff could not have been more attentive and we were made feel very special with the complimentary glass of bubbles. The food was served promptly and was very tasty. They were doing a bit of construction during our stay but the disruption was minimal. Thanks so much to the staff for the lovely stay and to the receptionista for helping with my queries. I would definitley stay again.

Breakfast was very disappointing, food was very greasy. The eggs looked particularly displeasing. Ate at 10am and all fruit almost gone. Room was basic. Gym and pool amenities were very good. A short taxi ride from city centre.
