The room was fine and there was everything we needed.. some cold winds from the window. The breakfast was nothing special. The eggs was dry and there was no bacon on our second day. But the location was really good and there was free wi-fi. The room was expensive, but was probably because of the st Patrick's day
We stayed for two nights, it was a cold and wet March weekend and found a nice warm comfortable room with good shower with Tea ,kettle and a nice Coffee machine. The reception staff were very good and we will stay here the next time we are in Dublin.
I like the name of the hotel and it was not a mistake at all. after landing fromthe airport i took the bus directly to the city center. i saw this hotel from the bus, next to english school. i love the smell when i entered the reception. i booked it before saint patrick's day celebration. i honestly don't feel Dublin as my dream city but i feel better when i enter this hotel. i asked the reception if there is any availability or a night and its rate. the reception gave me a very reasonable price and i agreed to book the double room or whatever room they have for me for two night. i am not a fussy client, i ask whatever it should be. when i did the check in, it was totally simple and they gave me the key. my room was on the 4th floor. it is a clean and well maintained hotel. i was happy when i enter the room, there is a coffee machine, two bottles of mineral waters and tea, sugar and biscuit as complementary. i admit it was quite generous. i have no complaint and it was a perfect hotel for couple or single traveller. it is the center and good ambiance and quiet enough for a city center. unless other guests make a party all night long. but better not expecting a lot of smiley face at the reception, only one asian lady who knows how to work in hospitality industry.
Great location, could do with a lick of paint. Great room with even better amenities, the sooner the breakfast room is back up and running, the better. Ran out of food, drinks, crockery and cutlery when breakfast was far from over and the dining staff were hardly rushing to sort it out.
We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and found it very central to O 'Connell St. Room was adequate for 3 of us with a double and single bed. Lovely and very clean with fresh towels every day. Hotel reception staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. Would return to this hotel
My stay at this hotel made for one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had in my life. I had been looking forward to a weekend in Dublin with two friends. We arrived at the hotel on Friday at 23:45 after flying in from several destinations for a weekend getaway after working a 5 day week. We were greeted by an Italian gentleman who after answering several whatsapp messages said to me and my friends "I will get to you in a minute" he proceeded to finish off his phone convo and we handed our passports to copy and were handed back key cards cards for a “quadruple room” also described as a “family room” which advertised 2 single beds and a double bed as I hope you can see from the photos below. After entering the room we discovered a room that had one fewer beds than the one advertised, reserved and paid for. We went down and a long completely pointless discussion ensued. Can we have a roll away bed “No”, we’ll get it ourselves “No”…Can we have a room with three beds “It’s about availability” can we have another duvet and sleep on the floor “no” “can you detach the bed and form two singles like in most other hotels” “no” beyond inflexible and useless. we were told that we would get a new room after his colleague checked the room to ensure none of us had used any of the facilities (never had such treatment in any hotel I have previously stayed at) we were handed new cards and got A MUCH SMALLER ROOM (a long long walk away on the top floor) with one double and one single bed (the Italian's colleague tried to warn him we were after a room with 3 beds but was shouted down) this was a fantastic waste of another 15 minutes we could have spent walking around town. He could have saved us this by simply saying that the initial room is the largest remaining room in the hotel. Another pointless discussion ensued and I informed him again this was not what I had paid for (“it's about availability” (this was repeated incessantly and obsessively) basically it's a gamble as to whether or not you get the room advertised reserved and paid for. He drew my attention to some small print that I had never seen or agreed to. After enduring 30 rounds of "it's about availability" and trying to politely explain I had not been given what I paid for he swore in Italian. He should be taught better customer service than saying "It's about availability" 37 times, sweating in Italian and shouting down a junior colleague along the way. We were then re-offered the "family" “quadruple” room, with two double beds we sucked it up and I top and tailed with one of my friends for the weekend. In the heat of the moment I stupidly booked another room in the hotel hoping to not have to share a bed with another man (the reason I chose this hotel over others). I was told there were no free rooms until tomorrow, I asked for a refund but was refused despite paying for it several seconds ago. I was told the next day I would be refunded. This has never materialised. They cannot even refund you when you pay for a room and don’t stay in it.
This is a decent 3 star hotel! Just don't make the mistake of expecting 4 star quality because you won't get it. You can expect friendly/helpful service, crisp clean bedding, a fair price, an adequate room and a great location. Be forewarned that the walls are insanely thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. If someone above you goes to the bathroom? It sounds like a heard of elephants. If the cleaners are next door? You'll hear them like they're in your room. I didn't know it was possible for walls to be so thin before my stay. Make sure to bring earplugs and if you're a light sleeper I'd only book as a last resort.
Overnight in Dublin and I bagged a bargain on Hotels.com for 50.00€ for a Double Bedded Room and was well pleased as normally Dublin properties are around the 75.00€ to 100.00€ for a three star property ...so was dead chuffed. Our room 603 be it on the top floor was clean, tidy and the bonus was free WIFI and a lovely coffee machine and overall we were very content with our stay and being so nearby to the centre everything was on the doorstep as in shops, bars and restaurants. Anybody looking for a budget property which is 3 Star Plus book here !!
Booked this last minute for a gig in Dublin. Location is great opposite the Gate theatre, bus stop right outside, car park about a 5/10 minute walk at a discounted rate. Room was clean and quite nice, bathroom was spotless with a shower. Pillows were a little lack luster, but all in all a really good budget Hôtel. Reception were really helpful and friendly. One tip make sure you specify a double or twin.
The room was old, the furniture was falling apart, the plug socket on the wall were cracked and dangerous.. housekeeping came into our room without either of us confirming that they could and on our final morning, the housekeepers were that loud in and out he bedrooms next too us that they may as well have been in our room. Staff not helpful, nor did they have manners, only good thing going for this hotel was the location, which was great.
