Over-rated and not as advertised. There is no room service (despite what the website says), website says checkout time is noon and that’s what key cards say too, but they call at 11:30am and say checkout time is 11am so you need to leave asap, and rooms have no locks so housekeeping enters when you are in the room.

Enjoyed our stay. Nice property, modern and well maintained. Staff were helpful with requests, although a little vague on giving directions (some were not from the local area). Our room was comfortable, albeit a little noisy at night due to the proximity of a pub on the next corner. The sink didn't drain effectively, and the fan in the bathroom didn't work. Good selection of coffee, hot chocolate, and milk for the mornings. Only one towel per person.

Great location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff

Trendy decor, clean comfortable room. Close enough to walk to Trinity College and O Connell St.

Its a relatively new hotel. Vintage modern with effective and unique led room lighting.

The Alex was a great hotel! Having stayed in Dublin in my twenties and in Temple Bar, this was an upgrade! The Alex is situated near Merrion Square and was in a unique location allowing us to see parts of Dublin I would not have otherwise. The hotel itself is beautiful with good size rooms and big comfy beds. It also has 2 bars/restaurants right next door as good options for both food and drink. It’s also a short walk from Pearse station where you can take a 25 minute train ride to the beautiful seaside town of Howth - highly recommend. All in all - a great stay and would highly recommend The Alex for those traveling to Dublin!

excellent rooms, great breakfast, terrific customer service. Thank you

Friendly staff and great location. Easy access to city center. Hotel restaurant and bar were mediocre. No electric outlets in bathroom.
