We stayed here at two separate times in Oct. We couldn't have asked for better help, consideration, politeness from the whole staff we met at this hotel. Any time of day each person was super! Speed of check in was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lounge area was nice enough although you can tell it's been used quite a bit. Breakfast was plentiful. Everyone made us feel like they cared about our comfort.

Yet again I find that my room is fine and as expected for the price but the restaurant is made to look good but disappoints . Check in I wasn’t offered my points or drink which is part of IHG membership . Dinner £29, £3 service charge when dining solo is ridiculous . The man at the next table asked for draught guiness but was told they didn’t sell it by a waitress with poor English . He then walked to the bar and fetched himself a pint of said guiness. Rib eye steak was tough and ten frozen chips and one tiny mushroom was insulting. . Will stay again but will eat elsewhere .

After being terribly messed around and treated like dirt from, the managers here really helped me and were ever so kind when I need to change hotel over issues didn’t inform me of! They were very welcoming and warm and wonderfully polite in every aspect! If I ever take a trip to Edinburgh again I’m sure I’ll stay here!

Stayed in a room which stank of cigarettes and bleach. I left the windows open in the day to try and clear the smell but the cleaner closed the windows so it was still as bad. Having said that I slept like a log so that was good. The room was not very clean - I could see thick dust and cobwebs begins the wardrobe, carpets were grubby and the bathroom had mould in it. Overall really poor quality.

This is an outstanding hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The facilities are good. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere especially around the Starbucks located in the lounge area. The breakfast is really good with an amazing selection serving up to 11am. The welcome by Ben was warm and professional. The bar area is relaxing with reasonable pricing. Access from the Airport is simple by the 100 bus shuttle that stops outside the hotel. Also plenty of local buses to get into the City running every couple of minutes. This is an outstanding hotel which is strongly recommended and the staff should be praised highly.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years including in its old post house brand. It’s in a good location being only a short bus ride or taxi from the city centre. There is a bus stop and a taxi rank right outside the hotel and the buses run on a frequent schedule. Room was large and bed very comfortable. The shower over the bath was a too low for my tall husband could do with the bathrooms being up dated to showers only. Room was a little tired round the edges and could do with some tlc but it was very clean. We had room service and ate breakfast, while the food was nice, it was a little on the tepid side rather than hot. Room service would have maybe saved some heat if the food had been covered. The staff were all brilliant from the polite waiting staff and to the front desk staff. Both myself and my husband remarked on how we’ve never met such a nice happy and helpful group of staff that are a credit to the hotel. Free parking is a major bonus and with all the above (minor niggle with the food included) we will be returning again and again.

I travel a lot, and stay in many hotels, but I rarely come across a hotel with staff so keen to please their customers as Holiday Inn, Edinburgh. I stayed here 3 days, attending a conference, and from the moment I entered the hotel, it became clear that the staff care about their customers and take pride in providing a good service. The restaurant staff were particularly impressive. I breakfasted in the hotel, had dinner 2 evenings, and the food was very good on each occasion, with plenty of choice, whether you want veggie only, or a big hunk of meat. In some ways the old "Post House Hotel" is in need of a makeover, and my bathroom could certainly use a refit, but I have no complaints about cleanliness. Very happy with my stay.

I stayed for a weekend whilst I was working in Edinburgh. Very busy hotel had a lot of tourism from Hong Kong while I was there so breakfast time was like being at the zoo next door ! I did eat in the restaurant at the evening and I wasn't that impressed to be honest! I have stayed in better Holiday inns .

Booked here for one night early December. Hotel had everything I needed for my stay, perfect location, friendly staff, clean room and nice bar and breakfast. Got single room instead of double requested but this was fault of booking agent and not the hotel itself. Would happily return.

We've come here a few times now when visiting Edinburgh and every time has been fantastic . The rooms are always very clean as are the common areas . Such a handy location for getting into the city and the pool / Heath centre are an added bonus . What makes this hotel though is the staff - From the moment we arrived at reception we were made to feel welcome and valued as guests . Andy on nights is a credit to your business , nothing was too much for him and he even upgraded our room because we'd forgotten our speaker . Amazing customer service . The Greek guy on the bar ( think his name was Yan ) is fantastic too as was the lady who was on this weekend - both very upbeat and service was always with a smile . Any other staff we encountered on our 3 day stay were also pleasant and very helpful ! Will definitely be back , thanks for an amazing stay !!
