Yes, the apartment is beautiful and large. HOWEVER, the communication with the host and his manager was truly baffling. Check in took over 30 minutes of phone calls with a woman who only spoke German and was apparently the mother of the manager. Lucky that I speak German! But the real issue came later: the lack of advertised AC. I am a mom traveling alone with a child with ASD and having AC is absolutely crucial! Once a big heatwave hit Germany, it took 23 hours for the host (or manager) to reply to my message asking how to turn the AC on. I was told that it "turns out" there isn't AC on the property. I immediately called VRBO, who tried to contact the host but wasn't able to reach anyone (except German-only speaking mother), so they advised us to check out of the property immediately. A nightmare of frantic packing, moving out, and searching for other last minute accommodations over a period of two days (with two very stressed and overheated children) followed. Through all this, the host showed little remorse, first trying to argue that the AC was untraditional (roller shades and wood floors that can be temperature adjusted) and then changed his story to never having meant to list AC as an amenity and that it was a technical error. The ONLY reason VRBO is going to force a refund for the unused portion of my stay is because I took a screen shot of the amenities before the host deleted "air conditioning". Host offered no discount or compensation for massive disruption caused.
