Dublin Skylon Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Everything about this hotel would have been great but for the stiffelingly hot room, despite the pleasant outside temperature. When we asked how to moderate the temperature, we eventually received a second fan from a bell hop who claims it's always hot. The staff works very hard to make guests comfortable. Managers should just figure out the ventilation problem.

Staff very pleasant & accomodating. Our room was huge for 4 of us. I'll definitely stay again

Not much near this hotel (pubs, restaurants and shops). It's not even that close to the airport. The staff is super helpful and assisted us with holding luggage and obtaining a bus to the airport. Rooms were run down and ours included a pair of dirty socks from the last visitor. Mildew in the bathroom, broken window, no ac....Rooms are not as pictured.

I've stayed here before and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Very close to the airport and city centre. There are shops and a SPAR across the street. Excellent breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable.

Staff couldn't have been nicer. Helpful and friendly. Room a little small. Bathroom impossibly tiny! TV reception was poor and amount and choice of channels was weak. Bar/restaurant was pleasant, service great. Food was of good quality but choice could have been better. Overall I would give this hotel an 8 out of 10. Will be staying here again location close to my family.

Nice hotel, fantastic responsive staff, good location - close to airport and on a main bus line so you can get anywhere you need to go.

The Best Western Skylon is in a good location between the airport and downtown Dublin. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is good. We stayed at the hotel on our first night in Ireland, and on our last night a week later. The Wifi worked pretty well the first time, and not very well the second night. We were in the middle of the second floor the first night and at the end of the fourth floor the second night. We mentioned the issue to the reception personnel at checkout and they said they would notify the wifi company. Wifi works well in the comfortable lobby. You can catch a bus to downtown Dublin practically across the street from the hotel. The Ivy House restaurant across the street has good food for reasonable prices. Taxis are also reasonable to/from the hotel to downtown. Onsite parking is also reasonably priced.

Always a cheerful Welcome at the Skylon Hotel. The staff are very friendly and polite ready to help with any Questions. The hotel lobby is very comfortable and inviting perfect to relax and have some Tea or Coffee. My room was very clean and neat. I also enjoyed how quiet it was too.Overall a great hotel to stay in Dublin between airport and city centre.

I will never forget the outstanding service I received at this place. The staff was kind, helpful and friendly. We had food from the restaurant delivered to our room and it was delicious. Everything was clean and comfortable. This was my first stay and definitely won't be my last. It's conveniently located for touring Dublin on foot.

The hotel was great! We visited London and Paris and by far the Dublin Skylon was our favorite. The room was very spacious. It reminded me of hotels back in the states. The bathroom was a great size. The water pressure at the hotel could have been better. We didn't really stay in Dublin very long, it was an overnight stay. When we arrived the hotel staff were very friendly. The lady at the reception was very helpful. We arrived in the evening and was extremely tired from hopping on trains and traveling to three different countries. My husband wanted to go sight see and so we exited the hotel and walked across the street as there were several restaurants and pubs. We opted to visit a local pub, and the food was great! I enjoyed that the hotel was close to restaurants and pubs. We will definitely stay here on our next visit. If you stay here make sure to ask about their shuttle service to the airport. It was really inexpensive - only 3 euros, that's a great deal.

For the value it was a good deal.. Staff was great and very helpful. The location was ok but there were busses very close by.

The hotel was lovely. Had a great time, staff was very efficient and friendly. Close to transportation, town, airport, pubs, shops.

Great. Nice people. Good breakfast friendly staff. Would stay there again.

I just returned from Dublin where I spent 6 nights in the Skylon Hotel. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean. I highly recommend staying there!

Nice and Clean rooms. Nice staff. Beds Little hard but ok.

Very helpful and friendly staff! Good location and great price.

We were able to get right into room, since our flight came in earlier than check-in! Very friendly and helpful staff! Got us taxi when needed early morning rides, looked up info for buses and tour locations! Very warm in room, had heat turned all the way down and windows cracked open a bit a few nights. Light switches took some getting use to. Also had a single U.S. plug in case you don't have converter/adapter!!

Size of room was ok, bathroom was small but clean.Smell of smoke went away after opening windows. Leaking cold water tap in sink.

The place was nice. It was a bit far from the main area, but there is a bus stop right in front. It was worth it, though, because the place was quiet and relaxing.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night. However, it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is just a 10-15 minute drive from the airport and Temple Bar (Dublin's main hotspot)
