I booked my final night in Galway at the Eyre Square Townhouse to be close to the bus station as I had to be there at 6am. I arrived about 11:30 expecting to store my bags until 4pm check-in but was pleasantly surprised that I was allowed to check in after waiting only 10 minutes. The man who works at the office also kindly offered to carry my heavier bag up two flights of stairs (there is no lift). I had a very small but immaculately clean room with all mod cons, comfortable sitting chair, luggage rack, hangers & clothing rack, hair dryer, tea/coffee and kettle and a very lovely bathroom with great shower. The floor is tile which some may not find cozy but it fits the modern vibe and is easy to keep clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was noticeable noise to be heard from outside as the hotel is located on a popular walking route between pubs and Eyre Square but it did not bother me. Light sleepers may find that troublesome. All in all, if you want a very clean & comfortable centrally located place to stay in Galway at a very reasonable price try out the Eyre Square Townhouse. I left to early to try the cafe located beneath them but their offerings looked delicious.
I stayed here for 3 nights and it was very nice. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, nice staff and its in the middle of everything in Galway. Would definitely come here again. You get a free breakfast once at the cafe next door, which is nice.
Extremely helpful and friendly receptionist Mary went out of her way to accommodate our requests. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. We had a good breakfast the next day in the adjoining Cafe.
This is perfect for anyone looking for a central location, walking distance from the main sqaure and shopping streets aswell as restaurant and public transport. Mohan on reception is very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are bright, clean and well equipt. Downstairs there is a cafe where you can get a delicious full irish breakfast to set you up for the day again the staff were very welcoming Would definitely stay again.
The man on the reception desk was really helpful in telling us the best place to park nearby and answering various other questions we had for him. The rooms were very clean and finished to a very high standard and the one we had was a very beautiful room. The shower was amazing in the big bathroom. For the price I don't think I could get a better choice than this.
Come to Galway every year always say in a different hotel. On this occasion got it wrong. This "Hotel" is one step up from a hostal. Unusual for Galway it lacks any kind of if Irish charm. It's basically a house with bedrooms for rent. Paper thin walls. No recereception small basic rooms. Price was exceptional high even given it was new year and in order to gain a slight discount we had to agree to a no cancellation charge when.. we booked back in September. This became a problem when one of our party had to cancel back in November. No rebate or offer to reimburse if they sold the room again.bottom line with any stay is would you stay again ... never !
The location was phenomenal, short walks to all amenities and sites, making it the perfect spot for public transportation travelers. For a short visit, I did not mind that the amenities were less than average, but if I were staying longer than one night, you may find better value elsewhere.
This is NOT a hotel more like a house divided into rooms. The guy on reception is rude and has a couldn't care less attitude plus he eats his dinner at his desk. This "hotel" has no parking nor does it offer a discounted rate at the nearby Corrib shopping centre. You can park the car here and it's €20 for overnight parking. The wifi didn't work in our room. There are NO fire extinguishers. There is no fire escape. There is no fire plan. The shower did not have a non slip mat. The heating did work. The windows did not seal shut could hear every noise outside and when a gust of wind blew so did the curtains. The room was not cleaned nor were the cups cleaned, the coffee or milk was not replaced and we had to ask for teaspoons. The walls are extremely thin you can hear everything. This property is not suitable for people with walking disabilities as the stairs are steep and narrow. The hotel shows pictures of a living room/guest lounge but it doesn't exist. Breakfast is an extra €7.50 pp.steep when you consider how much it is to stay here. On the plus side the location is excellent as it's in the heart of the city.
Perfect location for walking around Galway. Comfortable accommodation, great food at the restaurant next door. We travelled from Shannon airport so hired a car. Car parking not too expensive and within easy walking distance from hotel.
My husband and I stayed in the townhouse for 4 nights. We found it online and paid about 500 euros for the stay. We were in room 7 facing the back ( so no road noise) for most of our stay. In front there would definitely be some road noise. It’s a small room with a comfy double bed and a side table with a kettle and tea and coffee provided. There’s hangers for hanging up a few things on a shelf. There were no dressers etc but that didn’t bother us. We were next to Eyre square and the shops. Literally less than one minute walk Breakfast at revive cafe was included and that is next door. The food and service is incredible. There was a mix up with the room and we had to wait a half hour but the owner sent us to the cafe for a free latte to wait so all good! This is a townhouse with a generally unmanned reception. The walls are not thick ( think bedrooms in a townhouse) but each room has its own bathroom and ours was laid out as described above. Water pressure was great. There was a little mold in the bathroom but I defy you to not find that some of that anywhere in Galway. It’s generally a very rainy climate. Be prepared that the rooms aren’t cleaned daily. It appears only clean towels were dropped off but no vacuuming or bed making etc during our stay. As well no face clothes provided. These things did not bother us as the room was spotless when we arrived and we didn’t spend allot of time inside ! Would stay again. Great location!
