My friends and I had a booking at the Western Hotel in Galway and when we arrived found out that we had been upgraded to a 2 BR serviced apartment nearby. The apartment was modern and clean and it was nice to have 2 bathrooms and a washer/dryer (although directions for that weren't super clear). Apartment was well located and only 5 min walk to Shop St. Enjoyed it.

The apartment we rented was modern, well lit with amazing views of the city. The kitchen and bathrooms were also clean and modern and the location of the apartment was walking distance to the center of town. However the beds were very uncomfortable and the light colored carpets were badly stained which grossed us out a bit. That said, everything else was very clean and the staff were very professional and polite.

Perfect location. Very safe and secure and underground parking included. The apartment was lovely, very spacious and had a gorgeous view over the city, with a nice balcony space too. Ideal location right in the city centre. Only slight negative was that the double bed was two single's pushed together. Not a big deal but I prefer a proper double. You check in in the Western hotel which is just around the corner. Staff there were SUPER friendly and gave great recommendations for some specific stuff we were looking for. We were only there for a weekend so didn't spend much time in the apartment but it would also be nice to relax in for a while. Lots of space and everything you need to cook etc. Very happy with the stay.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment through hotels.com and are happy with what we received but with a few additions this accommodation could be improved a great deal. The location is very central, although it was confusing on arrival as we needed to go to The Western Hotel first to collect the apartment keys. The closest parking we found was two streets away! Then back to the car to drive around a large block of one-way streets to end up at the apartment building, a stone's throw away from The Western. Below is a detailed assessment of the positives and negatives. It might seem like we're nit-picking, but some of these issues could be a deal-breaker for others considering this accommodation. Positives: - Has a washer/dryer - the whole reason we booked this accommodation - Spacious lounge and kitchen area - Two bathrooms, two bedrooms - Garden area on level four with seating. - Parking available in the building - Quiet building Negatives: - The bed in the main bedroom was narrow, lumpy and very uncomfortable. Imagine an old mattress at your grandmother's house, collapsed in the middle and creaking whenever you move. On the second night of our stay my husband moved into the second bedroom to sleep. - A crib was provided for our baby however the base of the cot was as hard as wood with an uneven surface. Thankfully we were travelling with a portable bassinet which we could use. - All the doors are heavy and stick in the doorframe so opening & closing them is loud. In previous travels this wouldn't have been an issue, but on this trip we were trying not to disturb our sleeping baby. - We didn't want to use the tumble dryer function in the washing machine however there was no clothes airer for air drying our clothes. - There is very little hanging space and very little bench space in the bathrooms and no shelf inside the shower. Also no bathtub. - No tea towels! There was a dish rack and dishwasher. Also no cooking basics, eg. oil - There was no undercover access to our apartment (#16) from the lift and it rained pretty heavily during our stay. - To get to our apartment on level 4 we walked past several other apartments where the bedroom windows opened out directly onto the pathway. I wouldn't have liked the lack of privacy if I was in one of those apartments. - Bizarrely we couldn’t find an address for the apartment building - they give you a map to the car park on check in, but no address. The car park is on Bothar Irwin (use Chez Augustin - a fabulous French café - for the location in your car's GPS if you are coming and going), the main pedestrian entrance is on Bothar Na mBan, but we couldn't find a street number (nor could we pronounce that street name!). It made it difficult to order home delivery for dinner, but my real concern is how you would explain your location to get an ambulance in an emergency (with a career in risk management and a four month old baby, I think of these things). We called The Western to ask them for the address and it went to voicemail (four times!). We left a message and asked them to call us back with the address. They never returned the call. All in all, we would stay here again, but only after I had looked at the other apartment options in Galway.

We stayed in these apt for a hens weekend. Apt was very spacious. Room 1 has a double bed with en suite, Room 2 has two singles. Main bathroom. Kitchen & seating area & a large balcony. Pros: The location, honestly you couldn't get any better, less than a minutes walk to Eyre Square. Very spacious. Decent views from both from & back of apts Cons: The double bed was very uncomfortable, felt like there was a thin piece of fabric separating the spring & my body. Also apt needs to have a full length sweeping brush, our backs were breaking using the dust pan & brush, A hoover would be ideal (hint hint) For the price of the rental of the apt for two nights, it would be really nice if the owners bought table & chairs for the balconies. Such a waste of space, would have been really nice to have sitted out and enjoy it.

We have been staying here for the past five days and found the accommodation very comfortable. Two couples in separate bedrooms, one ensuite and another large bathroom with large shower cubicles. Kitchen was well equipped. We are in apartment 7 on floor 4 which has large corner windows overlooking eyre square and Galway bay. We ate at the western hotel on one evening and took advantage of the three course house menu at €21.95 (before 7.30 pm) and the meal was very good. Check in at the western hotel, park in the underground car park on st Bridget's street, and then drove round, and round, and round and eventually found the car park for the apartments! Would stay here again if we ever come back to Galway.

After reading reviews of this property, we were a little worried what we would find. However, the apartment was fine. Positives include central location, modern and light and bright. Negatives - definitely need far better instructions to find the car park! Some bath gel would have been good and DEFINITELY larger bath towels. The ones we had were the size of hand towels. Overall this apartment was good for a few days stay in Galway.

I stayed here with two of my friends and if your looking for a place where you can be left to your own devices then these apartments are perfect. Very spacious and the view was fantastic. Have read other reviews about some stuff being outdated but our apartment was very modern. Only difficult part was finding the car park but you can also park at the hotel and the apartments are literally around the corner. Will be staying here again

Spent 3 days here, v well apointed and centrally situated, parking was an issue as the instructions to locate the entrance in the underground car park via the 1way system where not clear, apartment was spotlessly clean, v comfortable beds, good showers, full kitchen. Some areas were showing wear and tear with a few chips out of furniture but overall we were v impressed and would revisit.

We had booked 2 rooms in the hotel but on arrival were offered the penthouse next door. The view was magnificent and the 3 bedroom apartment very spacious. However, so many things were missing, like coathangers, teatowels etc...There were crumbs in the kitchen drawers, a coat of dust in the large bedroom, an ensuite toilet not flushing properly. The worse part was the very hard beds, the mattresses were on a wooden board (like in the 80's) instead of slats. Some people like a hard bed but it is not to everybody's taste. Also the TV channels choice extremely poor. The best part of it was the location without any doubt. These apartments need a bit of TLC and considering the prices at Easter should be in perfect condition. The staff at reception and bar was extremely friendly.
